Not been here for a few years, but had friends over from Wales. We had a great night, it was really buzzing the restaurant when we arrived. Fab service and lovely accommodating staff the food was great and the chef came out to have a drink and a chat. We will definitely go again.

Was put in the back small room quite cold no atmosphere starters good main meal Mousaki was like slop but my partners meal lamb kebab was fab along with mum's stefago very expensive 91 pound including drinks staff where attentive though once tried won't be back sorry

opted for the meze and overall thought it was good quality food (and there was plenty of it!) its an okd fashioned taverna style interior that's rather dated but would go again for the food

Great Greek food to take your mind off the January blues and the weather. Went as a family group and all enjoyed our meals - some new options too. Friendly and good service, they're always busy but not too busy to be pleasant and attentive. Thoroughly recommend Sokrates in Horwich.

Love this restautant. One of my faves. I recommend the mezze. Delicious food and fantastic friendly service. They always take time to talk to you and tell you history and recommendations for food.

The food is amazing, would 100% reccommend. Good value for money, had the meze and was stuffed, but shared a cheesecake because it's just so delicious.

Wonderfully tasty food and excellent service. A warm welcome on a freezingly cold night. The mezze for our party was a presentation of many different courses of which I particularly enjoyed the grilled vegetables which, although it may sound very ordinary, was in fact infused with all the best tastes of a barbecue, and the aubergine dish. This is not to say that the other dishes were anything but lovely. Highly recommended.

One of my favourite restaurants. Always the most brilliant Greek food. The aubergines imam is truly exception as are tjr homemade chips and the cheesecake. Fabulous!

Not the most glamorous of properties but friendly staff and excellent food - better than we have eaten in Greece itself! Delicious and well worth a visit.

A lovely family friendly evening with a team who did all they could to assisted you, the menu has changed since previous visits which was some time ago but the food was very good if lacking a little in overall choice

Always reliably good food and attentive service. We always order the mezze, so we can try a little bit of everything, followed by the cheescake with figs. We'd find it really difficult to choose just one main course otherwise!

The food was fabulous as always and we had great service. It was a bitterly cold night and the restaurant was cool but we were offered a table by the radiator. The midweek meze deal is brilliant value.

Lovely atmosphere the starter was excellent wish I would have chosen it for my main meal although nothing wrong with the main meal. The staff were friendly will definitely be going back.

The service was fantastic! We had a mezze platter that was massive and really gave you an appreciation for Greek food! Certainly will be going back.

They have travelled exstensively in Greece and rate this restaurant food as good as if not better than the food they have had in Greece and islands.

Fantastic fresh food, mezze a great price with voucher and plenty of food. They even ask if you want more of anything! Excellent friendly service. Definitely recommend.

Perfect evening! Brilliant atmosphere, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. There was no push for you to eat and go, which is a good job, because the food was amazing and needed to be savoured! Fantastic value for money! I never write reviews, but had too for Sokrates Taverna! I'll be back again!

Great atmosphere, wonderful food, varied menu, excellent service from the two ladies on duty who knew there menus and wines and offered very good advice. An absolute pleasure to dine there and if we are in the area again we'll definitely be back. Thank you and well done.

We didn't know where to eat - strangers in the area. We just chose this restaurant at random because we like Greek food! We got lucky. .....Though we ate early there was a great atmosphere, the food was great and the staff were really friendly.

Good food which is freshly prepared. The dips are great especially taramasalata, which normally I find too fishy this isn't . Gigantes are also very tasty .Good service. Nice ambiance

Excellent food and ambience. Had the meze banquet and thoroughly enjoyed it! Well looked after and would definitely go back. Only downside was fancied a dessert but the waiter took too long to bring the dessert menu so had to leave without indulging!

Very nice food - I would really recommend the meze. Just the 15 courses and you can have extra helpings if you like. Restaurant is looking a little dated though.

Nice food. The aubergine dish, calamari and feta and spinach were all lovely. Foid came quickly. Wine selection was limited and I was not keen on the white I ordered.

It was a great meal. However, service was a bit slow towards the end of the meal as the restaurant was closing. Nevertheless the food was great!

Good food & atmosphere. The Gigantes & taramasalata are excellent as is it all. I always enjoy the koftas & the wine.Music was not too loud but audible. Great evening.

Very warm welcome. We had the midweek ( with internet voucher ) meze for £12.50. The food was delicious and kept on coming . We will definitely come again.

Meal & service excellent as always. The staff are always pleasant & helpful & the food is superb. The only negative comment I would make is that we were charged for a beer that we didn't have, but I'm sure that this will be rectified on our next visit.
