Exceptional food, wine and service, will definitely be visiting again in the near future. The atmosphere was good and didn't feel pretentious which is something I was concerned about. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Dining in beautiful surroundings. Lovely staff. Food superb and a lovely treat for my daughter's birthday. We chose from the set menu which was £25 for 3 courses - excellent value for money.
Brilliant place in Hull. Great Food with an amazing great atmosphere. Recommend this place to most people. Worth the price. Great for celebrating special occasions.
Lovely tasty food and nice surroundings. We chose the lunch set menu so the choice of food is limited but of excellent quality and the service was very good.
Lovely food, friendly staff. Nice location. A bit more expensive than it used to be but still a good experience. Parking is avalable nearby on Blanket Row.
Staff were attentive yet never enquired wether we were enjoying their food? , well laid out restaurant unfortunately the food was bland although looked great. A disappoinitng experience
It was worth negotiating the docklands building works to enjoy an excellent lunch at 1884 Dock Street Kitchen. The food was delicious, the staff attentive and cheerful and the decor interesting. The prices were relatively high but not exceptionally expensive for the quality of the menu. Definitely worth a visit, we will be back.
The food & setting were excellent & the set lunch menu was exceptional value. I really enjoyed the a la Carte - cooked oysters & sea trout. The service was a little disappointing - a bit slow & the staff were not particularly helpful when I asked if adjustments could be made for my sensitivities to onions & cows milk
My Fiance and I booked at 1884 on Saturday 22nd of October. On arrival we were escorted to our table where our coats were taken by the concierge. The service from then on just got better and better. As for the meal from the starters to the final dessert was absolutely Michelin star quality. The ambience, food and service made this one of the best evenings my fiance and I have ever experienced. We will be back and will recomend to all we know Brian & Rita
Always dine here when on business in Hull, it's the best . Needs more activity in marina area. New tapas bar will be good when it opens
Possibly our best visit yet, on the Saturday of Freedom Festival, for lunch - a bottle of sparkling in a booth in the bar area while we chatted and ordered, moving to a nice table in the main space for delicious bread, three-course set menu (beef was particularly good and cheese trolley was very impressive) and a bottle of red... Excellent staff all round - made our 2-hour stay very comfortable indeed.
Lovely meal and lovely atmosphere. I really like this restaurant and have never been disappointed. The service is always spot on with just the right amount of attention
Amazing food. Excellent service. 10/10 👌👏 we highly recommend the fillet steak to share!! Best steak I've tasted. Very good wine list. Will be back again soon.
Lovely atmosphere; relaxed, warm friendly, unhurried. Perhaps a little pricey but the food is very good with plenty of selection in the drinks department. All in all, a very pleasant evening. Would recommend.
Amazing gin selection. Complimentary bread and canapés was a lovely touch. Fish cake starter and pork chop main from the set menu were very tasty. Menu description didn't do it justice!
Great lunch. Great service - great food. Great wine list Would have been good if we could have had a round table from the start. Great afternoon - thank you.
We ate at lunch so it wasnt super busy. The service and food was excellent. They didnt rush us from our table and were attentive but not intrusive. Will definitely return and happy to recommend to family and friends.
Thank you for an excellent dinning experience, the staff were very polite and courteous and the food was excellent. We will certainly be visiting again.
As always, excellent food, excellent service and relaxing atmosphere. A good selection on the menu with a great selection of wines and other liquid refreshments.
Excellent as always, great to see the road works fading away too. The staff are always great with food to match. We had the market menu and it doesn't drop in quality from the a la carte. Great value
Top notch food... served and presented by excellent staff. All made a special occasion even more special.. lovely place. We will most definitely be visiting again
Excellent service, fabulous food, best Sunday roast in the area! Very attentive staff and an excellent wine list, coupled with amazing food and a great selection of desserts-food heaven.
The food is good but service can be a bit slow. Our main course were something less than hot when they reached us and there was then a further wait for the vegetables and potatoes to arrive. The roast potatoes were particularly good, though.
Excellent service, excellent food and excellent surroundings. This is the first time we've been to 1884 dock street kitchen, but it certainly won't be the last.
One of our favourite restaurants in Hull. We went for lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday. Lovely welcome, relaxed pre lunch drinks in the bar whilst selecting from the menu. The lunch menu is excellent value and provides a good selection to choose from. Tom had the pork chop with cobnuts and I had the plaice with crab mousse - both delicious. We had desserts white chocolate bread and butter pudding and raspberry frangipan absolutely scrumptious! The coffee here is always superb. Never been disappointed with a meal here.
Beautiful dining area, the food was lovely (venison for me, partridge Wellington for my other half), melt in the mouth meat. We ordered the South African Cabernet Sauvignon which was delicious. Highlight of the meal were our puddings, the toffee apple Mille feuille was very special and the dark chocolate delice combined with coffee ice cream was a perfect duo. Haven't quite given it the full five as my partner was a little disappointed with his double espresso which he said 'lacked punch'. But overall a great meal and we will be going back.
