Lovely decor, it was buzzing with atmosphere, the food was excellent and the service very attentive. Look forward to returning and will recommend to my friends.

Lovely food. The fish and chips were particularly good with tasty peas and fresh, white fish. Service also very good especially as it was coming towards the end of Easter Sunday.

Food at every course was just fantastic. Service very attentive. There were a lot of very noisy children, but that is to be expected I guess as it was Sunday lunch time. We'll definitely be returning.

Beautiful family Sunday lunch. The RA managed to add an extra person to outr booking at short notice, despite having a full restaurants by moving us into the bar area. Food was very impressive

The service for our table of 4 was prompt and the food was excellent and well presented. No complaints at all and we will be back before too long

I am Vegetarian and getting a really good Sunday Lunch is a great pleasure. The three carnivores in the party enjoyed it very much as well. We will be returning.

Nice bit of beef in what is now a pimped out pub. Home made deserts were too good to miss. Would definitely recommend a trip for Sunday lunch.

Great atmosphere, service was excellent with just the right time between courses. Highlight was salmon with Thai red curry which was outstanding with salmon beautifully cooked. Would highly recommend to anyone.

My wife and I come to this restaurant a lot because everything about it is good and it is managed by true professionals at their craft. This Sunday I ordered the Gressingham duck from the 'Specials Board' it was superb. Mark, the chef, excelled himself with the combination of flavours he managed to create on the plate. I followed this with the cheesecake which came with one of the best sorbets I have ever tasted. My wife and I continue to be surprised and delighted with the quality and presentation of the food in this restaurant. Finally, must mention the fantastic staff who work their socks of on busy days, thanks guys and girls. Graham

not a great table, stuck by a walk way, but very nice staff and generally food well above pub level. We will go again I think.

Booked for lunch, was super quick, very tasty and incredibly good value for money. The curried parsnip soup is amazing and the Brie, bacon and cranberry on sourdough is to die for. Cannot fault it!

Lovely village pub with great food and nice atmosphere m, would highly recommend it to anybody. Will be going again, maybe for Sunday lunch next time.

Great food and great service. Really nice atmosphere. I had the duck as a special and was cooked beautifully. My wife had the smoked haddock which came with a lovely rich creamy sauce.

Food was generally good but service was slow particularly when ordering drinks. They were slope to come. The room was pleasant, clean and well laid out.

Unfortunately due to it being Mother's Day food was terrible! My roast beef was full of fat portion was poor , no separate vegetables on side and only 2 roast potatoes ! Prices were also increased and tables so cramped together that you could hardly move ! Last visit few months ago was excellent but will not recommend or visit again after experience yesterday ! Didn't complain at time as didn't want to spoil it for the family !

Really good service very attentive but not too "in your face". Very good food and good choice of beer. Overall it's a really nice pub and dining experience. Highly recommended

Excellent service and food was great. Not sure the surf and turf (lobster and steak) was worth the cost but overall very satisfied and would definitely come again..

Visited on 07/03/16, business lunch with a client. Steak sandwich served in a ciabatta with chips and salad was very nice. The service was good and the food was served in good time. Will be revisiting.

Great food and great service! Ruddington is fairly easy to get to from the centre of Nottingham so we could have a few beers in the locals down the road after!

great choice of food and really good quality, all 6 of us enjoyed our meals. A friendly atmosphere in the pub made for a lovely evening.

Food here is is consistently good, with attentive service and some interesting and carefully chosen wines you can buy by the glass, carafe and bottle. Choose the calves liver (as I did) and it is perfectly cooked to your liking, unusual in many gastropubs, and beautifully presented. RA is a firm favourite in our household.

Would normally score this restaurant with a 6 but unfortunately on this Wednesday evening there were only 3 tables occupied, the room was cold and there was no atmosphere. At 9pm we were the only ones there. On a plus side, the food was excellent.

This was our first visit to the Ruddington Arms,we had been recommended to try it by some friends. We were very impressed with the quality of the overall experience,the food and service was excellent.We will definitely be going back and recommending it.

