Staff we very friendly and food was great as usual but the restaurant was so noisy, sat near to kitchen area where staff repeatedly dropped cutlery as they went through the door, difficult to hold a conversation to be honest!

Overall very poor, I normally love eating here. However the service was very poor on this occasion and the food was very disappointing. I won’t be returning

Visited for lunch with my mother and sister. Food delicious as usual and I have booked for dinner on 2nd March with a friend.

We had a really nice lunch in a packed restaurant full of atmosphere. The staff were excellent and food very good

4 of us, Very good food especially the steak. The calamari was a bit too greasy. 12.5% service charge is a bit steep but the service was very good and the ambience was very pleasant.

Table wasn’t ready for us Wrong menus Soup arrived long before pate Forgot that I had ordered gluten-free menu Service so slow we had to take most of food away with us I know it was Valentine’s Day, but I had booked for 6 pm and we had to rush to the theatre for 7.30 Very disappointing.

After reserving a table by the window in November 2019 for this special event on the 21 February 2020. Total disappointment, Three other couples were waiting to be seated, last couple obviously friends of the host (front of house) were seated in the table I had reserved three months prior. We noted the host asked the couple to relocate, we most certainly did not wish for conflict from the couple. We moved on to another eatery. To say the least we are exceptionally disappointed & the actions of the host ruined our evening. We will be expressing our dissatisfaction to head office.

As always the welcome, food, and service was excellent. We have been to Cotes in 3 different towns and it is always the same. You have obviously got a very good training scheme. If we go somewhere new and there is a Cotes we would always go there.

Delicious food with great service as always. Newbury should be very proud of this excellent restaurant. Busy as you would expect but didn’t affect the service or quality of food

Service was fantastic and food was too notch - ideal for me, I'd like a bit more choice, on the menu, such as a special menu where you can choose two, or three, courses (instead of just three courses), but other than that little niggle, I think this is the best place to eat in Newbury.

Had the ‘works’ - St Valentin menu together with matching wines - everything was beautifully cooked and presented - and delicious. Staff all very friendly and looked after us very well during our visit. Never had a bad meal at Cote - would thoroughly recommend.

There is only one reason we keep coming back - because we enjoy it. Good food, good atmosphere, great staff, excellent value. What's not to like.

Never been disappointed with a meal at Cote prior to today. I ordered the grilled 1/2 chicken, I had 2 pieces with bone, looked more like leg & thigh, but expected some breast. Consequently I left much of the chicken which was still on the bone. We ordered from the Prestige menu simply because I wanted the crumble [which used to be included in the early saver]. So yes I will stick to the chicken breast dishes in future. My husband did enjoy his Pork Tenderloin though. But the staff & service could not be faulted.

As always, a lovely meal at Cote. We had the 2 course deal which was delicious and such fantastic value. Staff always friendly and helpful

Booking, Food, everything really very good and I was left thinking this is really great value and we use you for all of our meetings of this sort.. Staff very very good. Had to get up to go and ask for the bill at the end, so we had decided no sweet or coffees, then been left for a bit too long, but largely still 9/10.

I'm a regular here, it never disappoints! Good food, friendly staff and value for money! I had the weekend special of Steak Frites, tender steak served piping hot with a green salad and a side of frites. I used to live locally, now a distance away, but when in the area I always visit!

Always a pleasure to eat here, very welcoming, good service and great food!
