Service superb, food excellent, choices great. Only complaint, why pay the staff so low that you have to add a 12.50% gratuity to inflate their earnings instead of paying them a bit more? Whilst many wouldn't, I would have paid a tad more on the food to cover the tips, for instance our bill of £130+ included the 12.50% tip option. I would have paid the same amount happily knowing the staff were getting a reasonable wage!

The usual good food and drink at Cote’s. Had booked for the negronis but my friend wasn’t keen so we just had the set menu. Wasn’t sure about the starters but my pea, mint & courgette soup with pine nuts was very good. I asked if it came hot or cold and the waiter said whichever way I wanted it. I chose hot but think it would’ve been equally good cold. The mint really lifted the flavour. My friend had ham & celeriac roulade and was a bit disappointed it was served separately but enjoyed it, nonetheless. My chargrilled chicken harissa with white beans was delicious and spicy. My friend enjoyed her sea bream. I had your alcohol-free beer, just because I like it, and my friend had a couple of glasses of rose. I’ve knocked off a star because service of the main course was rather slow. We did take a while to order but had been there an hour before it arrived.

Great food, great evening, and great service. However there were a lot of groups in one space making the environment very loud and sometimes hard to hear each other speak.

We have eaten at Cote in several cities and have always had a good experience. Today we were going to the theatre in Winchester and so I booked table for 2 fro 6pm. Greeted by friendly staff. Unfortunately my partner's risotto arrived with large lumps of congealed uncooked rice - this was pointed out to our friendly waiter who took one look at it and agreed it was not good. He promptly took it away and offered to have another dish or choose something else from the menu. My partner is a vegetarian - ordering aborter risotto would mean a wait and that I would have to eat my meal on my own. Ditto ordering something else. And besides we did not have much time to wait as the show at the theatre was due to start at 7.30pm. So we declined the offer and continued with my chicken meal whilst my partner made do with a small side salad that we had ordered to share. We were not charged for the second meal but no more apology was offered. A most disappointing evening - just got home from theatre, absoultely starving and have had a cheeseburger on toast. My meal of the chicken was tasty but very small and hardly any chicken in it. The staff were, as usual, in other branches, very friendly but such a shame to be let down by the food. Amazed that the chef or the one who served the food onto a plate did not notice - or had they?

The food and service is always consistent. We also believe that you get a good value for your money. We love dining here at least once a month.

Felt like we were in the middle of a runway with the position of our table, then later found out we had been charged for bubbles we didn’t even order..... umm not really very happy about that you need to make it clear that you will be charged when giving the bubbles to customers! But on the flip side the food and service was excellent.

Cheerful and welcoming staff, good food, reasonably priced, nice atmosphere. A big shout out for the manageress - a sassy, smiling and friendly lady, with very good customer service.

Always love Cote, it is so consistent, which may sounds like faint praise but actually to deliver such fine food to a consistently high standard is a credit. Ever reliable like a favourite jumper, my wife and I will continue to come here for great service, great food and a great experience.

We like Cote restaurants & Winchester has a really nice one. There were a couple of hiccups last night but the friendly efficient staff put it right. Had breakfast there yesterday also again very pleasant. Will definitely be back when we are this way again

A warm welcome by friendly staff who are happy to deal with requests . Thoughtful towards elderly. The food is reliably good and arrives at table hot. Considerate towards allergies.

We were very disappointed with our visit to Côte in Winchester. It was my birthday and I was really looking forward to having a lovely brunch with my mum. When we sat down the waitress asked if we wanted a drink, I asked for an apple juice only to be told (very bluntly) that you didn’t have any. So I ordered a different drink and the waitress went off with our order. We then started looking at the menus, one of which was gluten free. Again this wasn’t as good as what we would have expected. So when the waitress eventually came back my mum asked a few questions about the gluten free menu, and the responses that she got were rude and blunt. The waitress just seemed like she really couldn’t be bothered and I don’t think you could have paid her to smile! We felt this just completely ruined our experience and decided in the end to just have our drinks and go elsewhere for our brunch. Really disappointing.

