Cowshed - Liverpool

We loved almost everything about our visit. We ordered the Greedy Cow with Butternut squash & Savoy cabbage as our sides. Delicious! Our only negative was the Nutella cheesecake. It doesn’t taste anything like Nutella! It is a chocolate cheescake, which fine, but not when you’re expecting Nutella.

Lovely building and excellent staff - good service . Medium well fillet was cut into butterfly resulting in it being overdone and hard to chew . Medium fillet - raw and the meat actually smelt . Everyone has their own taste as to how a steak should be cooked but neither was really acceptable .

Meal was amazing but the chair are very uncomfortable if you dont get a booth. Did spoil my meal. If booking request a booth seat

Food was so good . Staff were lovely . Had the special and it was unreal. Starters amazing too . Could not fault .. 5 star

Great food, reasonably priced, great staff. Been twice and had the same waiter twice and both times is was too of his form. Will definitely be back.

This has become my favourite restaurant within the city, perfectly located, friendly staff, and the food is absolutely delicious and incredible, recommend to anyone.

Nice place, nice decor, great serving staff, and thankfully the food was well up to standard. For a Valentines meal it was rather competitively priced too, with three courses and two drinks coming to £80. Not cheap by any means, but I don't feel as gouged as I have been on Valentines day.

Heard the cow shed had the best steak in Liverpool, very hard to get a table but finally got one on a Sunday evening. When we arrived the restaurant was a little smaller than I expected but the tables were roomy enough, very comfy & cosy. Staff were very friendly & welcoming, took our orders very promptly, food was out of this world, defiantly lived upto the expectations & will definatly be returning

Great location and venue. Waitress was a little forgetful but the food was great. Would most definatley visit again if i am to visit Liverpool

Read the positive trip advisor reviews before booking for lunch and we weren’t disappointed. Tasteful decor and fantastic food - including the vegetarian option. We will return when next visiting our son at university.

Great meal, Great service, Great atmosphere. Spendig time in Liverpool for work and this was a real flavour of home. Quirky a house renovated into a restaurant. Would highly recommend.

Food was amazing. We had the greedy cows and ribeye steak was slightly overdone (more medium than medium rare) but flavour was still great and the other 2 steaks on the plate were incredible so didn’t feel it justified to say something. Service was lovely- all staff really friendly and welcoming. Only criticism was we were placed on a table in the middle of the room which we found quite uncomfortable as there was no privacy. When the first table available left we asked if we could be moved (when hadn’t even ordered at this point)- we were advised that the booths were for tables of 4. The next few couples so 2 people that came in to the room were seated at these booths...that were supposedly for 4 people.

If you are visiting Liverpool can highly recommend a visit to the Cowshed. We had the Rump Ribeye and Flatiron steaks which were perfectly cooked tender and full of flavour.The sides were excellent as well.Staff were very pleasant and welcoming.

Brilliant steaks, I'd say the best I've ever had! The service was fantastic and very efficient, I'd definitely recommend this for anyone who's a fan of their steaks

We arrived early and was treated with a table straight away. Staff were very relaxed and friendly and the food was amazing! Will definitely be coming again!

Absolutely lovely meal at cowshed for my birthday last night. The place, food and staff were all great. Deffo recommend it to anyone who likes a good steak. Sides were all lovely too and of course the nutella cheesecake!

Had a table booked for 10pm as this was the only time available a couple of days prior to getting to Liverpool, a good sign I thought. Had a few scoops along the street at Pogue Malones which was a cracking boozer, arrived bang on 10pm to be told our table had ran over & asked if we would like a drink in the little bar area, chose a reasonable bottle of red, £18 ish? Spotless small bar with attentive staff, they were cleaning the wine glasses with particular diligence (another good sign I thought) 10:15 and the smell of the food upstairs was certainly getting our mouths watering but it was getting a tad late, starting our second glass and the manager came over to us to apologise and assure it would be moments for our table to be ready, without any hesitation he also insisted on our bottle of wine being on the house for the wait. We knew exactly what we wanted as had been looking at the menu for days! The Greedy Cow, Savoy cabbage, garlic mushrooms, garlic sauce , blue cheese sauce and chips and WOW was it worth the wait. I can only say it is simply THE best steak we have ever eaten, the sides were divine, particularly the cabbage in chorizo sauce, every member of waiting staff were super friendly without being cheesy, knowledgeable, helpful & professional, my Mrs has the cheesecake as a sweet. A world class dining experience and amazing value. They should be exceptionally proud of the stunning yet small menu they have here. Stick to what you’re good at is a phrase often heard but seldom heeded in the restaurant game . Brilliant music in also!! Worth a trip to Liverpool just to eat here. 10/10. Magnificent

So very nice place. Staff excellent. Food good, but not extraordinary. Had fillet steak with pepper sauce for me and bearnaise for my wife. She was disappointed with the sauce. Starters verdy good. Dessert ok.

Food was absolutely delicious. We were concerned sharing platter wouldn’t be enough but it was amazing! Waitor and waitressing service was excellent. Very attentive and looked after us! Would definitely come again 😊

Probably the nicest steak I’ve ever had. Definitely the best I’ve ever had in Liverpool. Quality was incredible and staff were so lovely to be around!

All round a really nice restaurant and really friendly helpful staff. The steaks however for me are a let down, I had higher expectations. The steaks were very basic, no dry aged options or special cuts. I normally enjoy a 16oz+ Ribeye but was left only with the option of an 8oz Ribeye which disappeared in a few bites which left me wanting more. I'd recommend Cowshed if somebody who wasn't really into steak wanted to eat somewhere nice but I would stick to Miller & Carter for the finer options.
