We visited for the first time on Sunday 22nd June and were greeted with friendly faces and shown promptly to our table. The team were professional, and made us feel very at home. The decor gives a calm and relaxed atmosphere which we enjoyed. Hubby had the Monkfish tail and said it was really good. I had sirloin steak and it was cooked exactly as requested and tasted delicious. Overall a good experience and would recommend people give it a try.

The staff were very friendly and the service was efficient. Our choice of meals ranged from fish to crab and lobster. All were well prepared, presented and tasted very good. Well done.

A bright airy space. We were welcomed as soon as we entered and seated pretty much right away. The restaurant was busy but well staffed. Our drinks delivered and food order taken we did not have long to wait. As we were trying the Crab and Lobster for the first time we decided to go for a sharing platter to start, fresh oysters, crab, prawns and smoked salmon served with fresh soft white bread and delicious salty olives. Our main - haddock and chips, home made tartare sauce and mushy peas. All the food was delicious, fresh and well presented. Staff were attentive without hovering. I would recommend, there is options for those who don't love fish and lovely options for the little ones.

For once a seafood restaurant that actually makes a decent job of cooking various fish, shellfish crabs and lobsters and they all tasted great. Even having chips with things ( didn't seem to be a lot of other veg) didn't detract from the taste. Reasonable prices as well. Will definitely be back

Food was ok, not special as suggested by the recent reviews. Lobster thermidor was cold, tiny ( I’ve had langoustines bigger than that poor wee lobster), fish and chips ok. Chips needed more cooking time. Staff were a mixed bunch. The head waiter was superficially pleasant but the way he handled a complaint from another table was dismissive, disrespectful, uncaring and the aside comment made when turning away from the customer was unprofessional and spoiled our experience. We were seated next to the kitchen and the noisy and at times arrogant head chef was distracting and made us all slightly anxious. Other staff were lovely and the curry sauce was good.

Good esp starters favour some and different but service average weren’t told about specials Also it would have been nice to get a little salad with fish n chips. Or that the dressed crab came put back into crab shell with salad along side. Waitresses seemed to cover a large area and not specific tables which perhaps led to confusion at times. Nice to try wouldn’t rush back

The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Looks casual yet classy . Staff are very attentive. The wine list includes some very fine wines . Spoilt for choice by the menu . Cullen Skink was amazing ! So creamy . I followed this with a half lobster in garlic butter . The lobster was a good size , soft and delicious…. Best I’ve had for ages! As for my partners fish and chips ? Wonderfully tasty batter covering the freshest of fish . Excellent 👍

Very pleasant friendly staff, Good menu with oysters, Crab, Lobster, Haddock etc dishes plus Steak, check the menu on-line if you’re not fish friendly. Started with Crab Nachos; nice change from Chilli Meat, lighter and more refreshing but still with the Jalapeno kick. I had a delicious 1/2 lobster: very tasty despite its higher price point, it’s hard to find Lobster on the menu in an accessible location and this is great spot, just over the bridge. This is a welcome addition to Scotlands Dining Experiences, serving quality seafood in pleasant surroundings.

First time at the Crab and Lobster Fish Shack and it's goood. You could eat there cheaper than we did, but we were celebrating a birthday, so scallops, mussels, lobster, steak washed down with the drink of the day (sangria). Service was fast and friendly, food was delicious.

Our first visit and was not disappointed, great quality food at a good price our only criticism was the batter on the jumbo fish was soggy in side. For a new venture the service was very good and will visit again. Best of look to the future

Had to wait 35 mins for starter (that took 2 mins to prepare). Starters expensive and small. Main course fish excellent. Half lobster a bit feeble - and does even a half lobster have a claw- seemed to be missing!

Starters were lovely got a burrata and the squid (only complaint was the tiny bit of bread to go with the burrata, maybe a larger slice or 2). Cullen skink was quite a small portion, was tasty but mainly potato not much fish in our bowl! Battered haddock was lovely. Good, quick service. Juice was very pricey, bottle of diet coke £4.25 was a bit steep!

We had been looking forward to going here for the Lobster Thermidor for a special occasion. Unfortunately we were left disappointed as soon as we were met by front of house at 6.00pm when we were told they had no Lobster or Mussels left, so this put a damper on our evening right away as I also wanted mussels as my starter. To start we opted for the crab nachos (£10.00) to share which was good. Then I ordered the Jumbo fish Supper (£18.00) and my wife ordered the standard one (£15.00) which came promptly, but to be honest we struggled to tell the difference between them when they arrived. I had a small portion of mushy peas (£3.00) which weren't very good. The fish was cooked in batter but there was more batter than fish. The chips were just ok. You also have to wait a while for salt , vinegar and sauce as they are not on the table and the waiter has to go away and fetch them. Overall I expected better for the price they are charging. There is a 10% service charge added to your bill which you need to ask to be removed if required which is something I'm not in favour of. Overall it was disappointing as we felt it was overpriced and not as good as some of our local fish and chip restaurants. We had driven 40 minutes for a Lobster at the Crab and Lobster Shack which had no Lobster.

I had some oysters and the lobster and my wife had fish and chips, all of which was great. We also had the warm sourdough bread with seaweed butter and it was disappointing. The bread was like a sliced loaf and the butter was pretty tasteless. Service and ambience was great as were the drinks.
