We always enjoy our visit to the Dog and Pheasant and feel comfortable and relaxed. The service was good although we did have to wait a long time for our order to be taken. We’ll be back.
Although the six of us all ordered the same meal, we waited an hour for our food. Also no one bothered to come to take our payment.
Great food good service and very friendly. Had it been warmer to eat out gardens look nice
Very friendly staff but large fish and chips was disappointing for the price.
We waited a long time for our food. Our waiter was polite but the food was not good !
Fantastic food and gin plus fab service. We will be back soon!
I'm a repeat customer so they're doing something right. Love the Grill night!
My brother had travelled up from Bristol and the three of us enjoyed our time and meal very much and would come again. Every aspect of our visit was excellent. Very well done !
Wonderful food and service for a celebration dinner - hope to return again soon
The atmosphere was pleasant but the food was only so, so, just basic pub grub. Not what I was expecting after reading the positive reviews.
We requested a seat outside and our wish was fulfilled! Lovely beer garden. Staff were brilliant bringing food and drinks out. Food was very good
Firstly , excellent service on a busy day at Christmas from the staff. Food as ever was good quality with a wide choice of beers in an unique location.
Excellent evening, lovely log fires burning. very attentive, excellent customer care and the food was amazing.we will defiantly be back and will be recommending to friends and family.
Amazing pub with such a friendly atmosphere and the food was impeccable. I lovely roaring log fire added to a wonderful evening. Many thanks, Mark
Excellent food and service. Only problem was we were seated next to the log fire which made it a bit too warm. Will definitely go again.
We all five of us found the food was excellent and very attentive service from the staff - this place is well worth a visit !
Great time, great company. Regular visitor to The Dog & Pheasant. Can't resist the Chateau Briand it is to die for regardless of cost. When you have such a superb meal you do not mind paying for it. The service was excellent too, a young lady worked really hard on what must have been her first night in the pub, she did well. All in all, a very pleasant place to spend an evening, with good company and good food. What more could one ask for. Well done to all at the Dog and Pheasant, credit where credit due. See you again soon. Best regards Robert Mark Alexander.
Amazing.... loved every mouthful. The service was also fantastic. Look forward to returning in the future. Will certainly be recommending to all my friends. Thanks again.
Good friendly service, lovely food and a nice relaxing atmosphere. A great place to meet and catch up with friends whilst having a thoroughly good lunch.
We went for the steak night and are becoming regular visitors. A lovely steak cooked over the open fire with all the trimmings and plenty of red wine meanth another lovely evening for our party of four. Deserts were wicked too so a pub to be fully recommended!
We went down for the Wednesday grill night. Food was amazing, staff were friendly and welcoming and the area was beautiful. I highly recommend it.
Brilliant staff, good atmosphere, unpretentious but delicious food and a good selection of well-kept beer. Beautiful small village location and an excellent meal all round.
The food at the Dog and Pheasant was good, and the service was friendly and efficient - I would certainly recommend it to other people.
The poached egg on the fishcake would have been more enjoyable if it had a soft centre. The coffee was not as hot as it should have been.
Excellent fish specials, friendly and efficient service. Prices reasonable. Relaxed atmosphere. Not haute cuisine but I did not expect it. Premises slightly quirky and scruffy, which was fine and did not inhibit the enjoyment. Would recommend to anyone for relaxed meal in a pleasant pub.
Thoroughly enjoyable Sunday lunch even with 2 squirming toddlers who prevented us from having desserts! But top marks for the lovely imaginative play area. All 3 generations enjoyed it.
Lovely pub with great food. Very large portions of well cooked and presented meals. Can get very busy, so service suffers a bit, but there was no feeling of having to move on so the table could be reused. Parking on the premises is restricted, but there is a useable field across the road. A lovely setting and a great evening.
Dave and the team always offer such a warm welcome. The food is great and it’s the kind of place you could sit, drink and talk for hours! Excellent selection of G & T’s too!
We loved our meal at the dog and pheasant and it was great catching up with friends. Food was delicious and sourced locally. We loved the pie we had
We had a really nice lunch. The food we chose was delicious, the beer was in excellent condition and the service was good. The only slight negative was that we would have liked more choice of main courses.
It was a fantastic evening and the food was faultless. We will be returning to the grill night again soon for the 3rd time in as many months.
A lovely country pub with a warm welcome and time to speak to the customer. Food is always freshly prepared and delicious. The pie of the day is always a good choice and the sticky toffee pudding to die for! Last time I had lamb koftas with salad and new potatoes - very tasty though I thought the salad was rather small in comparison to the veg my husband got with the pie. Great wine list too. I love this pub - will be going back soon!
Extremely busy so very long wait for food to come, after which one of the main courses brought was wrong so another wait for the right choice. A shame as the food was very good.
Always great. Very nice staff and lovely food! Crispy beef starter was worth going back for. Would recommend to anyone who wants nice country pub drinks and dinner
The lunchtime food was very good and the staff were pleasant and helpful. However we felt that the furnishings were in need of some loving care and that the bathroom (ladies) would benefit from a make-over. We had chosen the Dog and Pheasant because we liked the pictures on the web-site, which definitely looked more appealing. We were disappointed with the reality, especially as we had invited friends to join us.
Poor by the glass wine list but the food was excellent although the portions- lunchtime- were too large. Staff very friendly and attentive. Dining room very “warm”
Fantastic grill night. Lovely atmosphere attentive staff & excellent food! We shall be back. Thank you
Lovely restaurant, great staff and great food, the sticky toffee pudding is delicious. The landlord is lovely and really makes you feel welcome. I would recommend to anyone
Lovely pub with amazing food and wonderful staff. We had a few children ranging from babies to kids and the staff were very helpful and accommodating of all our prams. I’m told the playground was fun by a 5 year old. The food was delicious with the usual pub food and some other seasonal dishes. All the food was fresh.
At here recently for the first time. The food was excellent and the service was great service. Will be back and would highly recommend :)
