One of the worst meals I've ever had. Steak was burnt, mushroom the same. Duck egg for start was raw. The only plys point was desert

Excellent food and great staff that were very helpful and attentive. We arrived early so sat in the bar and had some nice drinks. Times between courses were just right and nothing was rushed or too slow. Most enjoyable evening. We will definitely be returning.

Thanks to Grant, Lana and all the team for a super evening made especially enjoyable by their excellent service. Thanks chef for the crab soufflé an indulgent but stubby starter. 😊

The pub is a lovely place although the chairs we sat in were a bit uncomfortable but not a massive deal. We ordered two burgers and two Sunday roast. The burgers were delicious as well as the chips. Unfortunately the beef roast was not very nice. The beef it's self was very fatty and we hardly ate any of it. We were disappointed the cut wasn't a bit nicer. Everything else on the plate was lovely. Overall the experience was mixed, some great points and some low points.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Pleasant and well-decorated surroundings. Very good wine list, too. We like the fact that there is no loud background music. Online booking was straightforward.

Food absolutely excellent, made my little granddaughter very welcome and altogether a lovely Iunch. It did however take quite a long time to get our meal ordered and it was also quite a long time between ordering and the meal arriving. Nevertheless it is always worth waiting for .

Can not fault this place, food was again first class and fairly priced. The salmon in a red Thai sauce with rice was perfectly spiced, the rib eye was succulent although a little small. Cheese soufflé starter was very tasty and quite filling. Great sticky toffee pudding and creme brûlée to finish the meal off . Staff were friendly and service was good, we left very happy and will be visiting again very shortly.

Hit and miss. Room booked for two people and only set up for one. Tea and coffee not replenished during the room cleaning. No hot water and no apology when we mentioned it. One of the staff was v helpful and smiley fetching umbrellas and checking us in. Bit of a blank faced manager tho. Wouldn't rush back.

Thr Ruddington Arms has a great atmosphere, excellent food and attentive and efficient staff. It can be busy at the weekends. The menu is varied and interesting. I enjoyed crispy fried squid on a base of lettuce and pieces of fettle (cheese) on a sweet chillie sauce, followed by a succulent rack of lamb. The furnishings are an eclectic mix of old style furnishings which works very well

Very flavoursome food, well cooked and presented. We were a party of four had four starters, four mains, two puddings, four coffees , a bottle of wine and two beers. The bill was just under £30 a head which was great value for money. The service was efficient, friendly, and unobtrusive. Will be back.

Another excellent Sunday lunch this time in the garden enjoying the spring heatwave! Tom the duty manager as professional as ever and the new fine wine list is a great addition to the wide selection of wines already available, try Chocolate Block a wine to be savoured at length with good food and in good company.

The meal was nice but not excellent so therefore slightly overpriced. What spoilt the experience was the feeling of eating in a crèche. Too many families who thought it was ok to allow kids to run around (kids of an age that should know how to behave) . Some were even in the restaurant in wheelies. Sorry. Won't rush back.

Food excellence, BUT service was slow for a week day and only about 5 ? tables being used. Also we arrived and when I asked where the toilets were I was told "Oh through there" so I struggled with my mother who couldn't reach the bizarre sink and non named taps. Towards the end of the meal I said this to a member of staff they said "Oh (big word at the Ruddington Arms) there are disabled toilets in a separate place 25 metres away from the main toilets and not signposted at at. The reason I mention this is because my mother was using a walker and clearly disabled. Not friendly, no extra help and even the door with the ramp outside was locked. I had to walk round to ask them to open it.....I'm disabled as well. Food very good, for village pub I thought it on the pricier side BUT excellent selection even if my favourite was on the "specials" board which we were NOT pointed out to us.

Undercooked lemon sole - still blood around the bones and the flesh sticking to the bones - but also tasteless. Chef apparently said that it is his preference to undercook fish
