It was a total treat - such creative cooking, both in terms of flavour and presentation. The service was friendly and efficient. I had high expectations and was certainly not disappointed.
5 courses of pure deliciousness - a special night out
It wasn’t cooking - it was alchemy! Every course was stunning. Absolutely stunning. Wonderful service as well from knowledgable, very friendly staff.
The food was just amazing. Every bite was orgasmic. You’d think the food can’t taste any better and then the next dish comes and blow your mind. Every dish was innovative and a work of art. Beyond brilliant !
A brilliant little place. Everything from the food to the service was delightful.
The Little Fish Market is a truly fabulous restaurant. Wonderful service and simply delicious, clever food. This is the best food this side of London.
The service was very pleasant, the food was interesting, one or two stand-out dishes - the slow cooked beef with oysters and the smoked fjord sea trout. The drawback was that the cheapest bottle of wine was £30 for a reasonable but unexceptional bottle. A glass of 125 mls was around £8. Some nice 'extras' to start.
Food was amazing, service impeccable, highly recommend a visit (maybe wish they had slightly more comfortable chairs given you’re in there a while) on the whole a 9.5 out of 10
What a great place. Fantastic food, great personalised service and a wonderful evening.
Quiet relaxed restaurant with some of the best food I’ve ever had. The waiter was very pleasant and helpful who explained all the dishes. Very highly recommended.
Another excellent visit to the LFM. Super service and delicious food.
A really wonderful place. Innovative tasting menu dominated by fresh locally sourced fish ( the clue is in the name ). Attentive but not intrusive service. Paid attention to the details of our booking in terms of dietary preference. All round highly recommended - book well in advance.
Brilliant! Wonderful meal and service, will return and soon. Thank you.
Outstanding food , perfectly balanced menu and attentive charming service. Cannot wait to return
Excellent food and drink together with attentive - sometimes a little over-attentive - service. Many thanks for a very pleasant evening.
Great food, outstanding service and perfect for a special occasion.
My wife and I love this restaurant, with Duncan cooking superb dishes and Rob taking such good care of us who could ask for anything more. Keep up the great work guys.
Just perfect - food and service. Well worth a visit.
Amazing food, fantastic service, great atmosphere! Will definitely be coming back
The food was wonderful, and absolutely lovely staff, thoroughly recommend.
Fantastic food. Fantastic waiting staff, who were very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this restaurant
Terrific service, innovative and delicious food, I really enjoyed myself on this first visit. Server was so friendly and great job explaining what was coming out of the kitchen. I liked the light and brightness of the venue, but the chairs and tables where I was sitting in the "back" (also looks out over the street) were a little rickety (felt a bit uncomfy and insecure, like they might break). Very tiny item though, really it was great and I'd like to visit again.
Booked a table for 8pm on Thursday for my girlfriend's 50th. Very nice welcome into a very relaxed and chilled atmosphere. The menu for the evening was explained to us and we were given wine a list to peruse. We both opted for the wine tasting menu and I have to say it was a great choice. We were then given some local English sparkling wine and some small appetisers as a nice surprise before we started the menu for real. The menu was 1. Monkfish-Curry-Carrot, 2. Crab Ravioli-Sweetcorn Chowder, 3. Sea Bream-Cep-Butternut-Hazelnut, 4. Salmon & Oyster Risotto, 5. Wild Bass Nicoise, 6. Plum Tart The surprise appetisers were delicious especially the Smoked Mackeral Eclair and matched really well with the local English Sparkling Wine from Rotherfield. Each course was a real surprise with so many extremely well match flavours. The crispy skin on the Sea Bream was exquisite as was the sweetcorn chowder sauce on the Crab Ravioli. The wild Seabass was cooked to perfection and a delight. The wines were really well matched to each course. We finished up with the Plum Tart which was indeed quite tart but amazinly well matched with the sweet Tokaji wine which after a mouthful of the tart, did not taste sweet at all. There was also some very mellow jazzy/bluesy music which was fitting for the ambiance. The whole evening was a delight from start to finish and Duncan and his excellent team really got it all right. Also the waiter, whose name I have inexplicably forgotten was very knowledgable, friendly and entertaining and added to the whole experience. Add to that the fact that I had a Gourmet Society Card and was able to take 25% off the entire bill, made it an unforgettable experience at great value.
We have been many times to the LFM and service and atmosphere are always fantastic - this is our favourite treat in town. Chef Duncan is very reliable but this time the food really excelled. Thank you!
Introduced friends to TLFM for the first time! They loved it, from the warm welcome by Rob, through the varied and many courses of delicious fare to a chat with the chef! Faultless!
Amazing food and charming front of house service. We had the additional wine pairings which I would highly recommend to complement the creative delicious food
Absolutely the best selection of the freshest fish impeccably cooked and presented.
Excellent service. Delicious food. Great night! Would definitely recommend. Thank you!
One word: perfection. The food and the service is a dream, I will never forget how wonderfull this evening was!
Best meal i’ve had in Brighton, the service was also excellent.
How this doesn't have a Michelin Star is anybody's guess, but having eaten at many, Little Fish Market stands cheek-by-jowl in terms of both the menu and service.
Fabulous thank you worth the wait to get a booking
Very special place! Amazing food, very very small portions but after the 7courses and pallet cleansers in between you will not leave hungry! The wine pairing is definitely worth trying. The atmosphere and service was also spot on.
Excellent - amazing food, and I recommend the wine pairing option.
Beautifully presented and delicate dishes. Appetisers and a couple of the mains were outstanding. A couple were a miss. Service was slower than expected - three hours for 6 courses. Overall great. Going again.
Tasty and elegant food, beautiful paired wines, calm and lovely atmosphere.
Delicious food and Fab wine list , very good service. Perfect. Highly recommend it.
Spectacular. An exceptional level of service from the waiter and the food was something really special. We’ll definitely be going back and would put this as one of the best restaurants we’ve eaten at - right up there with NoBu ! A real hidden gem in the city.
It was a birthday celebration and totally lived up to expectations.
It was a very pleasant evening with delicious tasty morsels well served but overpriced. Very expensive wines.
great food knowledgeable chef and front of house - lived up to expectations
It is surprising that this restaurant isn’t even more highly rated. I would have thought that it merits a Michelin star or two.
Amazing host, lovely ambiance and above all incredible food. Thank you
Outstanding Service was great and very knowledgeable Food is sensational 6 course fixed menu with paired wines 💑
Overall a fantastic night and we left feeling very satisfied and we would return. Constructive criticism: We did feel that the portion sizes were very small and there weren't enough 'luxury' items in the dishes i.e. lobster, truffle, etc. to make the dishes rich (which would make up for them being smaller). All dishes were beautifully presented and tasty, not as many 'WOW' dishes as i was hoping for, but still a very enjoyable meal. The best element of the whole night was the service, absolutely fantastic waiter and he really made our night enjoyable and memorable. I work at Brighton College and my colleagues are big fans of The Little Fish Market and my Husband is a successful Head Chef in Sussex so we have been meaning to come for ages and are glad that we did. We will be back. Thank you.
Exquisite 6 course taster menu, great wine list and fabulous service - couldn’t fault it!
It's difficult to get a table here, but we can see why, because it's so great! It was well worth the wait; the food, service and atmosphere were just perfect. Thank you so much.
Excellent food, wonderful service. A special treat. Beautifully prepared super fresh ingredients, not overly complicated, very good wine list, attentive and personable service in a relaxed and peaceful setting
