Dave and the Dog & Pheasant crew are as good as it gets in pub dining. Perfect. It's welcoming, personal, great atmosphere and of course excellent food. An old beams and open fire pub and a lovely outdoor garden. What's not too Iike. We've been coming for 15 years and they've never dropped the ball once. We'll be back soon.

Food was lovely, just was a bit slow - took 45 mins to arrive. Didn’t matter as we were enjoying being out!

we were a table of 5 well seated as we had plenty of space. the staff were excellent and very kind to the 12 year old on crutches with us! the food was really tasty well served and nicely presented we did wait a bit but it was well worth the wait. we sampled all the roasts, and a pasta and loved them all. the desserts were gorgeous too! overall a great Sunday lunch and cannot wait to go back.

A lovely setup, nice and warm, friendly staff, excellent food - we had a lovely time! However, first visit in these outdoor socialising times, and I think I would likely give it a higher rating when we are back inside again as the pub looks very nice!

Dave & his team, did a brilliant cheery job, delicious food and as always we were made to feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

Very good service and food. Burger excellent and steak had good flavour. Enjoyed salad with peppers. Lovely atmosphere in the marquee and spacious. Very pleasant rural location which gave it character. It was our first visit to this pub, which was chosen by us as the midway point between Southampton and Sutton. We were so pleased we found the Dog and Pheasant!!

Friendly and helpful staff, arranged a high chair and sat us in a cosy corner with the baby so we kept lovely and warm on a wet and windy day. Food was delicious and great service.

Outside but under cover with good weather. All COVID precautions very well covered. Prompt, efficient service deserving the healthy tip and the prawn starter was memorable.

Took my father for lunch and both had steak and wines... steaks cooked perfectly and the wine was great. Friendly service.

It was great to be able to dine at a pub again even if it was in the marquee. The food was so delicious: the haloumi start is lovely and the rack of ribs main was yummy. A good choice of wines from different areas and for different palates. The staff were so welcoming and excellent service. A great evening.

The staff at the Dog & Pheasant are warm and welcoming from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The food and wine outstanding. Sitting outside in the marquee was warm and festive. Great effort by Dave and his wonderful team.

We had a lovely evening celebrating our daughter’s 15th birthday. I had booked 5 weeks in advance and requested a particular table, but unfortunately were told on arrival that someone else had reserved it. The menu was very little changed from 5 weeks before and as a vegetarian only the same 2 choices were available. However, the meat eaters were very happy with their choices and meals and the service was very good and friendly. We won’t eat there again until they change the menu, but will then be very happy to return.

Fabulous roasts and risottos. Loved being able to meet friends outside in the marquee. Chose a very cold day, but there was some heating and dressed appropriately we were warm and cosy.

Great food and service and I like the atmosphere. Would recommend it to anyone.

The crispy beef salad was fantastic. So much so i googled a recipe straight away so i could recreate at home. My husband had pork ribs which were also very good. Moist and falling off the bone. My mussels were ok, must say I've had better. Chips were luke warm but they replaced them quitehappily. The staff were friendly and helpful. I wouldgo back.

This was our first time out and from arrival we were made to feel very welcome and safe. We were served virtually as we sat down with drinks and food order was taken quickly too. The staff were all very attentive and the food was delicious and hot. We would not hesitate to recommend to our friends and we intend to return next week. We have eaten at The Dog and Pheasant previously and must say it is always a wonderful experience to eat there. So Thank You

Had set up gazebos and seating in the front area so it was possible to sit and eat out even if the weather turned a bit damp which was nice. Food was good - particularly the crispy beef. Will go again

Dave and his team always do a fantastic job. We've been visiting for years and they've never dropped the ball once. They've adapted to C-19 superbly. We love the D&P. Thx guys.

Overall a disappointing dining experience, as we expected more from the quality of the dishes. All the mains ordered (x4) were at best mediocre with the prices reflecting something that should've been a lot more memorable.