Cote always delivers. There is a good range of dishes available of an always excellent quality. The various deals available mean you don’t have to spend a fortune either, although the main menu is not that expensive either. On this occasion, in Winchester, the service was excellent - as it always is - with no delays - with just the right atmosphere. If I looked for a criticism, then perhaps a wider range of desserts would be nice, but frankly I can usually find something from what is available. My experience in Cote Winchester means I will be back there again soon, and am happy to eat at any Cote Brasserie when the opportunity arises.

Good meal overall, although had to wait a long time for a child's meal that had been requested to be served with the other's starters. Manager apologised later and deducted cost from the bill. Lamb loin chops very good. Pork Belly good but crackling not crisp. Burger good, but bacon needed to be cooked more to be slightly crispy.

It was ok, but having booked I’d hoped we get a nicer table than one in the corner next to the staff exit. That said the waiting staff were (as always) lovely - the French gent who served us was very attentive. My steak was a bit overdone for medium rare but not by enough to make a fuss. My wife’s meal was very good.

Breakfast wasn’t hot, fried eggs were like rubber so were sent back to be re done. We were asked then by 3 members of staff if the replacement was better! Toast and coffee could have been much hotter too. This is our third breakfast visit and each time it’s the same. I think now we’ll not bother again. Such a shame as usually service and atmosphere are pleasant and welcoming, sadly I’m not a fan of cold food.

Hi – we had a really great evening at Cote Brasserie last night and will definitely return. There were 6 of us in our party and we visit Cote Brasserie a good number of times a year together, and separately too – it’s definitely a favoured restaurant of ours. However, last night’s experience was marred by lukewarm food. Up until last night, we’ve always had good hot food, so it must be either down to kitchen equipment last night, or kitchen staff, so we only pass this information to you… a) because you have asked for feedback, and b) we think the kitchen staff should know. I believe there were 3 or 4 soups ordered, two of which were lukewarm. Then there were 4 chicken Parmentier dishes ordered, all four were lukewarm and although tasty, were very disappointing. The member of staff attending our table took one of the chicken dishes away to heat it up, but by the time the wait staff returned, the rest of us with the chicken dishes were at least half way through. Having said all of the above, the staff were faultless and we were indeed compensated, for which we are grateful. Again, we would not have complained but, the fact is I made the booking for last night’s ‘get together’ with our friends quite a way ahead, as we wanted to request the table in the upstairs bow window. I was told that was fine, but when we arrived last night we were told the table was not available now, as we were 6 and a party of 8 had come in. We ought, we believe, to have been offered some kind of compensation at that time. But, as I say, I would not have mentioned this but for the fact of the many tepid dishes we were served last night. So our disappointment is definitely with the lukewarm food. But, even tho we come from a way outside of Winchester to meet up with each other, we will continue to do so. For your interest we travelled from Upper Chute which is a 25 mile distance, from Goodworth Clatford and also from Chilbolton. We hope your kitchen staff are able to use our comments constructively.

Service was a bit slow. the staff could have been a little more upbeat. We have never liked the 12.5% service charge. It is a presumption, particularly as we always leave a tip (unless the service is awful!). We like the menu, it is well presented and good quality food. So we will be back.

Food was consistently good as usual. Service was friendly but a little sparse. Bill came with ‘optional’ 12.5% tip but the server was unsure how to use the card machine when we choose to apply a different level of tip. If you are going to add an ‘optional’ charge, please train your staff to deal with alternative levels of gratuity. .

Lovely breakfast, good service. Only negative the bacon baguette was a little over crispy - maybe untoaasted baguette would be better? Need to put butter on the baguette as well.

Great meal excellent service good atmosphere. My daughter is coeliac and we could not fault the way she was looked after. The manager made sure the choices were correct and then made sure they were delivered to the table, nothing was too much trouble. If you are coeliac you should go here to eat as you can do so with confidence.

We had an enjoyable meal. The service was good. My fish dish was served with sliced potatoes which were very much undercooked but the plate was taken away and a fresh plate with well cooked potatoes was provided. We were pleasantly surprised when the waitress advised us that we were not being charged for our coffee as an apology for the fish dish having to be replaced - very good customer service, thank you.
