The fish and chips option was delicious! Lovely homemade batter that wasn’t stodgy! And the chips were thinly cut potatoes w/ their skins on! Delicious! Well done Mr Chef! The staff gave off the vibe of one big, happy family! There was a lovely ambience to the place and laughter. Great to see camaraderie @ work! An enjoyable evening all round! We’ll head back there again soon! :-)

We all enjoyed our lunch but the door marked TOILETS was open when we arrived and we closed it as there was no fire lit and two of our group felt cold and hoped that there will be a fire lit next time that we come. The most important point is that we should all like to come again

We were disappointed this time having previously had excellent meals at Dog and Pheasant on steak night. The steaks on this occasion were not cooked as we had requested and not up to their usual standard.

I’m afraid to say that the restaurant and bar are filthy and doesn’t make for an enjoyable experience.

We visited here today on our way home from Peterborough with our little dog. What a quant, charming pub. The staff were extremely friendly, great food and service and nice background music (loud enough to hear but not too loud that you could not speak)....inside was really clean and welcoming, whilst the outside garden was a nice space. Would definitely recommend a visit with or without your 4 legged friend

We arrived to find there was no chef as he was off sick.. great start.. well there was.. a stand in chef who couldn’t cook very much at all! There were not specials and hardly any dishes on the menu on offer! One one dish on offer for the birthday girl who is coeliac and was looking forward to a lovely fish dish.. (had as always checked the menu before even booking) Then asked if there was really not anything the chef could put together as a fish dish and was offered ham, egg and chips!! Seriously!! To be fair a message should have got to the dinning party explaining the situation. So that we could have chosen to go elsewhere.Could not fault the waiter he was trying his absolute best to help us even tried find somewhere more suitable. Shame as the sister pub The olive Tree was the reason we came thinking it would be of as good high standard and all very disappointed. Guests in our party have worked in catering for over 40 years and this isn’t acceptable. Sad as that’s out us off trying again too.

Great time, great company. Regular visitor to The Dog & Pheasant. Can't resist the Chateau Briand it is to die for regardless of cost. When you have such a superb meal you do not mind paying for it. The service was excellent too, a young lady worked really hard on what must have been her first night in the pub, she did well. All in all, a very pleasant place to spend an evening, with good company and good food. What more could one ask for. Well done to all at the Dog and Pheasant, credit where credit due. See you again soon. Best regards Robert Mark Alexander.

We went for the steak night and are becoming regular visitors. A lovely steak cooked over the open fire with all the trimmings and plenty of red wine meanth another lovely evening for our party of four. Deserts were wicked too so a pub to be fully recommended!

The poached egg on the fishcake would have been more enjoyable if it had a soft centre. The coffee was not as hot as it should have been.

Excellent fish specials, friendly and efficient service. Prices reasonable. Relaxed atmosphere. Not haute cuisine but I did not expect it. Premises slightly quirky and scruffy, which was fine and did not inhibit the enjoyment. Would recommend to anyone for relaxed meal in a pleasant pub.

Thoroughly enjoyable Sunday lunch even with 2 squirming toddlers who prevented us from having desserts! But top marks for the lovely imaginative play area. All 3 generations enjoyed it.