Brilliant food, great location. The lunch menu is fantastic value for money with a good selection of food to choose from. The service here is exceptional.
It's a lovely place, good looking building, nice atmosphere, very attentive staff. The only downside was that the starters were a bit disappointing. However the mains and puddings were fantastic, so I would recommend having just those two. The price is quite steep, but it is worth it. The other downside is that there is no parking, so you have to park in the street and it is quite worrying that you may get a fine (which would make it quite an expensive evening).
We had a wonderful dinner on Friday night. Super helpful staff and the most glorious menu for both wine and food. I cant tell you how wonderful it was to find a restaurant like this in Hull. Truly a diamond in the rough. Thanks for a beautiful night Kind regards Deborah
Top quality food, service and experience. 1884 DSK is the best restaurant in Hull and the improvements to the surrounding area on the marina will only serve to improve the experience of dining there.
We had a great experience at the restaurant. The food and service was a of a very high standard. The staff took their time to explain any queries on the menu and the wine waiter paid particular care in explaining that even screw topped wines can be "corked"-not that this was an issue with the wine we ordered-he was simply helping with a query we had amongst ourselves. We sat in the historic building's window overlooking the glamorous yachts on the marina on a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon-enjoying a beautiful meal and relaxed ambience-what more could you ask for.
I was disappointed with the lunch time menu as I am vegetarian and the choice was very limited. I could not fault the service and the staff, but would think carefully about going back.
Excellent dinner for two - really high quality food, great location, attentive but not intrusive staff - will definitely be back again soon. Very reasonable bill for such a high standard.
Visited 1884 for a business dinner service was good we are off the al acarte menu. We were a group of five so we all order various starters. The main menu was varied at just right for the number of main dishes available so you knew it would be cooked fresh. I had a sirloin steak med-rare I was a little disappointed as it was a little undercooked on the outside and this led to it being fairly rare on the inside, I usually get it well seared on the outside and medium rare in the middle. As I was with customers I didn't wish to make an issue. We all had desserts and enjoyed them very much. Generally always good but on this occasion my main meal was disappointing however all my customers enjoyed their food.
Fantastic food and service bit pricey but worth it Stone bass was lovely and the venison looked good aswell Cheese board was good aswell .
An absolutely fantastic meal with service to compliment. The seasonal menu boasted quality ingredients that where combined beautifully on the plate. The team at 1884 where highly skilled and demonstrated those skills throughout the experience.
Really good food experience!! The food was excellent and the service very professional and friendly. Definitely I would recommend it. Perfect for special occasions. The design was beautiful and smart but without pretension.
excellent food and service . lovely experience, and sister Elizabeth had a wonderful 50th. though drinks a bit expensive, table service was excellent and would recommend 1884 to all friends.
We've visited 1884 on many occasions. Unfortunately this time it was not up to their usual standards. 2 of the 3 steaks were not cooked properly and the third was extremely salty. I hope they sort out the kitchen soon as it's usually one of my go to restaurants.
Wonderful building and setting; friendly and attentive staff and fabulous food! They don't have a children's menu but put together a lovely meal for our 8 year old Godson. Excellent, we're hooked!!
Great location although lots of building work in progress for City of culture the decor and design can't be faulted along with the staff who are polite and real people rather than over trained puppets, the food offering is as good as any restaurant in the City it would not be out of place in London, the price range is at the top end as is the wine which ranges from £25 upwards .
The presentation was nice although the size was very disappointing even for a small lady! (We had to order fries to fill ourselves up!). I had the lobster to start which was tasteless. We also waited 55min between our starter and main course arriving.
First class food and how nice to see quality wine by the glass which is so rare in quality restaurants. So delightful not to feel rushed in any way. An excellent atmosphere in the restaurant when one feels special which sadly is not the case in some so called top restaurants. Will definitely return.
Went for Sunday Lunch. Perfect. My partner and I are both regular visitors to 1884. I say it always feels special and the cheese selection is amazing. He says "The best roast beef he's ever tasted". My family and friends are never disappointed with this Place. Well done 1884.
Went for Sunday lunch, never been before and it was lovely. The whole experience from entering to leaving was perfect and the staff very efficient and friendly. Would love to go back on an evening!
Everything was perfect from the food to the service. Mentioned it was my husband's birthday when booking and he was presented with a birthday platter with our coffee which made his day. We'll definitely be back!
Great food wonderful service....an amazing evening went there with my son and daughter in law to celebrate my retirement, it lived up to all our expectations and beyond.
A very nice lunch and the service was brilliant as normal. A much better start to the meal with the bar area open again. Thanks
I hadn't been for a while . Pleased to say it was as good as it has always been. Value for money it is worth every penny....... I am referring to the lunch menu - I think the a la carte/dinner menu is quite pricey! The menu is different which is what I like. When I go out I like to eat something that I wouldn't normally prepare and eat at home and this does just that
Excellent food. Only negative was that despite there being a number of staff behind the bar upon arrival no one asked us if we would like a drink. Eventually I went to the bar myself
