The food and service was great, as it always is.

It was an excellent meal, with the added touch of a complimentary drink to start with when we mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday which was really appreciated by all. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food very nice too.

The experience was all I would expect from a meal at lunchtime at a Brasserie. The staff friendly and efficient the set menu giving a good choice and the food served swiftly, hot and very tasty.

We recently booked a table for four, we had the breakfast and quite frankly it was the worst I have ever had in the newbury restaurant. Drinks order was wrong and then the food was completely wrong! How can you get poached eggs when we asked for scrambled? Needless to say didn’t eat it! The toast wasn’t cooked at all and may as well have been just bread! I’m hoping this was just a blip as we do love dining here.

Lovely food wonderful staff it’s very pleasant dining experience will definitely be coming back again it a very rare opportunity me and my boyfriend get a date night and this was just wonderful

Had a nice meal as usual but poor service today due to a new person serving. He had trouble understanding English. Several mistakes. However, without even mention it, the house manager discounted our bill and apologised as was aware that the service was below par. Well done Cote Brasserie.

Having been here many times our last visit was disappointing. Very glad to say that all is back to normal. Excellent service and food. Great value for money. All in all a great evening.

Excellent thank you. I had lunch with my sister who had travelled up from Dorset. We spent s long time chatting and catching up and didn't feel harassed or fussed by our waitress for being rather slow with the order and the eating!

extremely noisy - everyone was shouting to hear each other - the whole surroundings are hard surfaced and therefore reflective of all sounds. Not a pleasant experience. The food was good, but lacked finesse. I would hesitate to recommend the restaurant.

Where do we start...supposed to be a nice mothers day meal. Waited 15 mins for waiter to take order. It had been a busy day so some food had run out from mains which was no problem but also no flatbread we found the found out. Then no flute glasses for kir- which was flat when it eventually arrived in wine glasses and we ordered kir / kir royale but were same. One of our breads arrived virtually thrown in table, but no plates. I raised issues with front desk and other bread arrived with main courses- which were actually good. We didn't order anything else no adjustment to bill and should not have paid the 12.5% tip but felt for cooks, which were let down by front of house. We wont be back anytime soon and have plenty other options locally. On and out in under and hour, not a memorable experience

As a regular customer I regret the food and the service was not up to it’s usual high standard. It was a pity as we took our grandson with us. If it was our first visit to the restaurant we probably would not have gone again. We are back again this Friday with friends when we hope it will be back to the good food and service that we have come to expect from Cote Brasserie.

We enjoyed a very tasty meal and that was artistically well presented - all 3 courses and 4 different selections. As this was a Family Easter Celebration which also incorporated a Birthday & belated Mother's Day celebrations it was made extra special with the Complimentary Easter 75 cocktail. Lovely dining experience despite booking on Father’s Day. Very polite waiter, food was delicious, the only thing I can criticise, which is really not a problem for some people, was the wine glasses. They have one size glass for all the wine, so if you order a large red, your glass is filled up to almost the top which is not what you’d want with red wine as it needs room to breathe. So that’s was a bit disappointing and we just had to order a whole bottle so we could fill the glasses less..😉

We were then given a table right next to the till and kitchens! I was not impressed at all! Noisy and bright and distracting! We were celebrating our 3 birthdays 😩 our waitress didn’t smile at all so we didn’t feel the £12 tip was granted either. I’ve been coming to you for years for birthdays, my husband and I anniversary each year, parties and I organise our mums nights out and use you but after today we discussed going elsewhere. Massively dissatisfied I’m afraid. Laura sparks.

It was amazing. The service was great, our waitress was fantastic, it was great ti have a laugh with the waitress when i tild her about my favourite dessert and that i wouldve licked the dish if i was alone. Thankyou ever so much for helping me make my other half's birthday special ☺☺ we will be back. The waitress is an absolute credit to the establishment. She deserves a raise. 6 stars for everything as everything was just amazing. X

Food was great as always but service wasn’t great. Felt like we were forgotten about and had to get up and ask for service a couple of times, it wasn’t even busy. Then had the optional service charge added without us saying which was quite cheeky.

I took my teenage children out to dinner and all three of us thoroughly enjoyed our perfectly cooked and very tasty meals. Our drinks, Rhubarb Martinis and cloudy lemonade, were delicious and all food abd dribk was good value. We were also impressed with the courteous and efficient waiters. We will be back!

Thoroughly enjoyable evening. The restaurant was busy which is always a good sign and helps add to the atmosphere. The service was good, attentive without being overbearing and the right level of humour. The food choices were extensive and all sounded lovely and indeed our choices were. Every thing about this evenings meal was just perfect with a warm welcome, great service, absolutely terrific food and a very relaxed atmosphere. Just right for the celebration family meal for my daughters 21st birthday and great value for money. We continue to go to Cote regularly because we know that it is the best. Well done to all the staff.

Nice restaurant with good food that is always consistent in terms of quality. Service was excellent and the Newbury restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Would recommend.

Complimentary cocktail looked amazing. Tasted ok/average - would not pay for one though. Cote were very accommodating as I’d booked and cancelled tables to get the offer!! Lovely lady on reception - very chatty and welcoming. Service at table was very slow. Took quite a while to get water, drinks and to be asked our food other. We did pay device charge...but regrettably. Reception service great...but table service poor. On reflection we shouldn’t have paid this ‘added on’ charge. Don’t like the fact it’s automatically added to the bill. Love your salmon starts! Lamb chops were great too. Your food never disappoints.

Love everything about Cote, the food, the service, the attention to detail, my favourite restaurant in Newbury.

A wonderful meal as usual. We took advantage of the free martini cocktail which was delicious. We have been abroad for a month and it was such a pleasure to know we could come here as soon as we came back. The only down point was that a waiter (new I think) tipped a glass of wine over which splattered my husband's tee-shirt. Luckily it was the white one not the red!

I love going to cote for the service I get .and the livey food in all the year I've been going to Newbury cote for breakfast lunch and dinner .I've never had back meal it has always been excellent

Excellent service, staff cheerful and courteous. Special dietary requirements met immediately and delivered. We didn’t have to wait too long for our food to be served.

A very pleasant meal after a trip to the theatre. We always enjoy the food which is much nicer than the Italian food and in my opinion more authentic.

Whilst seated promptly we were then ignored and had to approach a member of staff and ask to place our order

Food was as good as ever, but the upstairs seating area was new to us and the atmosphere was not as good as downstairs, more than server would have helped.

Nice early evening meal. Good service. Food standard Cote rarely disappointing and pretty good value for money pre 7pm. Wine choices ok some prices a bit steep.
