Passage To India - Edinburgh

Not worth it. The biryani was actually pulav. I reached the hotel early and was alone and the guy reacted like oh so it’s you I felt like he was being sarcastic. The food is not great. The place has a weird smell.

Limited menu but very tasty and good size portions. Attentive service

very comfortable, quiet surroundings with a different, varied and interesting menu. Food was delicious and service impeccable with encouragement to take your time if you wanted. Adequate wine list and broad range of other drinks definitely not limited to Indian varieties.

Gave this restaurant a try.Staff not very friendly, had to wait 40 mins for dinner, no complimentary starter,ordered the North Indian garlic chilli, all I could taste was the chilli no flavor of garlic had this dish several times not good, my wife got the the tikka masala very bland portion size poorly for the price, won't be back would recommend the shazan two doors down best curry I've tasted

Food tasty - vegetable pakora and naan bread especially good as accompaniments - and staff were attentive whilst giving us time to enjoy our meal :-)

We had starters and main courses. Both were delicious. Staff were friendly and ambience was really lovely. Just across the road from the playhouse theatre and close to tram stop and st James shopping centre

When we’ve been attending a show at the Edinburgh Playhouse, we’ve visited here for dinner beforehand. Food is always delicious and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Neighbouring restaurants are always full but not this one. Not sure if it’s because they don’t offer a dedicated pre-theatre menu but to be honest, prices are very reasonable that it doesn’t matter. I probably shouldn’t say this as it could mean if I try to book in future, it could be full 😉. But if you are looking for a dinner venue before a show then Passage to India is well worth a visit.

Vegetable pakora and Momo's were awesome. Lamb biriani was OK but too much rice to finish it all.

As usual, a very good pre theatre meal in this bright, welcoming restaurant. Pleasant staff and excellent menu choices. Portion sizes were just right.

Best tasting curries we've had on this and our previous visit. Good service, apologised for us having to wait for our starters and gave us free Poppadoms to compensate. Very reasonably priced for Edinburgh City centre. Highly recommend

First visit here. Myself and two friends came for a meal before a show at the Playhouse. The restaurant was spotless, the waiters were friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious! We were given a complimentary Baileys after our meal, too! Great wee place and we'll definitely visit again!

Friendly staff, very knowledgeable and food was great ,very satisfied would recommend.

As always, the staff are wonderful - attentive, and patient - we were quite a big group paying on separate bills, and they accommodated well. And, as always, the food was wonderful - delicious.
