Absolutely delighted food in a glorious setting with a roaring log fire! Fantastic service and knowledgeable staff! Brilliant all round! Loved every moment of it!

Dreadful service and rubbish food. When we arrived we informed the manager/maitre’d we had a table booked he just pointed at a table and said that was ours - no attempt made to show us to a table and make us feel welcome. The waitress came and took our order for our meal and drinks at the same time - all a bit rushed and pressured . Then our starter appeared within 5 minutes well before our drinks made it to the table. Our main course appeared very quickly after the starter and was well not good. We both had a rather rubbery gristly steak served on a bed of lukewarm lumpy mashed potato reminiscent of school dinners. Not good enough for nearly £32 a portion, I’ve bought better steaks from Lidl! We then had a rather weak coffee. Overall in and out the restaurant having had two courses and a coffee in under an hour at around £107. Previously had wonderful meals here but the service, ambiance and food are not up to scratch for restaurant of this calibre. We will not be back in a hurry.

Food was ok, but we’d finished our starter before the drinks even arrived. We’ve had better meals there, I think last night was just an off- night for them.

Tasty Early Evening Meal at the Mustard Seed. We had the chicken wings and the Seaweed crab cake for starters then the chicken for mains, followed by a strawberry and passion fruit cheesecake, a really good meal with excellent service.

Food average service rushed have been to mustard seed 5 times over last few years they have really gone down hill won’t be back

Lovely atmosphere and staff were warm and friendly. Food was good starters were mussels very good mackrel salad ok, a lot of bones and not much flavour. Mains..steak special lovely but garlic crushed potatoes very over powering garlic taste. Halibut very nice but green beans very over cooked and leathery. Puddings nice but not the wow factor. Presentation could be better. Overall a nice meal but wouldn't rush back.

My husband and I were left disappointed. We booked a table on my birthday. Indeed in the past we were always satisfied with the environment, food and service. The food was again prepared at an excellent standard. Following the main course, we ordered the cheese board. After 25 minutes we asked the waitress what is happening. It became clear that it was not prepared and we cancelled it. However, another staff member brought up a plate with cheese and crackers stating that they run out of celery and grapes! Of course, we turned down the order. Regarding the service and in contrast to the past, the bottle of wine we ordered arrived uncorked and I asked to check the bottle. Small etiquette matters, such as the insistence to be called guys considering our senior age, question if we want more drinks with the bottle still half full did not help to alleviate our experience. We left the restaurant wondering if the standard of quality we were accustomed to has changed or perhaps it was a bad day in the office!

Booked online and requested river view table on the upper level. Fantastic welcome to the restaraunt and taken straight to our table. Restaraunt looked fully booked . Service was timely and excellent Meals and drinks for the four of us was spot on and very enjoyable. A great experience and would recommend

The staff were excellent the food was terrible . Cold soup half a bowl arrived . Steaks badly cook and poor quality . One carrot on the plate looked terrible food was nit good at all . Need to relook at the food coming out of the kitchen

The Mustard Seed is one of my favourite restaurants. The atmosphere is fabulous and the food was amazing, we didn’t have long to wait for it to arrive. The staff were happy and very attentive. We were seated by the fire which was lovely as it was so damp and wet outside. As usual the tables were filling up and there was a lovely buzz about the place.

We had a lovely time, only downside was the wait we had to be served, we waited over 15 minutes until someone came over to take our drink & food order, I actually had to ask the lovely lady (didn’t get her name) to come and take our order.. food was great and we enjoyed our time there.

Always love a visit to the Mustard Seed when I'm in Inverness. It's a warm and inviting restaurant with lovely staff and a great atmosphere. Food is always good and when you can have 2 courses and a bottle of wine for 2 people, under £100, it's also great value.
