Great meat pie, good whitebait and mushroom and goat’s cheese dish was ok if a little greasy. Pleasant ambiance in pub and staff were friendly. However we had to wait a long time for starters but mains arrived too soon after. Overall good food but could do better.

Great food, delicious Steak and Ale pie. Maybe a little lighter on the salt. Waiting staff excellent, maybe watch for signs from the table , if anything is needed. When babies are present , make sure food ordered for them comes out quickly. Had to wait for a bowl of soup for 20minutes. Overall great service.

Really friendly staff, food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. My husband had the game pie which was homemade and delicious, I had a burger which was also handmade and very succulent. The atmosphere was warm and friendly with lots of locals enjoying a night out.

Host was energetic and hugely welcoming. Had a glorious two course dinner and drinks with swift service and left absolutely thrilled. We had a starter of warm breads and olives. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her field mushroom and goats cheese in homemade tomato sauce, while I ate what I consider to have been the best beef burger I have ever had. The temperature was exceptional, a beautiful colour on the burger and a hint of flavour from the chargrill. All sides were equally well done and very tasty. I would recommend without hesitation, particularly for their Sunday roast.
