Lovely location, good food, very pleasant service. The steak frites and the sides were very good (especially the minted peas). Very french menu but no French waiters :(

We had a fabulous brunch, very reasonably priced, the food and the service were excellent and the surroundings were clean and friendly. Will definitely visit again :-)

Had a lovely meal, with all courses well prepared and served. We chose this restaurant because of its extensive gluten free menu, which had plenty of choice. Would recommend.

First time here and none of us were disappointed. Food, wine, service and atmosphere all very good. Wide range of choices on the menu to suit all tastes. We had different starters which left clean plates, four different main course meal all came hot and well presented and again clean plates. I would like to add that we are four friends who meet up several times a year and we are all very choosy about our food with our motto being 'if we can make this at home it's not worth paying for' whilst the food is not innovative it is good quality and well prepared and presented and definitely worth paying for. We will definitely go again. We also thought the bill would be more than it was. The staff were discretely attentive. I don't like recommending restaurants because food is personal taste but I can say that for us it had all the components of a very good evening for a meal with friends at a perfectly exceptable price. Hope you enjoy it too.

Excellent evening great food and superb staff the restaurant is one of our favourites and never fails to deliver on service or food whether it's evening or breakfast the high standards are always very high well done .

As always, delicious food (really loved the scallops with put lentils on the May menu) and attentive service at a reasonable price - what's not to like!

We have been to this restaurant lots of times as a family and always an interesting menu, great food flavours and excellent service. if you fancy French, or a great steak, this is the place.

Sadly we were half an hour late due to traffic problems, the staff could not have been nicer and had kept our table. Food as always excellent. Best value for money!

Fantastic evening celebrating our first wedding anniversary - thank you for making it so special. Lamb shank special was perfect - so tender and tasty. Very well looked after.

Nice atmosphere good French menu service friendly. Why not give it a try. We had the goats cheese salad, fish stew and crepe grand marnier.

Came here for our anniversary meal. Left it very late to book ( literally hours before) so couldn't get the time slot we wanted but that was fine. Beautiful food with extremely attentive staff. Thoroughly recommended!

Great earl evening menu with plenty of choice. Chose the oven roasted plaice with creamy leeks, so yummy. Partner chose the steak and fritters, a firm favourite. Excellent service and ambience.

Efficient welcoming service. Attentive waiter who gave us time to choose. Hot well cooked food with a varied choice on the menu. Not rushed as we wanted to spend the evening there.

Good food, as usual. We had to wait a long time to order coffee, hence 5 instead of 6. Restaurant remarkably quiet for a market day.

Great food. Good service. Most of the staff are very friendly and very attentive. Tonight there was one female member of staff with blonde hair. She was neither friendly or attentive but sadly robotic and cold. Shame really as the rest of the staff really make the place.

Lovely evening and food as usual but when our bill came it was all wrong and had random items added plus our complimentary Kit Royales had not been deducted. No fuss to correct it.

Friendly, attentive staff. Food was ok but certainly not to the standard of other Cotes I have visited. Very dusty & a lot of cobwebs. Need a new cleaner.

Friendly service in a relaxing environment. Enticing menu and food well presented. The standard of meals maintained at a high level over the time we have visited Cote in various towns in the UK.

The food as always was excellent. We had taken potential clients for lunch and wanted them to have a nice lunch in a nice relaxing atmosphere However the waitress that served us was very sullen and when one of our clients asked for an addition to her lunch, the waitress huffed...it was almost too much trouble for her. Our client spoke to the deputy manager and told her how the waitress was not completely accommodating, which as you can imagine, was embarrassing for all. We are due to come back on Thursday the 14th September for a team meeting and we really hope the service is better.

Super service from friendly staff, lovely and clean seating and table, great value food! We went for breakfast and felt spoilt at the end of it. Delicious.

Excellent service and set menu great value for money. Both the plaice and chicken cooked to perfection and well seasoned. Puddings tasty too. Bravo Cote!

Disappointing. The food was not very satisfactory, the portions were small and prepared with what felt like little care. The Tuna salad, which is usually beautiful, was disappointing, the tuna was very thin and a little over cooked and there was an insufficient quantity to warrant charging £13.50. We asked for extra salad to go with it, but that was then old salad which had started to go off and was over dressed. The steak was tough. The calamari was beautifully cooked, which helped the meal slightly. But the service was incredibly slow. It is a real shame because this had been one of the nicest restaurants in Newbury, but maybe it's popularity ismeaning it has started to slide in quality. I hope it doesn't. Continue to do so, but we will think twice about returning if the quality doesn't improve. Especially as this was a birthday treat for my 89 year old grandma.

Very warm welcome from the friendly staff, as always at Cote. Excellent service matched by the quality of the food and drink. Definitely one of our favourite restaurants.

Fantastic food, great service and a lovely evening. Will definitely return. The only thing I would change next time would be to request a table away from the window - being slightly lower than street level meant that everyone walking past looked in, and also the headlights from passing cars shone straight in too!

Another excellent meal at a great value price. Visit regularly and it is consistently good. Service friendly and accommodating. Extensive gluten free menu, with choices delivered clearly marked so you can enjoy with confidence.
