Cut Bothwell

Food was mediocre. Presentation awful. The small metal tins for side dishes look like left over steak pie tins. Chateaubriand was NOT worth the money. Came sliced I believe to hide the fact it wasn’t 16oz - one for trading standards I think.

The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. I was disappointed with the starter. Scallops were quite small and the dish needed more flavour. Was a bit disappointed with the wine too.

Went for the Sunday lunch. We had a starter of Arancini and the Roast Sirloin of Beef lunch with 2 juices and 2 latte coffees, bill came to £34, not too bad if it was worth it. My daughter found a thin piece of plastic in the Arancini, mentioned it to the waiter and he did say he would notify the chef. This immediately put us both off eating anymore and very wary of the next course. The roast beef was nice tasting but very cold, also the mashed potatoes were cold, roast potatoes warm and large Yorkshire pudding with small serving of gravy, veg also cold. This was our first time at Cut and had previously been to the establishment when if was Indian Manor, which we did enjoy. Younger staff quite pleasant but not sure if it was manager or owner could have been more pleasant with maybe a smile or two. We wanted to try this before we went as a group for a steak meal but with the service and meal we will certainly not be trying it ever again.

The food was excellent absolutely no complaints, it was great value for money and would definitely recommend this restaurant. The service was good with lovely surroundings.

Food was quite average on this visit. Which was disappointing. Will try again though as it may have been a blip. We had a burger and chips which was under par.

Table ready at the time booking. Nice surroundings. Good range of cuts available (as the name suggests). Very good service. Attentive professional staff. Great steaks, cooked as per requests. Bit pricey though.

lovely restaurant, decor very nice. Son had t-bone steak and enjoyed it although very expensive but I suppose that is what you pay for steaks. The rest of us ate from pre-theatre menu and enjoyed the food. Will come back I am sure.

Oysters too start were great and porterhouse cooked too perfection.Woyid recommend.Only very small and only small point was it slightly slow at some points.Would go again

First visit and enjoyed the selection from the pretheatre menu which was value for money. It was a relaxing setting but service was a bit slow considering the place was not too busy.

Disappointing that we weren’t allowed to eat in the main restaurant during lunchtime, only the bar. The starters were disappointing too, but the main courses were better.

First time visiting and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Steak was amazing as was the hand cut chips! Very polite and helpful staff and lovely decor. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

Food AMAZING!! let down by the poor service. More staff would have ensured people weren't sitting about for ages waiting on a drink, then to place order, wait for food, wait for plates to be cleared etc... neglecting your visitors will not encourage people to come back no matter how good the food is.

Visit was good. Food was lovely as were cocktails. Market menu was good value otherwise a little pricey.

Both my wife and I enjoyed the meal which was served in a timely fashion. Only criticism is cost is a little pricey when compared to local equivalent venues

First time at CUT Bothwell for a girly lunch. Fantastic food, the steak was cooked to perfection. Service fab too! Will be recommending to friends and revisiting soon.

Very good food but the noise from the bar area was very loud and spoilt the overall dining experience. Would have been good if they closed the doors to seperate the two areas. Other than that very good.

Food good. Service ok. Lacking atmosphere. Very good choice on the menu. The wine list was very good and fairly priced. Would definitely go back again.

The restaurant is chic and very modern. The food is high quality very several option to compliment your choice meat. The staff are welcoming, friendly and professional. Cut is priced to the quality you receive. Would recommend.

The rump steak had an overwhelming taste of burnt which I didn’t enjoy. Other than that, there wasn’t much taste at all. Also waited over 20 minutes for the bill which we then had to end up getting to ask for it ourselves.

Loved it. Great food and great service. Outdoor area is perfect for chilling especially while the sun is shining. Would definitely go back again soon.

Food was brilliant, service was quick, venue was nice and clean

Value is pretty good. Steaks are very good. Fries are so so. Fish and Chips was very tasty but a bit mean on portion size for £12. Bit noisy due to the wooden floor. Needs a nice carpet and some ambiance.

Great food. I would have preferred a greater choice of starters. Noise in the dining room from other patrons was terrible. Steaks were excellent though. Also the olives were the best I’ve ever had.

The bar is a nice quiet area and I would suggest a good place to enjoy a quiet meal. We ate in the main restaurant where the food and the wine were excellent. We both found it very noisy and although it was a busy Friday the hard decor didn't help to suppress the noise during the meal. There were plenty of friendly staff with a couple of stars but service was slow so go prepared to relax. Choice of premium drinks was good but disappointed they have only one base Scottish whisky for use with mixers and they didn't have base garnishes for gins. It has the potential to be excellent based on the food.

Excellent Meal. My wife and I enjoyed a truly wonderful meal. I would highly recommend ‘Cut’ in Bothwell to anyone looking to commemorate an occasion.

Restaurant was lovely, service was a bit slow. Food was good however.

We enjoyed the food, the burger and wings were excellent and the staff service was fantastic, we will be back again soon at some point.

1. Booked a table in the restaurant but was shown to a table next to the bar. 2. Asked for a lager & lime, drink came without the lime. 3. Ordered a T bone steak only for waiter to return telling me they had run out of T bone steaks - in a steakhouse? 4. Asked for an Americanomwith hot milk, waitress returned with a Capucino. 5. On pointing this out she returned with the Americano devoid of the hot milk. 6. Wife asked for a Strawberry Dacquary and was asked if she wished it served frozen or normal. She opted for frozen only for waiter to return saying that blender was broken therefore only normal Dacquary was available. Need I say more!

Myself and best friend had a fab time... Food was delicious.. Lovely waiter, service first class.. My fiend is returning on Saturday with her husband so he can try their food. He won't be disappointed..

Great food!!service was painfully slow and constantly waiting/prompting for drinks after ordering. 3 hours for 4 people....took longer than most tasting menus.....did enjoy the meal though

First visit to CUT. Visited for an impromptu dinner with my partner. We chose to eat from the a la carte menu (we just missed the cut of for the Market Menu which I would like to sample). We both chose the steak rump. We both like our steaks medium and this did not disappoint. Also excellent sides; mash and skinny fries. I also chose to add scallops (my partner added haggis) - both generous portions. We decided to them go for dessert. My partner chose a gorgeous carrot cake with rum vanilla icing. I chose the dark chocolate and vanilla cheesecake. Was slightly disappointed that it was basically a plain cheese cake with some dark chocolate sauce. Still nice but not what expected. We will definitely be back. Have also recommended to a few friends who live in Bothwell.
