Well presented authentic food which was excellent. Love the music, atmosphere for this small Greek tavern. Good service and good beer and overall a most enjoyable had by all. Thank You , I look forward to coming again (will be on top of my list) on my next visit to the UK.

The food was excellent... we had the meze for 3 & the courses just kept coming. Everything was so tasty no ping meals :-) Great atmosphere . Friendly staff .

We had an excellent evening. Food was wonderful and for a Monday night the place proved popular. Chef and Staff took everything in their stride and everyone was catered for. We will be back.

Food was amazing and could not fault it, however, the service was very poor. We had to ask to order our food, ask for drinks to be ordered, having booked 2 days prior i wouldn't have expected this. That said we would return.

The food is just amazing, very friendly staff.it is a lovely little resteraunt. The decor is a little cheesy Greek but it just some how adds to it all.

went on a tues evening , nice cosy authentic looking Greek taverner , food was very good , we had an a carte menu , but did look at meze , which looked really good value . the food we had was very tasty and fresh, olives , bread and dips were excellent , the lamb kofta was exceptionally good 👍, all washed done with some mythos . to sum up good value good food great service in nice surroundings , what more could I ask for , give it a go , am sure like me you won't be disappointed !

Food excellent and staff friendly. The only downside is the decor and the fact that we were put next to the gents toilets. Needs an overhaul, very dated.

We didn't eat there in the end. We arrived early and they weren't open. The staff were out at the back. We made ourselves known to them and they said they would open up shortly. We waited a bit longer and the door was still locked so we decided to go elsewhere.

the food and service was excellent, but quite surprised that this is the first restaurant that I've been to in a long time that charges for a glass of soda water with a meal. £2.50 a glass. Its free in every other restaurant that I've been to. I can understand being charged if I didn't order anything else.

Fantastic food and amazing customer service. The waitress went above and beyond in helping my 4 year old nephew stay settled throughout the meal. It’s hard to keep a young child entertained at a restaurant, but she was incredible. So attentive and made him feel really special. The whole family enjoyed their first experience at Sokrates and we’ll definitely be coming back.

Great food with excellent service. Loved it. A little Greek gem in Horwich. Meze was served at a steady pace with all food steaming hot. Staff advised on which dish went with each dip which was a nice touch.

This is a traditional - no frills Greek family run Taverna. They keep it simple and do it well. You know what to expect and over the years we have always good meals.

An excellent meal, Greek meze served over a space of about 50 minutes, the dishes just kept on coming. Lively restaurant almost completely full by 8.00pm Service was very good.

Great food, the lemon and thyme potatoes were amazing, I could have happily eaten them for starter main and dessert.Great service, attentive but not so overly so, just the right balance. Cant wait to go back.

Really good food, vegetarian mezes, tasty and all served by friendly staff who explained what was in each dish all done in a relaxed taverna the setting.

First time we had visited Sokrates in Horwich. Had the mezze, which was great & generous portions. Friendly staff too. We all agreed that we would go back. If I had one very minor criticism (and I mean 'tiny'), it would be that the house white is not very good (and it's the only wine you can order by the glass). All in all, lovely evening. Would definitely recommend.

All good - welcome, choice, location, ambience, service, prices. Oh yes, and the food! Maybe one addition could be 2 Greek coffees for the price of one or similar?

A cozy little place with great food and lovely service, makes you feel right at home. Menu full of uncommon delights, and the taverna is open until late.

Warm welcome, delicious food! It’s only a 5 and not a 6 as the after food service was extremely slow the dirty plates were left on the table for over half an hour otherwise it was great.

Went on a Friday night at 8pm, wasn't too busy and we were immediately greeted at the door and shown to our table. We both got the mezze menu and it was delicious and very filling, service was great too and the price is very reasonable. We will be back again soon!
