Côte Welwyn Garden City

I have been here twice recently both for breakfast, service has been terrible both times. Items are forgotten, taken ages to take an order or bring part of an order even when said the waiter/tress remembered. Service is never proactive in coming to take an order or check things are ok or if you would like anything else, both times we have had to flag someone down multiple times to ask for something or have our order taken. One of the visits had a pregnant woman with us, you hold no de-cafe or any kind and so she was unable to have a hot drink. Food is fine but service really needs sorting. Either more staff are needed but also feel some serious training is needed to better their understanding of customer experience to your staff and the meaning of customer service.

Food was amazing, so delicious. We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary here and will definitely be back again. The service was brilliant and we were so happy with everything on offer this evening. Such a great location for a special evening.

Great food. Duck confit was lovely and my friend said her fish pie was good. Service was a tad slow and many a time we had to look for someone...another drink..pay for the bill..olives were VERY salty. Other wise great, will return

Love coming here we visit Cote often the staff are always friendly and the food is lovely. Can not fault Cote amazing atmosphere and ambiance most importantly we have two young children and staff always make them welcome and are very welcoming. Thank you Cote to all your staff and chefs for the amazing food made my fathers day experience perfect today.

Unfortunately we had a problem with our starters - my husband did not get the starter he ordered but was more than happy to accept the one he was given and I ordered the Egg and Bacon Salad starter but there was no sign of an egg anywhere! We were being treated to the meal by a kind neighbour so I didn't like to complain in front of her having already had the mix up over one starter. Apart from that the meal was excellent as usual and she enjoyed her first meal at the restaurant.

Very limited vegan menu, only two doses. It says there is a separate vegan menu but there wasn’t, it was on the vegetarian one. Only sorbet for desert. When the dishes did arrive they were tasteless. Overall a very disappointing Father’s Day dining experience. Gave 2 stars just because the waitress was reasonably helpful.

Visited early in dinner service , busy but prompt service, food was good standard, wouldn't sit in booth by bar again, bit noisy but not major issue and quick drinks service lol

Cote completely ruined my mother’s day. I reserved a table weeks ago only to find a queue on arrival outside the door of other people who’d also reserved tables. After 10 mins of queuing we were told there was a 30 mins wait standing outside on the pavement. I’m disappointed with cote who we have dined with on many occasions. Their planning and organisation skills leave a lot to be desired. We luckily found another restaurant so didn’t wait. They could have at least offered money off the bill!

Went for the lunch and early evening menu Soup Starter - Great Cod - Delicious but a little parsimonious Service excellent and very attentive in and out in an hour and a quarter Thank You

Our hostess was Hope and we found her efficient and friendly and charming and of course professional. Nothing was too much trouble Our food looked good and tasted good Thank you and see you soon inga W Longmore

Lovely food and the staff great Andrew was brilliant. The manager was really super. Cannot fault anything. Going again this Saturday with girl friends it is the only place to be x

We had a most fantastic time for a 40th birthday celebration. It was the second time at Cote Brasserie and it was even better on this occasion with excellent service throughout.

Although we live in Harpenden, we always use the Welwyn Garden City Restaurant as the service, ambiance and food are excellent . Very easy to book on line or on the phone. The daytime menu is good value and the Chocolate pot is to die for!!!

As always, our food was lovely, with lots of choice and a variety of specials on offer. The staff at Welwyn are always friendly and attentive.

We had a lovely lunch....but.....there were only 3 water glasses on our table and had to ask for another one. We ordered bread.....and had to ask for plates!! My gin and tonic arrived pre mixed....it was replaced! I do feel that having the bill arrive with the 12.5% gratuity included but optional quite offensive. It is up to the diner/diners to decide if and how much to leave.

The food, as always, was lovely. We had several issues with our order being wrong, and it did take them three attempts to bring us the correct breakfasts, after quite a delay in between each one. However, they were polite and apologetic and made up for these problems quickly and without any prompting from us or need to complain.

Delicious as usual. Our favourite place to enjoy a tasty breakfast in a friendly relaxing atmosphere. There is a large selection on the menu to choose from & a variety of cooked breakfast deal available. I opted for the vegetarian meal & the flavours & ingredients put together were delicious. My husband had a tradition cooked breakfast, which he also thoroughly enjoyed. You can also just enjoy a hot drink & pastry if you don’t want a big meal.

Good menu Good service. Excellent food. Like all restaurants nowadays the noise was annoying.The coffee machine didn't help, but good coffee.

The food was delicious but the service was poor. Booked table for 7.15 but still had no food by 8.45pm. Service was very slow and we had to ask for some water from a passing waiter as we were all so thirsty. We waited ages before anyone took our drinks order and a long wait for the food. It was a very busy Saturday evening which probably explains the delays but the service really didn’t deserve the automatic gratuity of 12.5% added to the bill.

We met up with friends and had a delicious meal . I can recommend the chicken breast with mushrooms and dauphinois potatoes. Service friendly and efficient as always.

Lunch was most enjoyable - good food and ambience and staff were very pleasant. Will definitely be returning for another visit. I had requested a table upstairs by the window and not in the middle of the restaurant, so the noise level was okay. Thank you!

Fantastic value. An excellent breakfast. Cannot best it for the price. Restaurant reasonably busy so it’s clearly popular place to go on a Saturday morning. Would definitely go again.

Have been here before and it is always good,last night was no exception. A warm welcome from the manager, a warm restaurant ( on a very cold night)and good food. The food was delivered hot with appropriate times between each course. The young waiter was professional and friendly. A good night.

Great ambiance with a lovely view across to the fountain in the park. The restaurant was warm and cozy whilst still being bright and open.Efficient service and good food.

Service was a bit slow to start with,especially as the restaurant was virtually empty at 3pm on a Tuesday. However, the food was delicious. The February specials were gorgeous - boudin noir and duck confit.

Lamb rump and Breton fish stew were delivious and meal was made extra special value by a complimentary Negroni!

Excellent meal and service by Andrew general manager. We will definitely be going back.

The chateaubriand was amazing. Shame it’s a June special as we’d be there all the time. Must squeeze a few more in this month. Other than that, staff are lovely and ambience is just right.

We love cote and our son loves the salami sausage so this is where he chose to go for dinner on his 6th birthday. We did have to wait a very long time for our starters but the manager offered a discount for this which was appreciated. Only thing that would have been nice is a happy birthday written on the plate of my sons pudding. I do think this is a nice touch in restaurants.

This was my first visit to this restaurant in Welwyn Garden City. Would definitely return. The food was excellent and it was superb value for money. The staff were very attentive.

I had a huge fly in my dinner. Reported it to the management who took it away and obviously removed that dish from the bill. No other gesture was offered, no one seemed that disgusted or surprised. Totally ruined a special family meal, which wasn’t cheap and had a service charge added on without our permission

The food and the ambience was very good. However the staff could have been more attentive in service. The waiting time to serve dessert was long. It would have nice if coffee and dessert was served at the same time.

A great atmosphere, beautiful food and drinks. Good value for money and a large choice of mouthwatering dishes cooked very well. Very friendly service. Excellent baguette!
