Food and service were excellent, only had main course so can't comment on desserts. Nice selection of wine, reasonably priced, had a very nice Australian Sauvignon blanc. Overall very good experience

Excellent food and a lovely atmosphere, went out for an early mother's day meal and really enjoyed it! Would highly recommend the burger and the onion rings, and an excellent selection of gin as well.

Very enjoyable meal . Good service although far too warm and unable to turn heating down. Waitress did try. Food was delicious. Never fails to impress

Very noisy due to rugby being televised, which is obviously to be expected. Starters Cullen skink and chicken strips fine. Steak and fish as mains also fine. Chips a bit on the hard side. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Good food and really busy.....happy to eat in here again! Also had a good selection of beer. The service was quick and friendly...with the overall experience good value.

Excellent food and service. The bar area was a little busy and noisy just when we arrived but did settle down a little very quickly. Very attentive and pleasant staff.

Good menu choice, prompt friendly service. Beautiful Cullen Skink that would make a great main course, Fish and chips very crisp and a generous portion, so straight to coffee. Certainly worth revisiting.

Nice welcome on arrival and given a choice of seating. Varied menu with additional specials. Enjoyed a very nice meal, served at a good pace, despite bar/restaurant being busy.

Fantastic pub Staff very helpful with elderly man and new baby, service was amazing and love that they had smaller portions on offer home made pie was to die for and the fish was huge and very tasty. Well done will definitely be back

Nice rustic type pub. Great, friendly service and good food. Would recommend a trip here for the fish and chips alone. Very knowledgeable about food intolerance. I'm coeliacs and staff were able to provide me with gluten free options. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a meal on New Year's Eve. The food was excellent, large portions and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We couldn't have asked for better & will definitely go back. Thank you!

Found the restaurant unpleasantly cold. We liked that we were offered the option of smaller portions but did not like the style of presentation which meant the food piled high making eating difficult. Food average pub grub.

This is a charming pub restaurant. The staff occasionally get things mixed up but they are happy to correct anything and are charming. Food is very good. We use this restaurant quite a bit

Despite it being Christmas Eve the staff were their usual friendly self with great service. Hadn’t realised there was a set menu but was good value. Not the usual high standard but we both had three courses & loved the atmosphere. This is a regular place for us so we will be back.

Our meals were very tasty and the portions were very.generous. The staff were all very friendly and we had a very enjoyable time. Look forward to our next visit.

As usual, the food was excellent. Unfortunately, we couldn’t have the Christmas menu as that had to be preordered, but the salmon, chicken and pie were lovely. The 2 things that disappointed us most were the coldness of the restaurant area (some of our party kept their coats on - we were told the heating was broken), and it took 45 minutes from the time we ordered to deliver the main courses, which was far too long for us that didn’t have a starter.

Food was lovely and staff very friendly. Reason for not getting a 6 was that we would have liked to have been nearer the fire and the barman (although very friendly) seem very rushed.

Food good, had sirloin today. Partner had the Irish stew. Both excellent. The Riccarton has really evolved into a great little pub.

Absolutely lovely Xmas Lunch meal. Soup, salmon and rum & raisin cheesecake with ginger sorbet was all just out if this world. Love the cozy bistro/pub feel of the place. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Lovely friendly welcome. Order taken promptly, food arrived freshly cooked and relatively quickly. Both enjoyed our lunch, will be back again. Great service as usual from the staff.

We had to wait 1 hour for burgers because ther pub had run out of buns, and we were not informed and given the opportunity to change our order. We were time limited as attending Murrayfield and were delayed.

The restaurant has a really cosy feel about it. The food was excellent and the menu offered a great choice. Efficient and friendly service, we’ll definitely be coming here again

We always find the Riccarton very good value. Good selection of beers with friendly staff and always a pleasant atmosphere in the bar. Keep up the good work!

So good, I've booked to go back. We had a table for five and we all enjoyed our food. Staff interaction was very good and service faultless.

Lovely meal had by all 3 of us, very reasonably priced and we were not hurried for our order or to leave which as we hadn't seen each other for 4 months meant we could chat and have a laugh. Will be back soon.

Nothing very special but equally nothing to complain about. Food average for pub grub. Good selection of beers. Drinks served to table which is good. Clean and tidy. Would go back again.

Good food and great service. All four of us had a different dish and were satisfied. Steak cooked perfectly, burgers all good especially the beef and haggis one.

Lots of menu choices, excellent quality food and good service. The food is very high standard pub food, very well presented without being needlessly fancy. Would highly recommend.
