The Mustard Seed Restaurant

We ate here on our last visit to Inverness so there was no question about where we ate this time! Lovely food, friendly staff. We turned up early for our booking and they sat us without fuss. Will be back.

We booked our reservations weeks in advance, and travelled from Canada, for our wedding anniversary (noted in the booking). We had inattentive and rushed service, and at the end we're told (with no explanation?) we could not order dessert and offered the bill, so we then felt We were being pushed out for another customer to take our table. We then had to walk around to find someone to finally take our payment so we could leave and go elsewhere to finish our night. Our meal was also mediocre - grocery store gnocchi at best - Would NOT recommend for a special night out

Food was cold ,had to send back to be heated by which time chicken was dry .Veg was inedible hard and chewy .very disappointing main course.

Food was good, not extraordinary. Same with service. Our waitperson was very pleasant but seemed somewhat preoccupied by having to deal with a table of 12 or so people, and then having to separate the tables when they left and re-set them. Pretty space, but even though it’s adjacent to the river, you would never know it. We made this reservation largely because it was by the river, but there was no view to the outside from the dining room. Prices were reasonable.

Chicken was dry and tough, couldn't eat it, looked like a reheat. Terrible birthday lunch, every disappointed

The food was delicious and the service and attention from staff was first class.

The service was great. We have two ninety year olds with us and they made sure to give us a ground floor table near the cloakroom

Service was outstanding; all dishes were delicious. We had a wonderful experience. If we lived in Inverness we’d be back as regulars.

Everything was fantastic, except for the noise level. Not very easy to speak with your friends without having to shout.

From the minute we walked in the staff were really attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing ,excellent quality and all fresh.

Shown immediately to our table overlooking the lower floor of the restaurant, service was prompt and helpful and the meals we had from the specials board were first class. Strongly recommend this restaurant

We were visiting from the US and had heard good things about the restaurant, so decided to give it a try. The food and atmosphere were fantastic, and our server Angeline made the night exceptional. We actually ended up stopping again for lunch on our way back from north to south and had an equally great experience. We highly recommend this spot!

Lovely restaurant. Chicken dish dry and overcooked. Waitress said she would tell the chef but got no feed back. Waited 15 mins for a peroni that was sitting on a tray at the bar, informed waitress and she said 'Will I go and get it for you'. Hope if we go again things will be better.

As usual the staff were all very pleasant and efficient and the food was excellent and good value.

Unfortunately the ovens broke before I got my main course. The wine and starter I picked was wonderful. There was a bit of a delay in letting me know that I would not actually be getting my main course which was unfortunate. Otherwise, it was a lovely location and I was glad I went.

Unfortunately had to send sea bass back as stone cold. Another brought which was better but still not as hot as should have been. Long time customers of Mustard Seed but this is now twice running that a cold meal has been served.

Staff exceptionally good. Attentive and considerate. Could linger over lunch.

Food was ok but staff was at first way too quick. Did not even have time to look at the drinks before ordering. Starter and main served in 25 min… Staff was also busy with each other instead of busy with customers

Top quality food from a varied menu and the service was excellent. Good atmosphere and great location.

Maybe it was an off night but our fish entrees were underwhelming especially the halibut. The chicken was also dried out

Friendly from start to finish, very tasty food and didn't feel pushed out even when we overstayed our time by s few minutes, cos we lost track of time chatting

Well unfortunately we were disappointed, service was fast enough, but no one checked to see if it was ok or did we need anything else, We had the venison , but it really had no flavour and was on the tough side, also the lasagna , I am not a big eater but it was an appetizer size portion , we had so looked forward to our night , we had heard so many good things …

Great visit and the food was lovely. The Sea Bass was a very small portion but well cooked . All the meals were well cooked and tasty.

you might wish to train your staff a bit better. other than that the place is nice and the food is good.

Hadn't been for far to long. As good as always. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Just superb.

Food was lovely but our order was lost in the kitchen and after waiting near to an hour we had to ask where our food was. At that point the staff realised we had no food and only then did they start cooking our meal. Very apologetic, didn't charge us and the food was really good but overall not a good experience.

Food and atmosphere was perfect We were running late for our reservation because our tour was running late, but they were very accommodating and did a great job greeting us and serving us. Highly recommend dining with mustard seed restaurant.

We were a party of four and were happily seated before our reservation time. The men in our company ordered the steak. Both were not happy with the cuts of meat. It had too much fat. I had heard good reviews but was not that impressed.

Food was good Dessert I wanted was unavailable which was a bummer Service was good
