Really enjoyed our meals, very well cooked and flavoursome but I’m afraid to say that the food could have been hotter especially my husband’s as he said his was lukewarm. Good service and a lovely atmosphere.

A warm welcome upon arrival , a great menu fantastic food. The staff are always ever so helpful , the sad part is leaving .......but you can always go back :-)

Food was beautiful staff were lovely but the three men on next table actually spoilt my birthday meal with bad language and rude remarks about the restaurant, the service and in general Carlisle itself

From start to finish it was fantastic, Chris welcomed us at the door and the staff looked after us throughout or stay. The food was second to none and just melted in our mouths, definitely going again. A* all the way . Thank you

Disappointing, we were sat downstairs and the overall feeling of our group was, that they had forgotten about us. The wait time for our bill was over 45 minutes, not acceptable. Will we return, doubtful.

Great atmosphere for our festive Friday get together. Food was absolutely amazing & couldn’t fault the service.

Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff and delicious food, thoroughly enjoyed by our whole party.

Overall the food was lovely however, one of our party was gluten free and she she was a bit disappointed with her turkey trimmings as she recevied no pigs in blankets, stuffing or parsnips (so didn't really feel like a Christmas lunch). The music was a little too loud also especially as the restaurant filled up.

Food was fine, service was ok but we were bitterly cold, it didn’t seem like The heating was on in the restaurant or at best it wasn’t coping, it was a frosty day outside but I did not expect to be freezing on the inside, we had our scarfs on all the time as did other guests, spoiled a nice treat

I have been to David's many times before, over recent years. The first thing I noticed from my previous visits was that we were not asked our name to confirm our booking and told to sit where we wanted. It is nice to be greeted and expected and to be shown a table that has been reserved for you.....the little touches. Initial service was very quick and polite but lacked the 'personal' touch of the past. The food, as always, was beautiful although the tasty soup I had was luke warm. The mains were very nice and hot. Tea, coffee and cheese and biscuits were ordered for after a. Unfortunately we had almost finished our tea and coffee by the time the cheese and biscuits arrived. Two other tables of diners were offered a discount on their bill; one appeared to have no figs in the fig and pear starter....apparently chef had ran out of figs?? And another table waited so long for one of their starters that the other had gone cold and needed to be replaced. Overall it was an enjoyable evening but very much lacked the personal touch that once was. Would really have to think again before returning.
