Food was very enjoyable although we felt the smoked haddock fish cake was a bit too crispy on the outside and the well done steak we asked for wasn't. Disappointed we had to wait 25 minutes between starter and main. Overall this was disappointing compared to previous visits.

Delicious food. Almost definitely the best roast beef dinner I’ve ever had. The bang bang chicken is lovely too. We went for lunch as a family and had a great time.

Had a really lovely graduation dinner with my family. Great value for money with the set menu and everyone really enjoyed their meals! Separate vegan menu was designed similarly to the original and stopped me from feeling left out. Thanks!

First time at the red onion. Food was excellent and delicious. Waitress service very cheery and helpful. Only downside was where we were seated! Upstairs cand gad to squeeze into the seats. It hasn't put me off coming back and I would certainly recommend it to friends. Regards CAthy

Place is nice, food was good and staff friendly. I think the kids offering is poor. Even half portions of adult food would be better than cheesy pasta or tomato pasta. U make that at he when there is nothing else, I don't expect that in a restaurant. If this improves I would go back with the family. Great place for adults though.

We really loved our dining experience at Red Onion. The staff were excellent, very attentive but not overly. The food was equally as good, loved the starters, haggis based, and the shin of beef melted in the mouth. And the sweets, to die for ! Made our weekend in Glasgow even more enjoyable, thanks 👍🏻

Lovely pre theatre meal including a free glass of prosecco when you show your theatre ticket. There was a reasonable choice of dishes and service was good.

It is comfortable and so unpretentious. The food was good as always. Just a little disappointed in choices in set lunch menu today, having eaten there a few times previously.

Nice hearty but healthy food but nothing outstanding. The light shades could have been doing with a dust. Food choice for gluten free options with a varied selection.

Food decent as always but a little disappointed with the service. We were sat upstairs and a little forgotten about-no one came up to offer dessert, coffee or even the bill. No apology either. Just unfortunate this time as usually very good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Red Onion ,we were well looked after and everyone without a doubt had a lovely meal both visually and tastefully and staff were all very professional , also knowing our booking requirements - to have a gluten free menu . It was so nice of John to get the time to come and talk to us and we most certainly will be back again . Thank You all at Red Onion .

Food was exceptional. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Didn't feel rushed like you do at some other place. Ordered pudding but asked for it not to come for 20 minutes and this was no problem at all and came bang on the 20 minute mark. Will definitely back be back.

Great food with a good value pre-theatre menu. Good service with a lovely ambience and my favourite bit was ice cream with salted caramel sauce. Yum.

The pre-theatre menu is very good and provided the food we were looking for at a reasonable price. The ambience is excellent for couples and discerning diners. The staff were particularly pleasant and efficient. The music should be turned off when it is busy as it just is a blue-bottle trapped in a jar but I guess is nice when you can hear it. My male partner could have eaten a little more veg or sauteed potatoes with the fishcake main.

John Qiugley is a culinary genius. The haggis bon bons were possibly the best vegetarian dish I've ever had! The mushroom risotto with rocket and parmesan was perfection....along with a side of wok seared greens. Such a nice meal! The restaurant is beautiful... a cozy fireplace, fantastic artwork... Casual but intelligent and comfortable. I highly recommend Red Onion, and Mr. Quigley's fantastic menu!

We chose Red Onion due to its reputation as good for gluten intolerance. We were not let down. The gluten free menu was fantastic! Both our meals were lovely and I was able to relax knowing that everything on my plate was 100% gluten free.

We had a lovely evening meal with friends in a nice relaxed atmosphere with efficient friendly waiters. I can recommend the sea asks and in is and gunn slow cooked blade of beef which was tender and tasty. The desserts cheesecake and the warm chocolate brownie were divine. I would highly recommend the Red Onion For quality and service.

We had the pre theatre menu which had a varied choice of starters and mains, my wife had the bang bang chicken salad and I had the chicken liver parfait, both were outstanding, especially my red onion marmalade. For mains we had steak frites and lemon and paprika chicken with patatas bravas, took me back to Spain. Unfortunately we had no room for desserts, bargain at £14.50 for 2 courses, will be back.

Ordered the burger... it was so overcooked that I could not eat it. I could not even cut it with a knife. The waitress indicated that the restaurant cooks all the burgers the same way... you cannot choose well done, medium or rare. It seemed that burger was pre-cooked and heated.

I altered the booking twice at very short notice and Red Onion accommodated us brilliantly. The food was amazing and all six of us left completely clean plates! Absolutely love that they have a vegan menu, and a few of my family ordered from it just because it looked so good. The pumpkin ravioli in particular was so nice. We had a great evening!

Amazing atmosphere, food was Devine. Wine was perfect. Couldn't fault it. The best vegan menu in Glasgow, and such a wonderful selection o the menu. So nice to have a real choice and not just have to get the one vegan option on a menu.
