Red Onion

Loved the buzz. It's a great place to eat. Unfortunately there was some gristle in my steak. My husband's steak was perfect.

Fantastic first visit to the Red Onion. Food was just delicious. We all had the Bang Bang Chicken to start, flavours were amazing. The last time I had this was in Le Caprice in London and this one was way better. For mains, my friends declared the fishcake delicious, I had the pork. Again the combination of flavours worked so well and every mouthful was a delight. Such great value too, and the service was perfect. On point without being intrusive. All in all a great experience, we will be back.

Lovely food, lovely staff, pretty decor and cool gallery of the suppliers in the basement by the toilets. Very nice evening out.

I loved the ambience of this place, and the servers were lovely. They have a really decent vegan menu and the food is delicious.

One member of staff abrupt and lacking manners. I might add rest of staff were friendly and polite. Food was good but not amazing.

First time I've been, my wife had been years ago. Friendly staff, great service, with an ItIsOn voucher it was great value and the drinks were also well priced. The food was excellent. Good range of choice even from a pre theatre style menu. Every dish well presented and tasty. Good protion sizes. Coffee was nice as well.

Amazing experience! We enjoyed steak frites and our daughter with a dairy intolerance enjoy mac n sheese, which she demolished. Very well flavoured. The choice of dairy free desserts was also excellent, as was the dairy free choice in general! We will definitely be back! Great Service as well and liked the fact John takes times to come up and talk to diners, and all staff were very accommodating to our 1 year old and took the time to interact with her

Red onion is one of the best restaurants in Glasgow, classic fabulous food and beautiful restaurant. Quality food and perfectly cooked x The service is always great snd staff are attentive, polite and professional

Arrived early, greeted by lovely waitress who told us that it was no problem and showed us our table. Lovely guy came and took our coats and organised drinks while we waited for our two other guests. Food was lovely, as usual, and staff really attentive. John himself is usually around and always asks if everything is ok. Really enjoy visiting here.

Firstly I asked for specific seating and I got it. My waitress was on the ball & attentive. The food divine. I had the duck breast which melted in the mouth...a delicious jus & the veg was cooked perfectly...full of flavour. Great care had been taken to get everything on my plate perfect. Price wise very reasonable especially in comparison to the quality of the food. I can't wait to go back...my #1 go to restaurant in Glasgow

Food was delicious. Staff friendly and efficient. Wine a bit pricey. Toilets could do with an upgrade. Overall a very good restaurant and I will definitely be back.

Pre theatre menu provided plenty of choice. The French onion soup was delicious and the Spanish pork was equally good. Service was very good and staff friendly. Look forward to dining at Red Onion again.

Fantastic, my 2nd visit to Red Onion and this was even better.. I had the bang bang chicken and then steak from the pre theatre. Delicious. John Quiggly even came out to same hello. Definitely be back.

Restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere. Downside roast beef was very difficult to cut, I left most of the meat. I told server and she said she would tell chef. Was very disappointed.

Best roast dinner I’ve had for a long time also chatted to owner and chef which allowed me to thank him it really wasn’t a lovely piece of Scots sirloin and all the perfect trimmings

We had steak frites option for £5 with Itison, which was a great value for money. The food was great and the service was very good. The place itself however requires some refurbishment, especially the toilets.

i have previously been here and everything was amazing , i felt the music was good but a bit noisy, food was good loved the bang bang chicken starter , main was the stake and it was well cooked and tasty it wasn't the best cut of meat, had a beer and a cocktail, waiting staff were pleasant but could have been more attentive mabe new to waiting tables . will go back as good value for money
