Côte Lewes

We had the light lunch warm goats cheese with roast veg and tapenade crostini and my friend had crepes with mushrooms and spinach, both delightful and filling. Service was exceptional not intrusive but attentive.

Excellent meal. Restaurant rather noisy but after a group left near us it became easy enough to have a conversation. Good service. Absence of music a real bonus. Thank you for a good evening.

Our service was very good, attentive staff and very amenable Maitre d and a bonus because the food was good also. We had a very enjoyable evening, shame about the lack of parking??

Good honest (and consistently good in all the Cotes Ive tried) bistro food and a robust Rhone wine. 3 courses for under 20 quid! Whats not to like??

Only our second visit,but as before we were made very very welcome.The staff are truly wonderful in every way, especially the surprise chorus of *Happy Birthday* for my wife.The food is to die for and I, liking good food ,would be there every day but my waistline could not keep up.Thankyou again for a very very special day As McArthur once said *I will return*

We had a lovely time at my sisters surprise lunch - food and service were super but however we did have to wait quite a while between courses and although parked for 3 hours we all overstayed our parking!

I Didn't like 12.5% gratuity being added to the bill

The food was very good...Well cooked and excellent quality. We had 2 people with allergies and the staff took it seriously and were helpful. The beginning of the meal was strange. We ordered bread and olives but no plates arrived and when asked for took ages.. then 4 came...we were 6 people. Overall we were very happy and would return for a celebration meal.

Amazing food and service for a group of thirty four on a busy Friday evening. Thank you to all the cooks and the staff. We would certainly book again.

Great food and the service was very efficient but I think putting on a service charge of 12.5% on every table especially for a table of two is very naughty

We had a memorable evening. A nice quiet table in a side room. I tried to order three Kir cocktails as it was my friend's birthday and it was such a lovely surprise when they arrived as complimentary. Each course we had was excellent and we finished with a delicious sorbet and cheese board. The waitress was charming and efficient. Really impressed!

First time at Lewes as Brighton fully booked. Food and service as good as I expected. Staff great.Atmosphere good. Not rushed. Definitely go there again.

Slightly protracted booking process-got there in the end. Left hand/right hand scenario. Despite pre ordering, starters were over 30 minutes to arrive. Generally a little too slow in service but good food and an enjoyable evening. Suggest if you want to cater for larger parties then provide a limited menu to improve speed of service. Price inclusive of 12.5%-always a bug-bear, especially on top of drinks, making a £22.95 bottle actually costing £25.80!!

This is the 2nd time is as many weeks, Atmosphere is lovely, service very good, staff are all very nice, My guests food was excellent and they all enjoyed their food. I was dissapointed with my half chicken(it was not as nice as it was my first visit) chicken was very dry and there was no garlic Butter in a white dish on my plate, Whereas that had been previously and the lady at the next table has this with her chicken. I was unable to mention about the chicken to any staff, as my guests as I felt uncomfortable doing this in front of my guests. We all had a really nice time and I am looking forward to my next visit.

Good food, great service and a comprehensive wine list. The only drawback is the toilets which are down stairs and along a narrow passage. Luckily, there are signs showing the way bay to the Restaurant.

Lovely meal and excellent service. We were a large group but were looked after efficiently and with no fuss. Our server was cheerful and very attentive to our needs without interrupting the flow of conversations. Very impressed and we will certainly be back.

Very enjoyable meal, portions fairly small, but still satisfying. Food fresh and tasted delicious. Waiter very helpful and pleasant.

Really loved the style and decor of this Cote. Food fab as always. Excellent service. We had the breakfast/brunch deal which was any cooked breakfast, hot drink and juice for £10.50.

Excellent service, and delicious food. I’ve already recommended this place to several people I’ve met around town. Some have said, ‘Oh, yes. It’s the best Lewes has.’

Very pleasant evening out with family made all the more special by the food, environment and staff at Côte. Not the cheapest night out but well worth the money!

I can’t fault the food always delicious! I actually felt sorry for the staff as they were obviously understaffed and so not able to give us their full attention.

Lovely meal and attentive service we would have liked to have been offered the free cocktail as we were a party of six but five of us had the set menus - would have been a nice touch as resiwssnt busy and we were a large table

Celebration of s 60th wedding anniversary and s special birthday. Booked with an intro offer of free bottle of wine. Food was fab but the unfortunate debate about the availability of the free wine offer with the staff rather spoiled the evening.

I had booked for myself and seven friends to have lunch for my birthday! We were sat in a room away from the main restaurant which was perfect. Even though we were tucked away the service was excellent and the food was delicious! We would definitely recommend the crepes! Everyone had a great time and we weren’t hassled to leave. In fact we ended up staying four hours! Would definitely go back again.

Although a particular table was booked , in person , and logged on your terminal by a male member of staff , this was not provided on the booked day at the booked time !! Service , as always was excellent , but bacon over cooked and toast soft !

We had a great breakfast- 13 of us on Easter Sunday. Very competent and friendly staff. All the food was served promptly and really well cooked. Clean plates all round! Thanks to Zoltan and the team for accommodating us all. Would thoroughly recommend.

Food and service were good. The menu is a la carte, as it was Sunday lunchtime. However, I do feel that the service charge is excessive. This should be left to customer's discretion and I would usually leave 10%. However, Cote charge over 12%. We had two starters, two main courses (each costing £15.99) and two glasses of wine and it came to £70, which included the service charge. I would expect to pay that in a restaurant in London, not a chain in Lewes.

Had lunch menu very good value. Excellent creme caramel, French beer and coffee
