Côte Newbury

We are regular breakfast visitors to Côte Newbury. The "Formule" at £10.95 is excellent value for money and includes a choice of cooked breakfast, fruit juice, tea/coffee and toast/jam. Food generally arrives fairly quickly and is well presented and hot. Portions are good and everything tastes good.

Initial arrival and service good. But it slackened a bit later on the meal.

Service excellent as always, but found my Main Chicken dish dry and the Ju quite salty. My Wife found her Starter difficult to eat, served as it was in a Small Pot on Wooden Platter.

Had a really great meal. Very happy with free cocktail of month for all my guests. Was my birthday but didn’t get anything extra which I understand as we didn’t have desserts. Too full up by that point. Food never disappoints. Service always attentive and friendly.

Great fans of Cote, another very enjoyable dinner again tonight . Excellent service by David, a great asset to Cote.

Lovely food in a charming environment with excellent service. Welcomed with a blood orange martini which was very delicious. My husband and I decided on two hors d’ouve instead of starters. A pot of rose harissa olives and reblochon cheese. These were very good, spicy olives a selection of green and black, the reblochon was served with thyme on crispy flat bread. Very happy with these choices, my husband decided on the fish stew whilst I chose salmon with ratatouille. The fish was fabulous, soft with crispy skin, served on top of a tasty vegetable side. Winner! My husband loved the fish in his stew, sea bass, prawns, squid, mussels and clams. Amazing! We will be back.

We were welcomed into the restaurant and looked after really well all evening by the friendly staff. The food was delicious as usual and as it was my husband's birthday, we had complementary coffees as well as a birthday dessert. A really lovely evening. Thank you.

The food as always was tasty and a good varied menu. The service from new waitress Vicky was excellent - smiley, knowledgable and friendly. A lemon wedge served with the fish stew would have Ben great but Vicky sifted that out.

Good ambiance, great service, excellent food , reasonable prices, all adding up to great value for money . Special mention to the young girl who provide service with a smile and charming manner. Credit must go to the manager.

The food and service were great. However our overall experience was spoilt by the table of 14 a couple of tables down from us. They are ridiculously loud, shrieking and squealing. I couldn’t hear the person sat opposite me. I think if you are going to allow these type of parties they should either be in a separate area or asked to keep the volume down for the sake of other diners.

Always enjoy meals at Cote Brasserie Newbury, the chicken was so tender and delicious and my granddaughter tried the frozen fruits.

I absolutely LOVE Cote and regularly eat in your restaurants. I arranged to meet my friend in the Newbury restaurant where I've eaten on many occasions. I informed the Waitress of my nut allergy, and ordered your Blood Orange & Fennel Salad and specifically asked for no hazelnut vinaigrette but when it came, it had hazelnuts on it. The Waitress really didn't appear to care!! She bought back another salad which was much smaller and looked like someone had thrown it in the bowl - no presentation whatsoever. Our Waitress wasn't very attentive - we had to continually call her over everytime we wanted something - after our desserts we waited for 45 minutes to see if she would come over and eventually we asked a different waitress to bring us tea/coffee. All round, not a good experience and the Waitress certainly requires additional training, particularly with allergens.

Always an enjoyable experience at Newbury Cote. We took advantage of the January Offer for the lunch. Restaurant was very busy at 2pm, but received care and attention and excellent service. Food always wonderfully flavoursome, well cooked and well presented.

As always, excellent service and excellent food. I have been eating here since it first opened and not once have I seen the quality of the food go down which is often the way after a while. This place has continuous high standards and is my favourite place to eat. Never ever change the recipe for the creme caramel as it’s delicious and I have it every time I eat there. Also very impressed with the January offer and have eaten out twice on it!

Staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. We were asked to pre-order due to another large party and as such were surprised when two extra main course arrived which weren't ours. But the staff sorted this brilliantly and there no other issues. Would suggest that as the pre-order has names and choices that when they bring out the dinners they call the persons name and not the dish, as people often forget what they have ordered. It meant that we had to keep looking at our list and being organised. But as always a lovely meal with brilliant staff and will be going back. Thank you

It was the first time for me to visit Newbury and I knew that Cote would not disappoint the friends I had invited. They all had different opinions but all were very impressed with everything. Thank you Cote

My lovely wife and I share a birthday so we decided, as it fell on a Tuesday this year, to go to Cote for a nice meal and a nice meal we had including a complimentary glass of Kir Royal which was nice and well received. Johnny looked after us so well without crowding us out and made us feel very special and the food was great as usual. In a nut shell, we had a really nice evening - many thanks.

Excellent evening party of 4 enjoyed smoked salmon & crab dishes to start plus steaks cooked to perfection, lus beef bourginon & fish stew. All was very good. liquor coffees to finish. The service was very attentive. The final bill was very acceptable for al that was enjoyed. Many thanks for an enjoyable evening
