Another great evening at Maxim’s. Always our chosen venue for a birthday celebration as it never disappoints. There is no background music which makes any visit a peaceful, pleasant experience. If only more restaurants would follow their example!

The food as always was excellent. However it is the service that is consistently good as well. The crispy duck was aromatic and succulent. The hoisin sauce not synthetic.or cloying and the pancakes a good texture and warm. My favourite course. The soft shell crab was crispy and divine. I will order that again. The sizzling lamb and pork belly full of flavour and egg fried rice fluffy and Singapore noodles full of taste. We washed this down with prosecco which was lovely and not at all acidic or sweet. We finished our birthday feast with a selection of riffs bananas and ice cream and lychees.. the latter to conjure up my childhood memories of desserts in Chinese restaurants in the 80s. Our waiter was so friendly and most importantly my discerning mother liked her pre birthday dinner. Thank you Maxims.

The food was overcooked and warm and the rice was very salty and no real texture to it. Rice is supposed to be fluffy and light and it was hard and heavy.

Bland standard food, the take away is far superior. Service was shocking and the the ‘stir fried vegetables’ for an extra £6 (as no meat dishes come with vegetables) are slimy and cold. Awful

Food was average and we were basically rushed out, I had 3 staff (including the manager) ask about our mains in the space of a minute. It was my mums birthday, and they really ensured we regretted our decision to book here. Won’t be returning.

Excellent service, exceptional food and a really great atmosphere. It was a busy night but the tables were far enough apart that it didn't feel noisy. Far and away the best Chinese food I've eaten.

We were so glad we booked as the restaurant was packed! Always a lovely atmosphere. Service was good inspite of being busy. Food, very tasty and big portions. We had a set menu and couldn’t eat it all, so they gave us a doggy bag to take home. Prices are reasonable too. In short a really enjoyable evening. Would ( and have) recommended to others.

As always, we had a great time at Maxim, our favourite Chinese restaurant in West London. It's always busy because of its popularity with a real buzz about the place but the tables are well spaced so there are never any problems with conversation. The food was of the usual high standard: the classic fragrant crispy duck shared as a starter is always a treat, and our mains included pork slices with aubergine, shredded beef, and chicken with cashew nuts ~ all tip-top. Service was impeccable: both efficient and friendly.