Lovely pub, lovely food, would return! Few things were dropped and forgotten but quickly rectified for us. Nice to see some families with young children too so family friendly

The welcome was very good and the food excellent. I would say the service on the day wasn't so good, some of the junior members of staff didn't know what they were doing.

Very good food served by helpful staff on a very busy Valentine's day. Thankfully no Valentine's gimmicks. Just a well balanced menu and a very good Argentinean Malbec.

Even though we reserved a table a week in advance, we were seated right next to the exit. The restaurant at the time was mostly empty. I found the wait staff rather rude and left. I'm sure the food would have been nice but the customer sevice was awful and I won't be returning.

bit expensive for a small village could do with being couple of £ cheaper per dish. Staff not over friendly. Some things have been on the menu since it opened could do with more variety changing more regulaly

The Ruddington Arms is one of our favourite eating places. The atmosphere is always lively and there is energy and warmth in the air. Mark and Sarah, your hosts, are throughly professional providing everything you may need for an enjoyable occasion be it a family gathering or a quiet meal for two. Food quality is superb and Mark as head chef brings a dish to life - look out for the specials as these are always worth a try. The range of wines is broad with something for all tastes and coupled with the Ruddy Ales and selection of gins you all too likely to be lead astray! Staff are responsive and eager to please. For all the above reasons the RA has become a destination and without a doubt it has brought a new dimension to the village of Ruddington. Try it, for a meal or just a drink with friends, you won't be disappointed. Graham and Jill.

We visit different restaurants monthly, calling ourselves the Nuthall critics, and we have a scoring system? We were extremely disappointed. We arrived at 7.30 for our 7.45 booking and were told our table would be ready on time, but it was 8.00 before were seated. This wasn't a problem in itself but as the evening panned out the poor communication and service continued. On ordering the meal, the course was served approximately 40 minutes later, also not a problem but no one told us! We then had further waits to see the dessert menu, and receive the order, in fact if we hadn't beckoned the waitress over we wouldn't have got served. As for the food, it was only 'average'. Two of the party ordered the Salmon, which was good but the sides with it apart from the potatoes were inedible. One other ordered the burger which was good, and I ordered the slow cooked ham knuckle. This was reasonable but the meat did not fall off the bone like when I have eaten it before at other restaurants. Would we go back? No

We went for Saturday lunch great atmosphere, service was excellent even though it was very busy very diverse choice of dishes. Food was delicious with goods service .

Heard some good things about the RA from people local to it, so decided to travel the 5 miles to dine here. Atmosphere was lively , a bit brighter and more sparse in decor than expected . The food was certainly the highlight . The salt cod main dish was perfectly cooked and beautifully completed by a few roast veg. The goats cheese curd salad was inventive and full of textural flavour. Not as presentable as the other (cheaper) gastro-type pub in Ruddington , but the high standard of food definitely makes the Ruddington Arms worth a visit .

We enjoyed excellent food and service in a pleasant atmosphere. The menu is comprehensive and there are always some interesting specials available. This is a place to go back to.

Place was nice, with good beer. Food was good, but quite over-priced for what it was. Menu did not offer a great deal of choice.

Ideal location outside Nottingham for lunch when visiting our son, good atmosphere and great choice of food and wine. Would definitely recommend and visit again when back in the area.

Staff was great, friendly and welcoming. That afternoon was cold outside so the staff moved our booking to a table closer to radiator to help us warm up. food was great as always and we have booked to return in Feb, thank you

Four enjoyable lunches, with good service. One small point. The Steak and Kidney pudding was short on kidney, which was a shame! Wont stop us going back however.

Great food. However we ordered nuts as an appetiser whilst waiting for our starter and a jug of water with our alcoholic drink order - neither arrived. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Easy to book the table. Staff friendly and efficient, good product knowledge and accommodated fussy eaters graciously! Food was brilliant, as always. We were really happy with our meals and the value for money.
