Me & my husband had a warm welcome & the 2 girls that looked after us were amazing, we will definitely be back again
Lovely food, staff & atmosphere, great value & fab night
Great staff who were attentive but not over powering. Lovely food and the house wine was delicious.
Having bookedcwhen we arrived we were told because it was full there would be at least a 40 minute wait for main courses. As we were going to Conert Halll for a performance too late to go elsewhare. We optedcforcstarters which were delicious but still a long wait, and had to keep prompting staff for things we'd ordered like bread, coffee had ATG card. Either not enough staff or bit more work on organisation and planning needed in kitchen and on floor, which is surprising for such a experienced establishment and this was having booked sothey knew numbers they were catering for.
Not the cheapest deal but the food is always of a high standard, presentation thoughtful, staff excellent. Timely too to get to our show.
Very pleasant service from staff. Food well presented and tasty.

Brilliant and thoroughly enjoyable meal and would recommend thank you
All seven of us really enjoyed our food - some had been before, some hadn't - and everyone said they would go back.
Excellent food, good service and ambience. Very close to theatres and concert hall. Good pre theatre value.
Lovely meal. Efficient and friendly staff. Prompt service. Pleasant atmosphere.
2nd recent visit. Food was lovely and very pleasant staff.
Food was good but don’t recommend before Concert/theatre. Had to repeat coffee request 3 times. The bill came on request but no coffee. Complained and had to cancel coffee as now late for Concert. Waiter Seemed to think it was grand gesture to remove cost of coffee we never got from bill. We made it to show in nick of time. Stressful end to pleasant meal
Very nice meal and ambience. Attentive service and good value for money.
We were sitting near the hotel reception end and it was a bit cold. We didn’t ask to move as the restaurant seemed busy but apart from that it was very good
Lovely meal, very friendly and accommodating staff. Will come back.
Gorgeous surroundings & very friendly, bubbly attentive staff. A lovely experience & i will definitely travel from West Lothian for another visit. Very tasty food, a real treat.
Absolutely perfect in all areas..food delicious, going again for lunch next week
A visit to La Bonne Auberge is always a pleasure. This was no exception.

Excellent service, good quality food and pleasant atmosphere and attentive staff
Food was lovely and the service was very good. Had a lovely time
Service charming - but rather slow to get underway. Food quality good(ish).
Lovely staff. Good food choices. Salmon mains was perfectly cooked. Good range of drinks.
Overall I was disappointed in our visit last night. We were taking my elderly mum and dad to the theatre at 7.30pm so I booked for 5.15pm thinking that would be more than enough time. Our waitress Leila was delightful and I find no fault with her. We were seated in the conservatory and I found it very cold and had to put my outdoor jacket back on. We chose the two course fixed price menu and opted for main courses and dessert.. The food, when it eventually arrived was fine but I thought my serving of salmon and couscous was really small. The couscous, sun dried tomatoes and chorizo, was tasty enough but there was only one tiny cube of chorizo in it. We then waited for a very long time and still no desserts. My husband had to say to the waiting staff that we were going to the theatre and could we have our desserts. We got them at 7.10pm, almost two hours after we sat down. We had to eat our desserts quickly and had no time for tea or coffee. I am so disappointed because we like La Bonne Auberge and always take my parents there when we go to the theatre. However, after last night’s experience, I don’t think we will go back.
delay in serving food meant we didn't have time for a pre-theatre 2 course dinner & coffee in 1hr 20mins (it was fine in the past)
First class cuisine served in a clean and well managed restaurant.
Excellent food as always and very well looked after by all staff with a special thank you to Douglas.
Very pleasant enjoyable visit as on previous occasions Will be back
Good service. Good fine except for pay extra£2 for blue cheese...non existent on burger. Did tell waitress when cleared table.
Served by three different people, no continuity of service. Ordered desserts and had to ask for them to be speeded up as we were going to a show. Unfortunately this did not happen so we had to cancel them and leave. No meaningful apologies given. The place was not at all busy so don't know why service so slow. Neither dessert involved any cooking or heating! The menus are quite short now so not much choice.
It took ages to get the bill and when it arrived the food had been left off the bill. It took 15 minutes for the waitress to get it sorted and we were nearly late for a special concert.
Staff were great. Only complaint was the food could have been hotter. Think it maybe was left on the counter waiting to be delivered to our table.
Catch-up with an old girl friend. Amazing how quickly a couple of hours can pass when you are having fun. We then went to the hotel upstairs and pleasured each other for several hours - not bad for a couple of old Baby Boomers, in their eighth decade. This restaurant has something going for it.
Great meal, great service, great atmosphere, definitely be back again
Enjoyed the food very much and the service was good.
Staff nice but food was far from great, would not rush back.
We liked the restaurant very very very very very much.
A very enjoyable evening. Joe, our waiter was very attentive.
predictably top quality enjoyed the experience no further comment needed
Disappointing. Service could have been better. Restaurant uncomfortably cold.. Sadly won’t be rushing back.
Lovely food well presented and cooked to perfection. Attentive and courteous staff.
We were very well satisfied. It is several years since I dined there and I found everything about this visit notably emjoyable.
Great lunch. Always delicious hot food and such a great combo for the lunchtime special. It’s nothing short of genius!
Only fixed price menu available. When booked asked for all day menu and was told ok but on arrival advised too busy.
Excellent meal, service and surroundings. Thanks La Bonne Auberge. Be back soon
As a venue for a pre-theatre meal, it was perfect.
