Great atmosphere and there was fantastic food I loved it
Me and my girls had the best time here. Superb place to visit and one of the best atmosphere. We ate on the afternoon then danced all night
Excellent meal as always great food, service and atmosphere would definitely return
Elegant, great good, great service, menu fresh and tasty. Clean environment and staff always professional and friendly. Good value and always a great experience for all
Service was fantastic, waiter was very friendly and attentive, he knew the menu well and was able to recommend dishes to us. Menu had a good variety of options to choose from, all the dishes were very well presented, however it only tasted half as good as it looked. The curry and parsnip soup and chicken lollipops were delicious but the lobster tacos, grilled avocado and tempura prawns were very average. The batter on the tempura prawn was too heavy and thick. We couldn't help but to compare the Neighbourhood with Victor's in Hale as it is a very similar style restaurant and they both have a very similar menu including the sushi and we are sorry to say that Victor's in Hale is definitely better in taste although the service was better at the Neighbourhood.
We were a party of 7 ladies who had decided to go to Neighbourhood as they had a June offer. We were told that the offer only applied to groups of 6 or less. Ok fair enough - we didn't scrutinise the small print. We arrived on time and were seated @ 10 mins later. All good. We ordered our starters - quite expensive and they were miniscule portions! We were starving. Unfortunately we had to wait another hour before our mains arrived. The burgers were tough, and one of the party had to ask where the "salad" was on her plate - it was the few shavings of fennel. The Manager did offer to re-do the burgers but it was so late. We were given a complimentary bottle of Prosecco but didn't really want anymore booze so quite rightly asked for the discount to be applied. Which they did. I would not have paid full price for the meal we had. It wasn't worth it. Whilst not a disaster as we had an enjoyable evening on the whole - sadly I won't be recommending Neighbourhood to friends or colleagues.
We had pre-booked a table, but wasn't ready when we got there so had quite a wait. I asked for my fillet steak medium/rare, but it came medium/well, however to be fair the staff were very apologetic and agreed that it was clearly not cooked as ordered. They took it away and brought me another one fairly quickly & it was cooked perfectly abd it tasted delicious! One thing that REALLY annoys me though is when restaurants automatically put a service charge on the bill. I don't like being forced to pay for service. The prices are not cheap anyway and the idea behind paying for service (or as it should be, giving a tip!) is that you give what you feel is appropriate for the service you received. Naughty Neighbourhood, stop being cheeky with your customers!
We arrived (on Sunday 18th Sept, at around 12 lunch) a lot earlier than our booked time and with only half the amount of people we had booked for (due to drop outs), however, the staff seated us quickly, were polite and accommodating (it helped that it was empty). The waiter was polite, the food was delicious and the surroundings were lovely, clean, bright, good music, we enjoyed it very much. The only down side was that the discretionary service charge that was added to the bill, it isn't very discretionary if it has already been added is it? In addition, there was an extra charge for a charity, we have no issue of contributing to charities, however, there was no explanation as to what this charity was or how the donation would help or even how much this particular branch had raised so far. We did pay both additional 'fees' as we felt unable to challenge it but thought it was a bit cheeky really and we would be reluctant in future to go there or if we did, we would be less likely to order quite as much due to these extras pushing the bill up!
- Food was great, tasted amazing and looked fantastic - Drink selection was poor especially for beers. £8.50 for a small glass of prosecco was a bit steep especially with 85p added on to every glass for the service - Service charge of 10% was a bit much when staff only covered the basics. No check back, bought the wrong drinks over, passed plates to the wrong people and very little interaction with the table - Missing items off the menu - Had a singer performing who didn't really fit the atmosphere, would have been better with just instrumental - I've heard a lot of great reviews about Neighbourhood but it's only good at best
We arrived and were greeted by a happy smiling face, our seat were cosy but comfortable for three. We were told about the style of dining option we had and our waiter was warm, fun and added to our evening. The food was fantastic as was the wine! The only disappointment was that we were asked if we would like to order any more drinks we did, we ordered 3 double vodkas with mixers and waited at our table, we could see the drinks had been poured, our waiter approached and said that because we had had our two hour serving time we would have to go to the bar to finish our drinks, I asked if we could at least have seats at the bar, he told us there weren't any seats available (the bar area was very busy) still we were told we couldn't stay at our table so we asked for the bill (£125) and cut my birthday celebrations short. If the restaurant would have been full I could have understood however there were lots of free tables at least 8 that I saw. After being offered the drinks it seemed in bad service not to serve them to our table and wasteful that they were poured and not used! A disappointing ending to an otherwise lovely experience
