The Fountain at Clent

The meal was lovely but it was quite loud . we used a voucher worth £80 the meal came to £74 and was told we couldn't have change as it was a voucher we don't really understand why .we did say to keep the change which were going to do anyway but out of politeness we should have been offered the change.

We visited The Fountain for our 60th Wedding Anniversary. A congratulatory message was added to the menu which was a nice touch. Our half-duck was amazing - a very large portion cooked to perfection - crispy skin and tender succulent meat. The steamed veggies were tasty - maybe a little al dente for some - but the Dauphinoise potatoes were excellent. Everything was presented nicely and steaming hot. We had no room for a dessert, so opted for a filter coffee which surpassed our usual Americano in the town's coffee chains. All in all, an excellent first visit which will be repeated and recommended.

I asked for a quiet table and we were sensitively seated away from a large group of diners. Waiting staff were friendly and helpful even when we were the last ones to leave. Oh and of course the food was delicious!

We all enjoyed our meals and would recommend the restaurant any time.

Haven’t been for a while but The Fountain is still an excellent eatery. Food, staff, service outstanding along with a good choice of gluten free options. Highly recommended.

We visited the Fountain for my partner, 65th birthday very impressed with the food, the staff, the venue, the location, the cleanliness and the expertise of the waiting staff, The food was excellent

Great food and very friendly never come away feeling hungry

Staff were attentive, I had Cajun salmon which was served with a tomato sauce and raw red cabbage, which did not work with the fish! We have what was supposed to be homemade breads with dipping olive oil and balsamic, what was served was a slice of white bread cut in half! It all seemed a bit stuck in a 70’s time warp! Definitely won’t be rushing back any time soon.

A little cramped in the corner but food was delicious and well catered for being gluten free.

Excellent food and service. The staff were so lovely making sure all was well and they provided a wonderful dining experience especially as it was my parents diamond wedding anniversary.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was cooked to perfection, the steak was cooked as requested and the portion sizes left no room for dessert. 100% recommend a visit to The Fountain :-)

Meal out to celebrate pending birthday it was packed as usual so had a wait for a drinks order to be taken. Food did not take too long from ordering and as expected was excellent quality. Portions were a little large but plenty of fresh vegetables. Staff were friendly and service good thanks for a good evening.

Prices seem to be increasing and portion sizes decreasing. Scotch egg starter was lovely but everything else ok but wasn't overwhelmed

The variety and quantity of vegetables was excellent however there was a quarter wedge of cabbage which to share was impossible. It was cooked al dente possibly too al dente to be shared. Shame.

Couldn't fault the food or service which were both excellent. But this was a busy time and the atmosphere was more cramped than intimate, more market place than relaxed. Also being seated near the door meant a frequent draught..

The Fountain has always been our favourite restaurant for special occasions. Food is first class, service as always is at an exceptional level. The Valentines meal with a complimentary glass of Champagne on arrival was a wonderful touch.

A really good lunch. Unfortunately two of the servers, however well intentioned, were clearly not adequately trained. The young lad didn't know about the drinks and the girl was hovering over us wanting to clear plates whilst one of our party was still eating. Also their piling up of dirty plates was frightening, and they were very lucky not to have major breakages. They really don't have to clear the whole table in one go. Nice young staff but proper training would create a far more professional impression.
