The food was over priced for what it was but tasty. However reason for the low score was quality of service. It was terrible. We couldn’t order any further food because of lack of attention of staff so we ran out of time. We had 1.5 hours and only managed to order a main! Also trying to get the bill, I tried to ask 2 people and they just ignored me and walked past. Terrible!! Needless to say I won’t be going back.
Another quality visit to Phuskar. Party of 12 well catered for. Well worth a visit if you are on Broad Street. Highly recommended for a great service.
Fabulous food lovely surroundings and helpful staff a lovely experience a little different and not to pricey I would recommend it for an authentic Indian exp with clasd
So very disappointed We visit from out of town and this is our 4th year returning to what was our favourite Indian Despite being able to book a table right up to 11pm....our sitting was 10.15....we were rushed to make a food decision, told we couldn’t order starters and was served up our bill as our main course plates were collected. There were other diners present, but not as busy as previous years. The food was also disappointing. We ordered mild, but deliciously spiced dishes, however these were actually very chilli hot taking away from our enjoyment some more. We only have one glass of wine, 2 mains a rice and a veg side and was quite disappointed at the bill size of nearly £90! Happy to pay if we were treated better, not rushed and was able to enjoy what is usually a great restaurant that we go out of our way to eat in. We’ll not be returning and will be seeking an alternative Indian for our annual visit. Such a shame
Overpriced, very poor quality of mains, subze meloni had no taste. Koftas were raw and dry. Even the plates were worn out and nothing great about the ambience or decor. Wouldn’t recommend at all if looking for an authentic punjabi taste and flavours.
Excellent cocktails and delicious food. We just had to remind our waiter that one dish hadn’t arrived . Popadoms not visible on the menu and we weren’t offered any.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We visit Pushkar every year when we are in Birmingham and never have a problem getting a table whether for four or ten people.
Food is great.. restaurant a bit bright, food makes up for it.. Staff very attentive but not over powering, highly recommend for either private couples dining or a group dinner..
Terrible service. Ordered starters, they never arrived. Long wait to order drinks, food was poor. Had to go to bar to ask for bill. Asha’s is way better food and service.
Have been here before was fabulous, but service and ambience not the same , starters and main course served at the same time .. they also had no recollection of our booking , bar staff playing darts behind bar .. perhaps our expectations from last time made us feel very disappointed about our experience this time,
Very expensive flat champagne in cocktail tasted much better food. Food is not as good as it says what a shame wouldn’t go back Service good.
Delicious food. Was busy but had lovely service from staff.
Bright and stylish space. Attentive service. Excellent starters - tender, delicious lamb chops; tasty and interesting mustard & coconut prawns. Mains generous and satisfactory. Wonderful garlic naan. Rather plain and disappointing pilau rice (would choose steamed rice next time). Service charge added to the bill (two diners). Overall - very nice, though pricey.
The food was brilliant as ever and the service impeccable. Difficult to fault the Pushkar experience although the music being played through the speakers when we first arrived in the restaurant on New Years Eve would have been more appropriate in a trendy clothes shop for teenagers - it should have been more restful and a few notches lower on the volume control. Apart from that a wonderful meal.
Lovely restaurant, nice ambience & very good service especially being New Year’s Eve & very busy. Also had best cocktails of the night here. Only minor negative food more on the spicier side . We will return though in future.
Fantastic food and service. The paneer starter was the best I’ve had and for main we had lamb biryanis and chicken jalfrezi, all fantastic. I will definitely return.
Excellent service and very high quality food, Pushkar is amongst the best curry restaurants in Birmingham. There is a wide and interesting selection of dishes and the wine list is surprisingly good value.
Excellent friendly and professional service, very good food, nice dining room. Wine list for everyone. Reservations recommended especially at weekends or bank holidays. Broad Street not the best!
The restaurant decor is lovely, very nice layout, staff are very friendly. The service is very good. Food was ordered and brought out within 10 minutes and tasted lovely.
Meal was ok, service was average. Left without a good bye or thankyou. Would normally expect to be ushered to the door for what it cost.
