Côte Newbury

Terrible service. Had to ask to be actually served after over 10 minutes from being seated. Waitress and staff couldn’t be less interested when I raised it. No one came to the table to check on things or offer more drinks. Two portions of butter brought out between 4 people meaning we left toast as impossible to get served to get more. Bill added up wrongly, told one of the managers to remove the service charge as we’d have zero service. She wasn’t remotely interested and overall very poor experience and won’t be rushing back.

Consistently good quality food well presented with great service st a reasonable price...what more can you ask for. Thank you

Not great. Not enough staff on for Mother's day. Coffee's took ages - at the end of the brunch we asked if we could order more coffee's and were told 'You can yes but it will be at least a 30 minute wait as our coffee machine isn't fast enough to accommodate 300 covers' - unfortunately this isn't our fault that your machine cannot accommodate a busy morning! - we were pretty much told not to order coffees. Asked for the bill multiple times as everyone seemed too busy to help. We come to Cote quite often for brunch but this was not good and has made us question if we should continue to come back as we didn't feel welcomed atall

As ever. Perfect service thank you Attila. Fab food. We had the asparagus, sea bass, and two puds that were the best finishing touch.

It was an excellent meal, with the added touch of a complimentary drink to start with when we mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday which was really appreciated by all. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food very nice too.

We love Cotes. The food is delicious and the service is very good.

As always we really enjoyed our food. Lovely steak and calamari. Staff helpful and polite and although it was mother’s day and it was really busy we were not rushed.

We recently booked a table for four, we had the breakfast and quite frankly it was the worst I have ever had in the newbury restaurant. Drinks order was wrong and then the food was completely wrong! How can you get poached eggs when we asked for scrambled? Needless to say didn’t eat it! The toast wasn’t cooked at all and may as well have been just bread! I’m hoping this was just a blip as we do love dining here.

Had a nice meal as usual but poor service today due to a new person serving. He had trouble understanding English. Several mistakes. However, without even mention it, the house manager discounted our bill and apologised as was aware that the service was below par. Well done Cote Brasserie.

Great quality food in a really nice restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

The usual excellent Côte experience. Received with a friendly welcome, service impeccable, food well cooked and well presented. And this was on the busiest day of the year. Well done Côte Newbury!

Staff really pleasant and helpful. Food was lovely, service great. Nice atmosphere. Starters and mains were very good. Look forward to our next visit hopefully soon.

Probably the best brunch in Newbury! Great service, Tasty food, Nice atmosphere for a weekend family breakfast. Will recommend to anyone the deal including the juice and the hot drink.

Food was better than expected as I was unimpressed with my previous visit two years ago. The service was attentive. Overall the dining experience is good.

A good meal, as usual. Would have liked the food to have been a little warmer though. When my husband's meal came it was not piping hot, hence only 5 stars and not 6

Nice food and atmosphere but we were very rushed throughout which meant the meal wasn’t a relaxing experience. I’ve eaten at cote Newbury many times and haven’t ever felt as rushed. Unfortunately this visit will make me think twice about returning. The score given for waiting times reflect this. My friend had literally taken her spoon out of her mouth after a last mouthful of dessert and her plate whisked away. Disappointing.

I absolutely love coming to Cote to eat, whether is breakfast lunch or dinner it is always first class. I have never had a bad experience here. Thank you so much for my birthday fizz with my two friends this evening, a very nice touch.

Lovely meal we had the pate and goats cheese starters followed by the steak and pork belly. Very good along with friendly service.

Having been here many times our last visit was disappointing. Very glad to say that all is back to normal. Excellent service and food. Great value for money. All in all a great evening.

Always a pleasurable experience dining at Cote Newbury. Welcoming, friendly, helpful staff ensure we have a lovely meal in comfortable surroundings. The quality and choice of food is consistantly good value. The offer of complimentary rhubarb cocktails with our lunch were delicious, and much appreciated. Everyone enjoyed their choices without exception.

Lovely ambience, great food and service, will definately visit again.

Stay in newbury with friends decided to eat at Cote due to good reviews and first impressions looking in well presented and clean and a good varied menu

My wife and I had a lovely celebration breakfast for her birthday, made special by the complimentary glasses of mimosa! Food was great, as was the service. I would highly recommend.

Excellent lunch today, treated my husband to lunch, very busy but well looked after. The only little glitch was that I had ask and wait for gf bread to accompany the soup and again cheese but other than that everything was very good.

We were then given a table right next to the till and kitchens! I was not impressed at all! Noisy and bright and distracting! We were celebrating our 3 birthdays 😩 our waitress didn’t smile at all so we didn’t feel the £12 tip was granted either. I’ve been coming to you for years for birthdays, my husband and I anniversary each year, parties and I organise our mums nights out and use you but after today we discussed going elsewhere. Massively dissatisfied I’m afraid. Laura sparks.

New veggie menu, great food and excellent service. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. A regular stop for us pre-cinema. Yet to be disappointed!

I booked a table which was fine, the service was very good, but food a little slow in coming. In fairness the restaurant was busy, and we had a lot to talk about. My only .complaint' was that the fish pie was very salty, so much so that I could not finish it. Shame, as the food is usually so very good. But, I will come back as it is a really nice place to eat it and the girls are so friendly and polite. Please, just less salt!!!

Every thing about this evenings meal was just perfect with a warm welcome, great service, absolutely terrific food and a very relaxed atmosphere. Just right for the celebration family meal for my daughters 21st birthday and great value for money. We continue to go to Cote regularly because we know that it is the best. Well done to all the staff.

Bustling restaurant, with excellent food. Centrally placed in Newbury. Wide choice of food available, all beautifully cooked and we'll presented. Busy staff very efficient. When very busy the restaurant is a bit noisy, would benefit from some sound dampening.

If you wish to be treated like Royalty go to Cote Newbury! The food is great with huge choice, the service friendly and unobtrusive even when busy, nothing is too much trouble. Lovely buzzy atmosphere, our favourite eatery in Newbury.

With 2 of our party of 8 coeliac, and looking forward to steak and frites, unfortunately the frites fryer was broken and so their options for food was very limiting
