Very enjoyable restaurant - food was great, wide variety of beers and ales on tap. Atmosphere was lively, but not so loud you couldn’t hear one another. Great location in the northern quarter, very close to other bars for after.

Great pies, good beer and friendly service: what more could you want? Not only had a GF pie for me (preferable to order 2 days in advance to be certain of availability) but even advised on choice of GF beers available too.

Lovely evening. Oven was broken (which cannot be helped), but still had a wonderful meal - offered to relocated us to the sister restaurant across the road, but we decided to stay. Brought the pies in from the kitchen across road and couldn't recommend any more. Fantastic food and great value for money

After numerous changes of plan, unfortunately we had to cancel at the very last moment. The staff were very friendly, sympathetic and tried everything they could to accommodate are situation. They fully understood. Great customer service; hopefully the food matched that quality.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The food was scrummy and we will be back. They even stored my daughters push bike safely.

Beer was excellent; service was great, attentive and jocular. Pies were good and varied but the crusts were very solid. Overall experience was really enjoyable,

Freshly made pies and a great choice of real ales. Really like this place and in a great part of the city centre must try the Sundsy special.

Always great for freshly-made pies with interesting fillings, delicious mash and peas and a wide selection of craft ales. Was a little bit quiet on a weekday lunchtime, but that's no bad thing as we were served quite quickly. Highly recommended.

We've been to Pie and Ale a few times now and always been impressed. The food is wonderful, there's plenty of option and it we all enjoyed what we had. Although this trip we did have a rather long wait for the food even though they weren't too busy which is why I've not given full marks. The main reason we chose Pie and Ale is because they always serve a vegan option so as well as the rest of the group enjoying themselves I loved that it was easy for me to find something to eat too. None of us were happy they charge extra to swap mash fir wedges though, as the pies are already charged a decent amount. The atmosphere is really friendly and laid back and the staff all seem happy and will do whatever they can to help you. Would highly recommend!
