Langar Hall

Probably the best dinner we have had here. A wonderful evening with attentive but informal service, good food and birthday treats! Thank you. We will be back.

Very limited as a pescatarian and no vegetarian option for main. Food portion were very small, assumption that all customers have 3 courses leave 2 coursed customers hungry. Expensive for what we received however, staff excellent, environment lovely.

The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Needed to be more atmosphere in seating area as people were whispering to each other. The canopies compliments from the chef were placed on our table but were not explained to us, so it was a guessing game on what we were eating, although they were delicious. Well worth a visit.

Delicious food, made with a variety of interesting ingredients, some of which I couldn't identify. An offer was made to let me know what a particular ingredient was, but no answer came. I think slices of a small member of the gourd family? Anyway it was delicious. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and made a lovely birthday present for my friend.

Fabulous Sunday lunch the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were excellent, lovely little bar for pre lunch drinks. We will be back.

A fabulous hotel and restaurant like Langar Hall needs to maintain the highest standards, so, for example, popcorn spillage on the table from previous guests should have been cleared up before we were shown to that lounge table for our pre-dinner drinks and our bill should not have clumsily added on drinks that we didn’t order. Oh and it would have been more welcoming if the receptionist hadn't asked us on arrival if we’d been to Langar Hall before, when we’ve been regular customers for the last thirty years! I guess we’ve been spoilt by the late, great Imogen’s impeccable hospitality.

Amazing! As a chef myself I highly recommend. I will return shortly to try their autumn menu. Beautiful venue. Great service and friendly staff. Well worth it.

We're so lucky to have Langar Hall just 5 minutes down the road. It's our go to place when we feel like being spoilt. Once again, today's lunch was as delicious as ever and the staff were their usual welcoming and helpful selves. We're going again in 2 weeks with our Australian relatives - so looking forward to it and I know they'll love it too.

A beautiful 18th century country house set in classical English countryside Langar Hall oozes a quixotic blend of elegance with heart warming touches of eccentric quirkiness , a fabulous place to spend time. The service is discrete, professional yet warmly welcoming and friendly creating a truly wonderful experience. And then there is the food.....marvellous! Delicious dishes elegantly presented , culinary artistry on a plate serving food that does not disappoint in flavour, texture and delight. Thank you Langar Hall, we will be back!!

The most amazing food we have ever had - the perfect setting for a special birthday. The little "extra" dishes were really nice. Hotel overnight stay was amazing too. Will definitely be back.

Unfortunately my dietary requirements were not past on to the chef beforehand who he’d limited my choice. Equally we I did say it was our wedding anniversary this was also not past on which was a shame. Maybe I will try for his birthday. The chef was very accommodating with my meal which was delicious, my husband also enjoyed his dinner.

Fabulous meal! Took my 94 year old mother who loved it . Chelse souffle superb as usual. First class service. Ambiance sophisticated and genteel. Will be back soon Can't wait!

A place we have been to many times and we have seldom been disappointed. Really exciting food but not a cheap experience. A real sense of occasion fulfilled.

As always a very good meal in a delightful setting.

Wonderful venue with terrific service and food. Really enjoyed our dinner. The dessert (bitter chocolate cremeux with passionfruit and coconut sorbet) was the highlight. Loved the drinks list and wine list too. Will return.

Fabulous, friendly and attentive service and the food is simply amazing. My only small criticism was a long wait between main course and dessert, on the other hand, it was nice not to feel rushed and to be offered small ‘treats’ whilst waiting.

A lovely afternoon in a beautiful setting. Two menus on offered: a lunch time and an a la carte. The food was fabulous along with the service. Would highly recommend for fine dinning.

A lovely evening from start to finish. Amazing drinks menu - Ross' Bloody Sparkles are highly recommended! Service is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Food is just wonderful - perfect place for a special occasion or, in our case as we don't live close by, an annual treat!

