Oliver's Restaurant & Fagin's Wine Bar

Piped music was a little annoying but not distracting. Service was perfect.

Although very busy - Christmas Eve - staff handled the demands very well and have to be commended for their friendly and efficient manner.

Staff are lovely here. It was very busy but the food and drinks came to the table very quickly. The food was delicious as always.

We were one of only 2 tables in the restaurant on the evening of our visit (10th December 2022). The weather was icy and cold outside and England were playing a World Cup football match so I don't know if that had any influence on how quiet the restaurant was. Unfortunately, the heating had also failed earlier on in the day so the restaurant was very cold which didn't make it a very comfortable dining experience as my party and I had to eat our meal whilst still wearing our coats. The staff who served us were all very apologetic and also cold themselves, however, their apologies didn't fix the problem!! We were given a free round of drinks by way of a goodwill gesture, however, this was only prompted by one of our party complaining about the cold restaurant environment. On a positive note, the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. We have visited Oliver's on various occasions and have had no complaints, however, had this been our first visit it is highly unlikely that we would be in a hurry to return.

The food was excellent and all of the staff were friendly and very attentive.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and found it spacious but a bit too open and bright for an evening meal, it lacked ambience. There were 3 large parties in celebrating birthdays, this did not affect the service but certainly affected the noise levels in the restaurant. This was later made worse by a live singer who was just too loud and overpowering, so much so that we could no longer talk to each other and we left as soon as we were able to. The menu was a bit limited and expensive for what it was and it was slightly different and more expensive than it was on the website. The presentation and quantity of food was good, but we felt it lacked vegetables with the main courses, 2 small bits of carrot and too big a mound of crushed potatoes came with the chicken, but was then swamped in the mushroom sauce which was very dominant in taste. Overall though the service was exceptional, orders taken and food and drinks delivered in very good time and and staff gave very good service, but we wouldn't return due to lack of ambience, the noise levels and the limited menu.

Food was amazing. Service was great, especially the young lady that looked after us, unfortunately we didn't catch her name. We visited for a friend's 50th birthday meal who hadn't eaten with yourselves before. We all thoroughly enjoyed it.

I visited with my sister and 2 daughters on Friday for lunch. The service and food was amazing. We really enjoyed it. The cocktails were really good as well!

The Food was sensational , very impressed with Quality of the Steak it was cooked perfectly , the Chicken Bites were lovely cooked perfectly as well , The Roast Dinners were lovely and all dishes were well sized , not too much and not too small well value for Money and Presentation was excellent !!! The Tiramisu was lovely too !!! The Staff were very welcoming and Friendly which made it a very enjoyable Meal to help us Celebrate our 29th Wedding Anniversary !!! We will definitely be dining there again and will be recommending the restaurant to our friends and family !! Also we were told about Live Music on a Saturday will definitely be trying that sometime soon !!! Thank You too all Staff !!!!

This is now our favourite Restaurant, the food is great as is the service. The staff are always friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We cannot wait to return.
