Excellent food !!!..3rd time I've been. Good friendly service, nice atmosphere . Very good value too, will be back in 2019 and if you like indian food i would definitely recommend .

They serve some quality food and have a good vibe, service could have been better but generally can't fault the place. Surely will be back again soon

Food was great and can recommend the mix grill starter!! Good selection of beers in the bar also. The quality of the chicken in the main dishes could be improve in my view, but great tasting food

Fantastic food. Great welcome. Perfect evening!!! The cooking is if anything improving. There should be a Hen & Chickens fan club!! Word has already spread to Bristol and to Exeter.

A group of 6 of us went for our team lunch. We liked Hen and Chickens and would definitely go back again. To put it briefly, there was quick service, nice staff and a good atmosphere.

Hen and Chickens is my favourite curry place in Birmingham! Food, service and interior is great! Love this place, I used to eat from here on a weekly basis when I lived in Birmingham. Miss it!

Buzzing atmosphere on a Saturday night service was excellent, food was really fresh tasting. The sides were perfect . We didn’t manage to finish only because the portions are so generous

This place was joint effort creation by the Gods of Indian Food and Dining as a gift for us mere mortals to enjoy. The Chef who cooked the Large Sizzling Grill deserves a knighthood. #Bangin

It has to be one of the best desi pubs in Birmingham. The food is lovely, staff friendly and attentive. Good range of single malts, beers and gins.

Super as always. Great mixed grill. Good beer and spirits. And nice relaxed atmosphere. The price is excellent. 15 pounds per head and you leave full.

Always enjoy going to Hen and Chickens, love their food. Comes hot from the chicken and always leaving you wanting more for the next visit. Not only fab food, fab environment and friendly staff.

I definitely recommend booking a table especially on weekends, it definitely helps. Despite how busy it was, our food arrived fairly quick. Food is always to a great standard. And the staff are always nice and welcoming.

This is a wonderful pub serving the best curries. We didn't have the famous mixed grill last night but the sight and smells of it are enough to tempt me back. Our food was excellent, particularly Chicken Bhuna and Lamb Saag. Beer choice is great and the service is friendly and efficient. Very busy pub, so book ahead.

Excellent naan bread and curry was spot on. All the staff were great to us and the pub itself feels like you would always be welcome.

Lovely Indian food, carefully cooked. This was my third visit here. The grilled meats are delicious, and the curries are very tasty too. The saag paneer today was outstanding. The fish pakora and fish curry are also very good. Delicious cocktails today. There is a good range of gin and wine too, as well as a selection of beer and cider. The service was very attentive too. This is a lovely old pub that has been beautifully restored. It is cosy and welcoming, with great food and drink.

The food was good but it’s a shame the overall experience was let down by the poor service and extremely rude staff who turned out to be the owners!

Lovely freshly prepared food, the portions at the Hen & Chickens are always very substantial. The room at the back is probably the best place in the pub to eat, it's away from the very busy bar area and has a very cosy feel to it.

Food good .... atmosphere good.... reasonably priced menu. Very busy for a Wednesday evening.... a very odd ‘no hat’ policy? However worth a visit. .

Nice staff and food was generally good. One of my samosas was still partly frozen in the middle when I bit into it which meant they were probably not hand madd which was disappointing. Best to eat in lounge at back as gets too noisy with 3 tv screens in bar. Price was more than if we’d gone to Ladypool Road but we will definitely come back.

Really good food. Great Grilled Meats, lovely curries , fab breads and regularly great new dishes. Its NOT Michelin but décor appropriate for locale. Strongly recommended.,

Amazing food but alcohol expensive so be careful a large glass of Pinot Grigio £6.50 ! but amazing food will be back! Defo recommend king Prawn curry was incredible

Great food and had a couple of real ales on tap too. A little pricey but I think that paid off with the quality of the food. I would definitely be going back.

The range of food was excellent, delicious and quickly prepared. It would have been useful to know that the main dishes were also available as vegetarian options as this could have put us off from dining here. We were placed on a table in the main bar, which was a lot noisier than the other rooms which seemed to have a nicer atmosphere, so that was the only downside. The food itself was absolutely delicious, obviously freshly prepared and the service and prices were really excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be visiting again!

Pleasant experience overall, excellent food, costs are reasonable for dining aspects but soft drink pricing is a little OTT. Atmosphere is lively and pleasant however staff could be a little more cheerful.

Good curry, good beer,friendly staff, nice pub. Has sky sports if that's your thing but I think most people are there for the fabulous food.

Really good food and decent pub. Great idea and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Birmingham. Also has Sky/BT sport for all the sporting action.

Service brilliant, good advice on food as my partner is not keen on anything 'too hot'. All the staff are pleasant & the pub decor is in keeping with an old city pub.
