Côte Winchester

The food and atmosphere at Cote is wonderful as are the staff. The only criticism is that it can get a bit noisy in the upstairs when busy as the noise seems to reverberate around the room. It won't stop us going there and is only noticeable when there are only two of us.

Great birthday meal in an atmospheric setting with good service. The team there looked after us very well and did not rush us. The only issue was that the Moules were a bit scrawny.

An excellent evening, maybe tables are a bit close together.

Enjoyable as always, this being my umpteenth visit. Tiny issues, would have liked a soup spoon for my soup( probs bit snobby), and poached egg for husbands starter was very cool. Super swift service but at the expense of cool but should have been hot egg. French onion soup was fab. Waiters very helpful and friendly maybe a little too so ......asked at least three or four times. But being very picky. Lovely vibe in the restaurant, busy as always. Would I go back , of course! Great food as always.

We love the food at Cote, but on this occasion our duck and dauphinois potatoes were only lukewarm. The staff were very good and dealt with it well. I look forward to a better meal next time.

Delicious food, great service and reasonable prices, Cote is a firm favourite with us. They have a superb menu with something for everyone, plus a wonderful ambience. It's always a pleasure.

It was good. The staff were great. I didn't feel the restaurant held much atmosphere. The food was better than average, although not exceptional by any stretch.

Dined at 5pm when restaurant was not overly busy but with a steady flow of customers. Great service not feeling overly rushed. Good choices ,something for everyone. I chose a chicken dish with beautiful mushroom sauce and delicious dauphinois potato. Followed by an ice cream dessert with beautiful dark chocolate sauce and posh wafers. Lovely early evening meal with friends.

Buzzy atmosphere in the Winchester branch on a Friday evening. Food of excellent standard and reasonable prices. Good service. Looking forward to returning!

The usual good food and drink at Cote’s. Had booked for the negronis but my friend wasn’t keen so we just had the set menu. Wasn’t sure about the starters but my pea, mint & courgette soup with pine nuts was very good. I asked if it came hot or cold and the waiter said whichever way I wanted it. I chose hot but think it would’ve been equally good cold. The mint really lifted the flavour. My friend had ham & celeriac roulade and was a bit disappointed it was served separately but enjoyed it, nonetheless. My chargrilled chicken harissa with white beans was delicious and spicy. My friend enjoyed her sea bream. I had your alcohol-free beer, just because I like it, and my friend had a couple of glasses of rose. I’ve knocked off a star because service of the main course was rather slow. We did take a while to order but had been there an hour before it arrived.

Excellent meal, good friendly service, enjoyed our evening so much and will come again . We did not have to wait long for our food but at no time did we feel rushed. My partner is gluten intolerant and she was given her own gluten recipe, a nice touch.

Nice meal and good service. Pity the cod goujons are not still on the menu. Please can you get a handrail on those steps my father in law stumbled and was saved by a tourist! I was there of course but couldn’t take his weight. He’s 94 and loves your restaurant!

It was a pleasant evening but felt a bit rushed at first to order our meal. It became noisy when a couple sat next to us as we were finishing we’re quite noisy and drunk, spoilt the evening a bit

Great food, great evening, and great service. However there were a lot of groups in one space making the environment very loud and sometimes hard to hear each other speak.

Really disappointed that the chateaubriand special was not available. We had an early evening table at 6pm and had already decided that we were going to chose this for our main course as had been sent a link through the newsletter. As we sat down and given the menus, there was no mention that this was not available. So when we ordered we were then told it was not available. We were told that they did not think it would be popular so not enough was ordered! Very disappointed Cote! 😞

We have eaten at Cote in several cities and have always had a good experience. Today we were going to the theatre in Winchester and so I booked table for 2 fro 6pm. Greeted by friendly staff. Unfortunately my partner's risotto arrived with large lumps of congealed uncooked rice - this was pointed out to our friendly waiter who took one look at it and agreed it was not good. He promptly took it away and offered to have another dish or choose something else from the menu. My partner is a vegetarian - ordering aborter risotto would mean a wait and that I would have to eat my meal on my own. Ditto ordering something else. And besides we did not have much time to wait as the show at the theatre was due to start at 7.30pm. So we declined the offer and continued with my chicken meal whilst my partner made do with a small side salad that we had ordered to share. We were not charged for the second meal but no more apology was offered. A most disappointing evening - just got home from theatre, absoultely starving and have had a cheeseburger on toast. My meal of the chicken was tasty but very small and hardly any chicken in it. The staff were, as usual, in other branches, very friendly but such a shame to be let down by the food. Amazed that the chef or the one who served the food onto a plate did not notice - or had they?

Our quiet family get-together prior to an upcoming funeral was made special by the attentive service, good food and pleasant atmosphere. This is not the first time we have visited this restaurant, and it has aways been very good.

The food and service is always consistent. We also believe that you get a good value for your money. We love dining here at least once a month.

Overall impressions when you first walk in are good and we were met by a smiling lady who took us to our table. The young lad who was to be our waiter was very friendly and professional. Four of us dined so we ordered a mix of different dishes which were all delicious. The whole atmosphere of the place is very nice and would highly recommend.

Always a good tasty meal here, they have never let us down. Very good selection to choose from at very reasonable prices.

Another evening meal enjoyed in our favorite restaurant. Food is always great filling and satisfying. Usual riendly service and value for money. Go try it.

Winchester Cote as usual was excellent. The lamp chops off the May specials menu were particularly good.

I have eaten at Cote on Winchester many times but this was one of the best meals ever. The courgette starter was new and delicious.

The service was excellent and the food very good indeed. Small changes were made to accommodate our tastes and everything was delivered quickly and hot to the table. Would definitely recommend!

6 of us met up for a family lunch and all were very pleased with the quality and service. The staff were amazing. My wife & I use Côte a lot. The other 4 were 1st timers. They will definitely use Côte again. May or may not be Winchester but certainly recommend it. Just brilliant.

Beware the "Meal deals". We were charged for something different. waiting staff tried to help and a nice gang.

We came the day before mothers day with are four year old daughter, we loved it there the service was amazing and the waiters were all proper gents, day recommend and will go again
