The Crab & Lobster Fish Shack

Mid-week treat/date night. Crab nachos amazing and mussels for hubby - delicious - wasn't too busy, service was good and quick - very enjoyable. (Car Park hadn't been gritted and was black ice all over - but can't control the weather especially in Scotland)

Half the menu missing no crab or lobster available and they also add 10% service charge on bill without asking not going back

I really wanted to enjoy our visit, as the staff were genuinely excellent – friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout, which made the experience pleasant on a service level. Unfortunately, the food itself was a big let-down. The lobster and prawns were overcooked, and the crab and mussels were largely tasteless, which was very disappointing given the expectations and price point. Overall, the service deserves praise, but the seafood quality and execution didn’t match it, and sadly it wasn’t the dining experience we had hoped for.

Who doesn't love excellent fish and chips? and they don't come better than those provided at the Carb and Lobster in South Queensferry. The staff are friendly and attentive the food is excellent and value for money. Fast becoming one of the best places to eat in SQ.

The scampi, haddock and battered sausage were great however the excellent chips stole the show. Would definitely recommend.

Good great food and friendly staff. That said , the member of staff that took us to our table notice Id said in my booking that it was my friend’s 95th but not even a little small dessert was given. I had to go up to ask for coffee as no one was around too

Food was good, service could have been better. Air conditioning was cold.

Only 2 niggles. 1) drinks menu states Coca Cola is 335mls. Price £4.25. But bottle only 330mls and bill charged £4.25. 2) special was cod which my husband selected but price of special not informed before ordering. The price might put some people off. However food was great… especially sticky toffee pudding. The niggles are very small,and won’t put us off returning. Only checked price of Coca Cola because it’s not available on draft.

Food was very delicious. The restaurant is clean. Waiters was very kind.

Warm welcome for us and friends and shown to a nice booth. Their first visit and very impressed with the attractive restaurant. The waitress and waiter were most professional and helpful and the food fabulous prepared by superb chefs using high quality ingredients as usual - (our fourth visit). Thank you - we’ll be back.