Great service and great food. Been Pushkar on numerous occasions now and it is always a great experience. I will continue returning when in the area.
Always brilliant - great food, cocktails and service is always fantastic. It’s the only place we regularly travel from Northampton to go and eat. Great night.
Good experience. Medium to small portions. The food was excellent, especially the dessert.
A very good choice of menu. Beautifully cooked and presented. Lovely interior and very friendly and attentive staff. Huge choice of cocktails. Excellent evening and would highly recommend.
pleasant decor and delicious food served promptly so we were on time for our event. free street parking and easy walk to Arena. all good.
The best curry I've ever had - not coming from Birmingham. Highly recommended - great service and surprisingly reasonable price. Would definitely come back when we're in Birmingham again
Brilliant service, food and ambiance. I visit Birmingham twice a year and Pushkars is an absolute 'must'. Everything is thought of from the moment you step in to when you leave. Superb top notch vegetarian choices. Cocktails are amazing too.
Open, light and clean restaurant. Outstanding food. Attentive waiting service. Amazing cocktails! Would love to return if we come back to Birmingham in the future.
As ever, great service and food!! Staff really looked after us and the food was top class!!! Although it was a Saturday night before Christmas and it was busy they still have the knack of making you feel like you’re the only customer!!
Nice athmosphere, flexible with opening time, lovely food and quick service Only negative is the count of the drinks twice, but when pointed out, they quickly corrected the bill
Excellent food really friendly staff Great night Would recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy an Indian meal with a difference with a fantastic atmosphere
Good service and excellent food. Restaurant had a good ambience and was very convenient when going to a show at the Arena. Would visit again.
Great Indian food, properly spiced with great service. Very busy which adds to a great atmosphere but never hurried and with a good selection of well priced wines
A-ma-zing! A great atmosphere, attentive but not obsequeous service, and fabulous food. This has to be the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at. Fabulous cocktails too You definitely need to book though.
Had a great evening. Food was perfect, service was outstanding. Would definitely recommend it. Will be returning in the near future to try more dishes!
Arrived 30 minutes early on a Thursday evening at 7.30. Shown to table straight away. Had a three course meal with daughter. Food was excellent. Staff very pleasant and attentive without being over the top. Very nice surroundings. Not full by any means though. Meal was finished by 8.45. Possibly a bit pricey but had seen menu before going. Did not disappoint. Would definitely recommend. As this was a meal for two, did not go for the atmosphere. I would suggest that the majority were there for the same reason. The restaurant was nice and quiet, just what I wanted.
Service as good as ever . Continued high standard of food served and ambience very attentive staff . spotless restaurant always good for a special occasion.
Excellent food. The best I have tasted. Beautiful environment. Attention to detail is impressive. Attentive and professional service. Really nice atmosphere in a great location Will be back .
An evening of great food and great service! Looking forward to returning again in the near future. This is a place I would highly recommend.
A very nice place with delicious food and Indian spirit. Would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Would love to come again. Hope to come back soon
Great food and atmosphere. Good service and great ambience. Great for Christmas do's!
The service was terrible, the food was nice but overly salted. We were thirsty all night. The fact that they charged 12.5% service charge was totally unacceptable for that level of service
Great food and friendly service. Lamb dishes rich and tasty while the chicken does not disappoint The Dahl was simply amazing Everything was top quality and well worth the money
Food and service Excellent, friendly and prompt service with great food. Waiters very knowledgeable and polite. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Birmingham.
We returned for our annual wedding anniversary meal and on the occasion the food was bland and ok, where as in the past it's been food worth returning for.
First class. Authenticity at its best!!! Will be at the top of the list to revisit the next time we’re in town.
Super food, good atmosphere and friendly service. Busy on a sat eve but we were given a lovely table. Wish I could eat the biryani all over again, yum!
Good quality food and the waiters were attentive. Will come again.
We are regulars at Pushkar. Our experience on this occasion was disappointing - the service was slow, the food over spiced and generally their attention to detail was poor.
On the booking was told it was a birthday no special items from the restaurant. And this time the waiter where not as interested to being at the restaurant