A lovely environment with a good not so run of the mill menu at affordable prices. The staff were appropriately attentive and looked like they were committed to the good service at their do establishment. We choose the lunch menu. The food was delicious. Good starter. I think the portions of the main courses could be increased to ensure that all diners leave satisfied. (Hence the 5/6 rating). We didn't have a desert so that was our fault LOL. That said, despite my judgement on the size of my main dish, I left feeling very happy with the tastes and felt that I'd had a good 2 course meal with coffee for around £25.00. Overall one should feel this is a good price for a tasty meal at a lovely place.

Lovely food and service. Slightly spoilt by flies - I know there’s not a great deal that can be done about them in an old building in parkland but they were very annoying.

Dinner at Langar Hall. A very pleasant evening spent in comfortable surroundings The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We were there in a four to celebrate a birthday and my friend’s name and Happy birthday was printed at the top of each menu. We will certainly visit again.

As usual the whole experience at Langar Hall was excellent. The welcome was friendly, the ambience wonderful, the service prompt and thoughtful and the food superb. We are always made to feel special here. Never more so than when we got married here four years ago - a truly perfect day - and the ideal place to return to for any occasion be it a special celebration or just a lovely meal out.

Wonderful setting, great food and service. Not cheap but great for a special occasion. Our German friends were very impressed! It's local for us and will definitely go again.

Excellent surroundings and establishment. Food was good value for money - only slight quibble was two of our diners were not seated but the meals were delivered anyway, risking them not being hot for eating. That aside very attentive and a great way to spend an afternoon.

Beautiful food in wonderful surroundings but poor start to the experience. We were 5 minutes late and we were asked to wait in the bar until our table was ready; service to actually get a drink in the bar was very, very slow. Once seated in the dining room it quite quickly became evident that there was an issue with flies - they were everywhere. All that being said it was my second visit and I will return as the food and surroundings make up for it.

We have been going to Langar Hall for nearly 20 years and it never disappoints, great food, good selection of wines, attentive friendly staff and excellent service. Great place for a special occasion or just because you deserve it!

Excellent evening. This was not our first visit and we took a friend with us who was totally entranced by it all. The food was first class and the service fabulous as usual.

Beautiful surrounds with Lovely cooking. Menu has plenty of choice and very well priced. We had a half bottle of fleurie, very good value. We sat outside at the beginning and at the end of the meal in the glorious sunshine, you would be pushed to find a more beautiful place?

Fabulous venue, outstanding food and lovely staff! The perfect lunch venue- and dinner for that matter! I have been going for 25 years and it’s always a special occasion.

Good food. Lovely place to eat. Booked for 19-15 but didn't eat until about 20-15. But such a lovely place and in no rush it didn't really matter.

Poor service. I have been to Langar Hall many times over the years and although quirky have always enjoyed the experience until today. Whilst always a bit country house shabby chic it is now looking very tired in places. The real issue today however was the average food and shocking service. We were given a table for four in the side room, initially on our own, the table was actually really oddly shaped (two small tables pushed together against the wall) - conversation for four was a shout across the table given the distance! When I gently reminded the waitress bringing our main courses that I was still waiting for the wine list she said "oh we have 70 people in today and we're being pulled in all directions". Enough said.

Lovely setting, excellent food, excellent staff, excellent service. When you book let them know if it is a special occasion and they will make sure it is suitably memorable.

The location is lovely. We found the staff to be very friendly and the food was gorgeous. We will definitely be returning in the not too distant future.

Location, ambience, service, and quality of food, including choice meets our satisfaction levels. It is not the first time that we've been and wont be the last.

Langar Hall has been a favourite for many years and today's experience was superb for service food and setting. High quality fine cuisine. Imogen would have been proud they are maintaining her standards.

Fantastic food and service. Made to feel so welcome and looked after. My husband has special dietary requirements which they accommodated without issue. Views and location are stunning. Will definitely be returning.
