Great experience from start to finish. Staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.

Met our family for an evening birthday meal. Excellent service with good space between courses and everyone enjoyed the food. Upstairs table with a view over the river added to our experience. Will certainly come back.

An amazing visit to the mustard seed. Food was excellent and service was top tier, the meals came out in a timely manner did not feel rushed. Booked the table for a birthday dinner and requested a seat over looking the river ness that did not disappoint. Really appreciated the attention to my request, nothing else was asked for in the request. The sparkler and scoop of ice-cream was a wonderful touch, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you!

Fabulous, friendly, attentive service. Both lunch courses very tasty and perfectly cooked.

Four of us went out for a pre-Christmas dinner, great food and atmosphere in the restaurant. The views over the river were great, Christmas lights switched on, a real buzz about the place. Well done to the Mustard Seed team!

We had a lovely lunch, service from our waitress Kalla was excellent. Lovely young girl, 10 out of 10 for her. We had an issue which we explained and was going to be dealt with. Food was amazing, as always.

Great dining at the Mustard Seed tonight. Haggis starters, piping hot Fish pie, roast chicken with a cheese and leak sauce, seasonal veg all excellent. Service was on the ball and we shared a cheesecake fo finish the meal. We'll done to the complete team.

Another great meal at the Mustard Seed. One of us had the steak, and the other had the chicken, both really tasty. Shared an Orkney fudge cheesecake for dessert, topped the meal off nicely. Looking forward to our next visit.

Service was not great, we couldn’t be offered Prosecco glasses for our Prosecco as they were all out on another table - I would have thought you should be able to cater for all tables

Two of us went for the early evening menu, good value and really tasty. Not too busy so no gaps between courses. Service was friendly so all in all a great night out!

Service from staff was very good, so was the food! The only downer was the odour from the log fire, the flue has to be faulty. All our clothes smelled of fumes, had to wash them all before we could use them again!

Have been coming to the mustard seed for years and have never been disappointed, great quality and value for money.

Food was okay at best. Steak overcooked, salmon Hollandaise sauce was odd tasting. Service was awful. We were repeatedly ignored, asked for more water several times only to see server come by table four times without water. We finally were given more water as our check arrived. I will note that was only beverage ordered. Server asked how the food was then immediately turned away without waiting for response. I tipped but wish I hadn’t. We’ve been looking forward to this since our last visit in 2022 when we couldn’t get a table. Very disappointed.

Great choice on the menu, lovely window seat, food was delicious and beautifully presented and waitress was very friendly. Will be back.

Amazing!! The two course lunch is SUCH a great deal and the options were fabulous! I also ordered a drink with Scottish Gin (Highland Negroni) and Panna cotta for dessert. Everything was perfect. I had a table by the gorgeous fireplace and service throughout was spot on. I'll definitely be back on my next visit to the city.

We hadn’t dined with you for years because we don’t tend to plan ahead & are invariably to get a table at the last minute. Glad we booked on this occasion. Lovely food & atmosphere and good to see you very busy at lunchtime.

Service was good, but the food was just okay. I had the lemon sole which wasn't that tasty and was over powered by the potato and beetroot salad it sat on. My wife has the monkfish, which she also thought was tasteless. We have been before and it was great, not so much this time unfortunately.

Unfortunately the food was not as hot as it could have been. Same with the coffee which was cold. Otherwise the food was good and the service was good considering it was a busy night.

Amazing evening, choice of 2 menus as we ate early; I had the bruchetta which had exactly the right amount of balsamic glaze, delicious, hubby had the salmon & prawn cocktail which he raved about. Mains were the cod from the specials and the venison - both cooked to prefection and served with great though for the accompaniments. The service was great, staff freindly and chatty without being always hovering, which can be offputting - drinks and food served promptly, not to much of a wait between courses. the sun even came out for our evening, clear view over the Ness - will definitely be back

Lovely lunch. Restaurant was busy and starters arrived super quick. Only negative was the gap between starter and main was fairly long but when it did arrive food was beautiful.

Beautiful restaurant, unfussy but elegant, lovely staff, excellent food, perfect for birthday meal. Very busy so some things were slightly slow, but to be expected.

Had a lovely meal when we visited Inverness definitely worth a visit

The atmosphere was exactly what we like...lively, not too loud or too quiet. Our waitress, however, was horrible. Never made eye contact, threw our plates and glasses down, spoke in a clipped, rude way...almost like we offended her when we'd only just sat down. (Apparently had boyfriend issues, we later found out). Food was great except for the sole preparation, but that was for sure more of a preference thing vs a culinary issue). All in all, our experience was great because another server took our table, and Katrina is superb. Lily needs more training in basic etiquette and hospitality. Honestly, it may have been the very first Scottish server in 30 places who wasn't a lovely personality in our entire trip. Oh well...still somewhere to visit 100%.

Wonderful family meal to celebrate our daughters birthday. Food and service were fabulous. The Mustard Seed is in the more expensive price bracket in terms of dining in Inverness. It was definitely worth the price paid.

My wife had her main from the specials board, a pasta dish that was really tasty. I had the steak medium rare which was slightly over, however I still enjoyed it. Both of us had the cheesecake for sweet which was delicious. Service was very efficient.
