Excellent food and effficient friendly service which was pitched just at the right level. Highly recommend this restaurant. Would be very surprised if you did not have to book.
Food and service always excellent . Well worth a try! The only downside is it lacks a bit of atmosphere but the quality of food is as good as it gets.
Fantastic as always. the dressed crab starter is too die for. Excellent service and staff always happy to answer any questions. Book early as place is smallish
An absolute favourite. Wonderful food. Before 1600 - best fish and chips ever. Other favourites crab linguine' scallops and black pudding, daily specials. Had lobster which was amazing, potted salmon, Arbroath smokies dish, Cullen skink - all brilliant. Lovely service, lovely atmosphere - a hidden gem.
Small restaurant which means that booking is essential. Staff were exceptionally kind and attentive. Menu is limited but the fish is cooked to perfection. We will be going again.
Fantastic food. Will definitely be back! Seared tuna was remarkable, our favourite. The whole meal was delicious. The wine, Albariño, was perfect accompaniment. Thank you
A hidden gem in the Southside beside Shields Rd Underground. Restaurant is quite small and lovely decor. The staff are very friendly and professional. Menu has a good choice of fish dishes and chicken for non-fish eaters. High quality food and beautifully presented.
Excellent food and great service from very patient, friendly staff while we took a long time to order from the delicious menu! All in our party agreed it is hard to beat!
Group of five and everybody was happy - clean plates all round. Star of the show was the tandoori sea bass, but the crab linguine and fish cake specials went down well also. Friendly and attentive staff, and a good atmosphere meant a good evening had by all. We will be back!
Delicious. A lovely atmosphere, small and warm, food really a high standard and great menu. Service was excellent, will definitely return. A big thank you.
This was our first visit. The service was first class from arrival. Three course meal for both of us. All dishes were excellent! We will definitely be back.
Quality of both food and service excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending the Fish People Cafe certainly for lunch. I'll be returning soon.
This restaurant is a great find. Excellent food; great service; warm and friendly atmosphere; oh and great wine too which was served very cold, excellent!
Best fish stew in Glasgow by a long way!! Always consistently brill food! Really good service and.. at the subway so easy for west-Enders to come to the south side for a great meal!!
Excellent service, food was fantastic. Staff and the team at fish people really do a fantastic job to make you welcome and offer the best service
We were a wee bit late and, possibly as a result, the starter took a while to arrive but I thoroughly enjoyed the food, wine, service, ambiance once we got going. I've been before and will return again, soon I hope. Pretty yummy!
Awesome seafood and friendly staff. I was worried about the food portions but the staff addressed all my food concerns. And the dressed crab was a dish to die for. The dessert(caramel and coconut mousse) was one of the best desserts i ever had! Thumbs up for this restaurant!
This was our first visit to The Fish People Cafe, but it won't be our last. As expected it's all about fish and seafood, but there was a good choice of dishes, alll very tempting. Everything we chose was truly delicious, simply on a different level from other restaurants. This will become a favourite for future evenings out.
Food was excellent - varied menu with lots of interesting options. Service was also very good with staff very helpful. Small restaurant but atmosphere was lively.
Delicious fish stew. Friendly staff. The door was very stiff and we nearly turned away as we thought it was locked. Nice decor. The tandoori sea bass could have done with some vegs with it.
There is nowhere better in Glasgow for fish. Great menu and helpful staff operating out of a small restaurant next to the fish shop at Shields Road. Location is in a bit of no mans land but inside the place is charming and the food delicious and not expensive for the quality.
Small and friendly, very fresh and delicate fish flavours including curried fish. Small but adequate range of mainly white wines. We had a party of 6 and had a great time.
Fabulous lunch here on December 30th. Lovely atmosphere, very attentive staff, delicious food and spotlessly clean restrooms! Dressed crab starter and day special of tuna and goats cheese tartare specially recommended.
WE did enjoyourmeal and found the quality of food excellent. WE would ideally have liked a little more room in the restaurant to add to the ambience. STaff were friendly and helpful.
Food was very good and the service was excellent. Very helpful waiter who moved us to a different table further from the door when he noticed that my elderly mother seemed a bit cold. That action alone speaks volumes in terms of customer care. Good ambience, relaxed and enjoyable.
Meal was excellent and staff very helpful. My companion left a shopping bag behind and our waiter ran to the subway platform to catch up with us!!
Brilliant food excellent customer service wish there was one like this in Cheshire. I can't justify a 4 hour train journey every time I fancy a meal here
A lovely little restaurant a bit off the high street but definitely worth the travel. Got the tip from a cook who told me that most professional chefs in Glasgow buy their fish at the fishmonger associated with this restaurant. Don't know if this is true, but I can very well imagine it.
First time visited. Was recommended. We dined on a Saturday lunch time off the main menu and all the food was fab. Hubby had scallops and chorizo after his cullen skink. Mum had grilled sole and I had tandoori sea bass. The sea bass was best I've had and I let them know ☺️ Apparently the Bakewell tart and Tempranillo were great too. Ambience is nice, it being small and intimate. Spotless toilets. Couldn't fault it.
The food was great and the service outstanding. The location has been well thought out. The freshness of the fish is incredible. I would recommend this to all my friends
As ever a great night out. Fab food and attentive service. even on a busy night. Thanks again - even for the additional entertainment of R2D2
Great as ever. Just love the Tandoori Angelsey Sea Bass. Great little place to visit. Only a couple of stops on the subway from St Enochs centre, Shields Road, about 3mins. Brilliant food and great service. Will be back 🙂
Amazing, food was great, i had shrimp-goat cheese salad and sea bass, everything was fantastic, flavoursome, particular, really well made, super-fresh ingredents. It was worthy the money
The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed. The waitress was extremely helpful and knowledgable. The food was cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food and service. I would highly recommend a visit to the Fish Place Cafe. The staff were knowledgeable about the merits of matching individual wines to foods. Olso a good selection of beers.
There was an excellent choice on the menu and the food when it arrived was beautifully present and excellent. The staff were patient and friendly without being overbearing.
Outstanding food - perfect service. Great find in an unexpected location. Good choice of dishes and wine menu. Enjoyable lunch - will go back soon
Excellent! Very good service, quick but unobtrusive. It was difficult to choose between dishes from the menu as they all looked great on paper. Presentation of every dish was to a really high standard and wonderful to eat. Delicious!
Quite modest looking, yet inside the decor, customer care and overall experience is beyond compare. The food offered is unparallel. We choose this place for special occasions only as we are not based in Edinburgh. Otherwise we would probably be there once a week at least.
Once again thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Fish Cafe, excellent Cullen Skink with tasty stone bass we will be returning soon to enjoy the food and wine.
