We’ve been dining at David’s for several years now and have always had an excellent meal with excellent service. Chris always has time to answer any questions and have a chat with everyone, which makes you feel very welcome. Highly recommended👏

Wonderful food. Great warm friendly service nothing too much trouble. Good selection of wines. Made my birthday very special.

Three of us had booked dinner for 8pm, but we were almost half an hour early. However, this was no problem at all, we were warmly welcomed and shown to a lovely table in the downstairs room. We then ate 3 courses of some of the best food we've had for a long time (and we eat out A LOT!), all served by charming staff. There was music but it was just in the background and not intrusive. The tempura king prawns were beautifully crispy and had a really good sweet chilli dipping sauce and the pork cheeks were lovely and tender. My partner's fillet of beef was perfectly rare as requested, the venison and duck were both as tender and tasty as you could wish and the puddings were also lovely (I particularly loved my chocolate and Biscoff parfait.) All in all, we really couldn't fault anything and would heartily recommend the restaurant - if we're ever in Carlisle again it will be our first port of call!

Great atmosphere matched by the quality of the food and dining experience. Only comment was the dress wear of the hosts - perhaps a little too casual? Didn't spoil the experience in any way though

Lovely lunch at David's yet again. It was our 48th Wedding anniversary and we had a romantic experience with good food and wine. Friendly staff.

This was our last evening before completing the Hadrians Way walk and fully lived up to our high expectations. Congratulations on food, service and atmosphere.

Everything was fine except the portioning of the ice cream balls. Somebody needs training in the art of quenelles. Twice now I've had a hollow scoop, disappointing! as I just love a quality vanilla.
