We travel 120 miles to visit my elderly parents in Birmingham which is always a pleasure. The experience is complemented by our anticipation of trip to Pushkar where the cuisine and the service are nothing short of fantastic.

The waiter we had was brilliant he really looked after us and ensured that my dietary requirements. When I found my curry too spicy he quickly got the chef to correct it. The slight let down for us was the trio of dessert we ordered to share. The gulab jamun and rasmalai lacked the sweetness the traditional sweet dishes required. The remainder of the food could not be faulted it was good with a difference to standard India restaurants.

Excellent service and food. I hadn’t visited the restaurant for 2 years prior to this recent visit but nothing had changed. The staff still recognised me and the overall experience was as warm and welcoming as my first visit. The best Indian Restaurant in the UK, hands down!

Food very good. Service was great at some points rushed at some points. Decor is beginning to look worn and dated. Very expensive for Birmingham

We booked the Pushkar on the strength of reviews we had read and we were not disappointed. The lovely contemporary interior was cool and spacious, the staff were without exception wonderful and super efficient and the Indian cuisine was the best I had eaten. A first class restaurant with first class service and first class food. A great experience. Highly recommend.

Really good food, especially the Pushkar Panorama starter. On the expensive side but not outrageous, although drinks were more expensive than I expected (G&Ts and beer - didn't have wine). Service was good.

Food and service were excellent but unfortunately there was a table of very drunk men next to us who kept shouting, dancing and taking their shoes off and throwing them around. They were not asked to lower their voices or leave which spoiled the evening for us. The waiter did apologize but I felt that something should have been done or at least we should have been given a free drink!

Very disappointed I booked in January for 5th of July as it was a surprise for my husbands 30th rang them twice to make sure it was all booked and could they put little something on the table as its a special birthday they said of course. On arrival didn’t have nice place to sit, nothing on table and food not up to scratch. When leaving I mentioned all this and he just laughed at me and my husband didn’t Even say sorry. Won’t be going back here again.

Another great meal at this lovely restaurant who were very accommodating with our request to delay our booking to enable our friend to join us because he was watching the England v Columbia match. A great meal and we won the game as well - a top evening.

Lovely restaurant. Mix of non-standard curry dishes with a few familiar so was a bit of an adventure - especially the starters so would recommend a mixed platter. Best brandy coffee I've had in a long time! Was there on a busy Monday night so would recommend booking.

Our favourite Indian restaurant bar none. Enjoy a cocktail first and then the consistently delicious food with perfect service. No sign of any oil in these dishes. The cooking is spot on and the choice is excellent. They remember their regular customers and greet you like friends. Always a fabulous evening

Disappointed with the Banquet Menu - expensive at £39.99. Busy restaurant, service quite good but struggled to get rose wine down to a cold enough temperature.

I t was my birthday and I thought I would treat my children and grandchildren to a special meal. I searched the internet to and based on the reviews, I chose the Pushkar. The restaurant did not disappoint and lived up to expectations. The venue was exactly as advertised providing equally good food, service and value. From my own experience I would recommend it to anyone else who wished to celebrate a special occasion or simply a good meal in excellent surroundings.

Food was delicious and staff were lovely but it was incredibly overpriced. I ended up paying £25 for a prawn tikka masala with rice, while I’d requested ‘off menu’ I wouldn’t have done so had I known it would be so expensive.

Excellent experience and food. Only disappointing part was some of the appearance was tatty (menu boxes and seating) and despite being 1 of only two tables in the restaurant (both of which were only tables of two), the waiter did not remember who's food was who's.

We dined after a Symphony Hall concert and had a wonderful time. It's hard to say which was better, the food or the service! Shared scallops and prune/spinach cake starters and had N Indian fish stew and a creamy lamb dish for mains. All absolutely delicious and we can't wait to have them again. Service was impeccable and the staff friendly and attentive but not obtrusive. They picked up it was my friend's birthday and brought him a little cake with a candle, suitably low key and charming, not cringeworthy at all! We loved our visit to Pushkar and will definitely go back there next time we're in Birmingham. Thanks to all at Pushkar!
