Maxim Chinese Restaurant

The food was fantastic. The service was great. We’ll defenatly be going back. The only slight criticism is that the table was a little small for 4 people, so it was all a bit cramped when the food arrived.

The food was excellent but they do treat you like you are in a fast food restaurant so you don’t get the experience of a relaxed meal.

Cannot praise this restaurant high enough, fantastic food and attentive service. We had one of the set menus and it was Excellent value, can’t wait to go back!

We spent the new years eve at Maxim restaurant and had the new year set menu. Price was great for the amount of food we had. The food was absolutely delicious food, efficient service and the staff was lovely, attentive and caring. The crispy duck was amazing.

We had a very enjoyable meal. There were 4 of us and we were greeted warmly. Service is efficient. The menu is refreshingly simple with the usual favourites and some innovative dishes. The dishes we chose were well prepared and free from the usual gloopy sauces you can find in some Chinese cuisine. We will definitely return.

As always, we had a really good time at Maxim Chinese Restaurant: both the food and the service were up to the usual very high standard.

Have been going to this restaurant for over forty years. Last night was abysmal service and average food. Satay was dry and hard. I had to get up several times to find a waiter, felt as if our table of 10 had been abandoned. At the end of the evening I told our waiter how we felt. He said 'thank you'. Not quite the reaction I was expecting.

The restaurant was packed but we still received fantastic service and the food was delicious. If you haven't been before you should book as it is always busy!!!!

Best restaurant in Northfields, I go regularly and certainly will return. Comfortable, friendly and not over run with children which is a big problem in this area.

Good food,Warm atmosphere and friendly greeting by staff.Very good choice of dishes and wines.Would definitely consider this for a quick bite to eat in the future!

Had table booked for 6:30, was running a little late and when trying to change table to 7pm they were so unhelpful over the phone and insisted the table would need to be vacated by 8pm, even though there was 6 of us dining. Arrived to a very frosty atmosphere and not one of the waitresses/waiters could even crack a smile!! We dined within the hour as requested, and almost felt our food was being thrown out to us so that we would leave as soon as we could!! The food itself was lovely but the service overall really lets the place down!

Warm welcome. Prompt attention to drinks/order. Checked we were ok during our visit. Food was delicious as usual. Great atmosphere, together with ‘happy birthday ‘ singing.

the quality of the food has gone down a notch-since last April 17 needs an improvement in the chinese spices and variety in the set menu as well

The food was excellent, and the service was good. The place is well patronised and has a nice atmosphere, enhanced by authentic and tasteful Chinese decor.

Good food. Fast service. Not the cheapest but always tasty. Has a range of set menus. Does takeaway as well which we order via Deliveroo

Delicious food. Set menu was worth the money. Went to celebrate birthdays and the manager say to us and gave us free dessert even after we brought our own cake. Very excellent way to celebrate our birthday in style.

The food was very tasty & the service was excellent, would certainly recommend this restaurant . Would recommend the frogs legs, very similar taste to chicken wings.👍🏽

Excellent food. Mobility impaired people be aware there is no ground floor toilet - it's up some stairs that do not have handrails both sides either :-( The 'tip' is non optional and is included in the bill, which I do not like.

Food generally very good as always but management/staff did not seem to understand gluten free requirements and service slow due to very busy evening in the restaurant.

Took my wife for the first time here on Wednesday and service was quality as well as top class food overall a lovely meal out from a quality restaraunt we will be going back

really bad experience, have been there a plenty of times before but standards have dropped considerably, wouldn't go back there even though setting and ambiance is nice, quality of food and service has gone down in my opinion and you can find may better places than maxims for Chinese in London. Service was a bit slow and food was bland. Staff was friendly and the decor is abit outdated. For the price thought the food should of been alot better.

Delicious food with great and friendly service! No wonder it is our favourite local and has been getting rave reviews by top chefs like Alan Yau.

Lovely restaurant, great food & service. I have given the venue 5/6 only due to the fact that the waiters/waitresses are rather over keen on topping up your wine glass through the meal - Many times we had to ask them to leave the pouring to us otherwise we would have had the whole bottle done before the mains came out.

Fantastic food and service. We have been going to Maxim's for 30 years and it never disappoints. We think its the best chinese food in London - but may not be so good for vegetarians

We had a fine evening. the food was good. service was good just the noise level. it was difficult to hold a conversation. it was a busy Friday evening I suppose.

Excellent service, delicious food, and nice ambience. tables nicely spread out with plenty of room for lots of dishes. sharing platter and duck in pancakes are superb

Great evening and excellent food. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the meal was paced just right: no long waits between courses, but we never felt rushed either. Our highest praise was that my wife was last at the restaurant 35 years ago and said it was every bit as good as she remembered it.

The service was not great. I had a group of 4 and 2 of us had almost completed our meal before the other 2 received their meal. I asked two different waiters to help before they got their meal. The same applied to the second round of drinks that we requested which came at the end of our meal Considering the price of the meals, i would think that the owners should consider employing more waiters. I will not be visiting this restaurant again

Fantastic menu selection. Food excellent quality, value for money. Staff pleasant, accommodating and efficient. Party of 7 and all thoroughly enjoyed whole experience. Used to visit many years ago whilst living in London. Glad it hasn't changed and still in same family. Will be back on next London visit.

Very good Chinese, bustling and busy which is always a good sign. The food was not greasy at all. The only downside was we had to wait for our table even though we had booked. It was probably half an hour before we had drinks. So keep that in mind. Our table was 8.30 and we had our first course after 9pm. But I would go again!

Went for a nice meal on Saturday the good was great and there was a really good atmosphere. Will definitely be returning to Maxim again!

Great service, good food , generous portions. Was disappointed some of the items on the menu were not available on the day (lobster,mussels), but the dishes we did have were enjoyable.
