The place was spotless, food was excellent (delicious and well presented), the service was very good and staff was friendly. We will definitely go back.

Lovely quaint little restaurant, friendly service and good food - calamari and french onion soup starters were good, duck main was excellent, monkfish main very good just way too small - not the cheapest but good value for money.

Steak on set menu, very thin and fatty. Poor choice for kids and vegan dishes lacked seasoning. However, apetisers were nice and good portion size.

Great food in a nice atmosphere . Staff were very friendly and chef came round and talked to customers , a nice touch. We'd never been there before but would definitely go back.

Amazing restaurant. I have been here a few times now and it never disappoints. Food is lovely. Especially the frozen raspberries with white chocolate sauce. Staff are also lovely and welcoming.

Red onion has very nice food and excellent menu. It’s very different from anywhere else and not overly expensive for the great food you receive.

Beautiful food and lovely atmosphere. This was my 2nd visit in less than 2 weeks. I think that explains it all. Oh and I'm gping back there again in a couple of weeks with my workmates for a girlie lunch. Can't wait.

Very good value, although saddened that the set menu doesn't seem to change. However, next time I'll choose from the vegan menu, which looks very good.

My friend and I went for the pre theatre menu, we were seated straight away. Lots of choice for a pre theatre. Great gluten free food and fabulous staff, what’s not to like?!

Dealing with a food intolerance (no onion) meant removing elements from a dish but no replacement. So a sauce was taken out but the chef couldn't whip up an onion free alternative. Main courses were very salty. Description of dishes om.memu didn't quite reflect what appeared Nice place though. Good atmosphere and good service.

Excellent gluten free menu, food was delicious and the service excellent as usual. Well run restaurant with original fresh food options and a good wine list.

Food was lovely and the staff were polite and welcoming. Our only slightly negative comment is that we could have done with a slight gap between starters and main course.

Always Good value and consistently great food and choice combined with friendly and helpful staff make it my number one choice when i am in Glasgow

A little disappointed in the food, service wasn't great and we are asked to give table back although the restaurant was half empty. The toilets also need refurbished. Not what we were expecting sadly.

I hadn't been to this restaurant for many years- I was there twice not long after it opened. We elected to go here as it was within easy walking distance of the King's Theatre. The menu choice was excellent- a great range of dishes with seasonal ingredients. I had linguine with ragu meatballs and parmesan shavings. That description makes it sound a bit boring but it was anything but- it was delicious. The salted caramel sauce that came with vanilla ice cream was home made and incredibly good! I would highly recommend going here- the prices are very reasonable.

Nice casual atmosphere, service was very good, and food was excellent. Had the duck breast - wonderfully seasoned with delicious sauce. Had soup of the day as starter and was also very nice.

Had a wonderful evening, food was very good and as my wife is coeliac, it’s important to us that there is at least some choices from the menu! Red Onion has an entire gluten free menu!! Wonderful!! Staff were friendly, helpful, not rushing you. Great eating out experience. We’ll be back!

Took the Pre-theatre set meals. tasty starter. Mains can be better in terms of the taste. Ambience was great and so are the interior decoration

After a matinee show with friends at the kings theatre, we had a delicious three course meal at the red onion, was great value for money and the staff where charming and attentive, will definitely be back.

Fabulous place, food always delicious. Quick no fuss service, great wines and even better cocktails. Recommend trying the ‘gin fizz’ which is equal to anything you get served in a high end cocktail bar. Also you must try the frozen raspberries and hot white chocolate sauce

The service was a wee bit slow, even when eye contact was made. Also I felt my main wasn’t great, I wasn’t convinced the chicken was cooked all the way it looked slightly pink and no one approached to ask how things were. I was grateful my starter was nice

The food was super. Really lovely menus and great vegan choices. The atmosphere is really great there. It was quite busy but we weren’t in any rush so didn’t mind. Reasonabley priced for the high quality of food. Would definitely go back.

In for lunch it was quite quiet although that suited us. As usual food was to a good standard and the staff were very attentive

Small and quaint restaurant where we arrived a half hour early, they made us welcome and showed us straight to a table. The menu came and we had a bottle of their own brewed red ale which was very good. We ordered and the food came quickly and was of exceptional quality, 3courses and didn’t leave a scrap. Excellent

The food was delicious, great selection for vegetarian/vegans. Service was great, everyone is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is lovely and the atmosphere is great.

Overall it was good but could have been much better. Food was too salty, servers seemed distracted, no one came back to check everything was ok with our meal.
