Another excellent Sunday lunch at 1884 dock street. Again really good food and excellent service with a fabulous atmosphere. Another top Sunday and will definitely be booking again
Wonderful surroundings for a beautiful Sunday lunch. Lemon and Thyme Chicken in a pea and ham soup followed by a slice of medium rare Roast Beef - delicious - would definitely recommend - not forgetting a stunning New Zealand Sauvignon as well!
Fantastic food and whilst not the cheapest, definitely excellent value for the money. Also lovely staff and great surroundings. 1884 is a firm favourite and never disappoints.
As usual fantastic service and a fantastic meal, always go above and beyond. Went for my Mum's Birthday and she was presented with a selection of bite sized puddings and Happy Birthday written on the plate in chocolate!! Just excellent
Excellent service, great recommendations, fabulous food and wine. Expensive but worth it for a treat! Thank you we will be back next time we come to Hull. Really lovely experience.
Everything was perfect from the food to the service. Mentioned it was my husband's birthday when booking and he was presented with a birthday platter with our coffee which made his day. We'll definitely be back!
I have always been very enthusiastic about Dock Street Kitchen - the decor lovely, the food imaginative and well prepared, the staff friendly. On my last two visits, however, I have been somewhat disappointed. The set menu has not changed significantly in three visits (about two months apart) and on the last two visits we had to wait 50 minutes for our main courses. The first time there were two large parties ahead of us but yesterday the place was nearly empty.
Excellent food, superb location and attentive staff. The only drawback is lack of parking, but no fault of the restaurant. Fault of Hull city council.
I hadn't been for a while . Pleased to say it was as good as it has always been. Value for money it is worth every penny....... I am referring to the lunch menu - I think the a la carte/dinner menu is quite pricey! The menu is different which is what I like. When I go out I like to eat something that I wouldn't normally prepare and eat at home and this does just that
A great dining experience. Very pleasant and helpful staff in a lovely restaurant. Highly recommended. The food was faultless and the atmosphere great. A credit to the Hull City of Culture Year.
Great location although lots of building work in progress for City of culture the decor and design can't be faulted along with the staff who are polite and real people rather than over trained puppets, the food offering is as good as any restaurant in the City it would not be out of place in London, the price range is at the top end as is the wine which ranges from £25 upwards .
The presentation was nice although the size was very disappointing even for a small lady! (We had to order fries to fill ourselves up!). I had the lobster to start which was tasteless. We also waited 55min between our starter and main course arriving.
Lovely fantastic meal for my boyfriends 21st birthday. From starter to desert great service. Would recommend to family and friends and would definitely go back!
Went for Sunday lunch, never been before and it was lovely. The whole experience from entering to leaving was perfect and the staff very efficient and friendly. Would love to go back on an evening!
First rate service and food. The ingredients were of the highest quality and prepared perfectly. It is THE best location in the area for either that special meal with the one you love or, to take business clients. In both cases it doesn't fail to impress.
Excellent food and service as always! my guests live in Leeds and were pleasantly surprised by the quality restaurant in Hull and very impressed with the food especially the vegetarian options
Great food and great atmosphere enjoyed our first visit and will for sure be going back to this one . They have a tapas over the other side of the marina also which we will also try
A quality dining experience, consistent food quality and attentive service from all the team. The location and layout presents a good ambience with decent space between fellow dinners, well worth a visit
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, food is ok. Main problem is the service which is slow and un-co-ordinated. The waiting staff need better training and for a restaurant with an impressive wine list the staff are remarkably uninformed/un-knowledgeable about wine. It's always busy, so I detect a whiff of complacency in that they don't need to try any harder. 1884 is a distant second place to the Westwood in Beverley, where the food is better, the service crisper and being the best is clearly the mission for the whole team.
Great restaurant, beautiful location, amazing food, delicious deserts, great wine and welcoming staff. I will definitely go again and recommend it to all my friends.
Another fabulous meal today at 1884. Myself and my husband had the three course Sunday lunch and it was gorgeous. The mini Yorkshire puddings for desert was Devine
Amazing food and staff. Always on hand to help without standing over you, extremely polite and well presented. I will definitely be going back, hopefully soon!
Fantastic night celebrating my sons GCSE results. Nothing was too much for any of the staff. My son even got a celebratory pudding. Thanks 1884 x
Lovely meal and excellent caring service as ever. Always a treat to come back to Dock Street Kitchen. Especially enjoyed having the wine flight with the Market Menu. Great value too!
Great experience , excellent staff , fantastic food , lovely presentation of food , nice atmosphere will definitely go again to repeat the experience of this great restaurant .
Beautiful decor. Great atmosphere. No rushing but service is there if you need it. A lovely evening catching up with old friends. Food great too!
Excellent food and service. This was our fourth visit and still to the same high standard. Cannot fault the service and the food was excellent as to be expected.
Excellent service and amazing food, really friendly and helpful staff, will be going again, highly recommend you try the rib eye steak it was delicious
Good quality food but too expensive & portions too small. The market menu was excellent value. However, it has had a name change & with that, the price has increased. It's a shame.
Nice meal, well cooked no long waits between courses. Attentive and pleasant staff - particularly enjoyed chatting with front of house manager at the bar before our meal . Would recommend to others.
Went to 1884 for my mums 70th birthday, she was greeted with a happy birthday on arrival. Food was fantastic and they did her a special desert. It was my mums first visit and she loved it.
Lovely meal and very hospitable. Looking forward to going get back next year for our 2nd year anniversary. Do beware though folks, menu online wasn't what I first thought. My own fault though for misunderstanding. "Taste menu" 3 course £22 with proscecco says Friday's but I found it wasn't available.
The food and service was fantastic, could not fault anything about the restaurant. I would highly recommend going as the attention to detail with the presentation and taste of the food is beautiful.
Our first visit to 1884 for Sunday lunch and we will definitely return. Service and menu spot on for a very reasonable price. Lovely surroundings.
Great food great atmosphere and first class service. Would always recommend this place to anyone. Busy restaurant shows how popular this place is. Nothing is too much trouble.
As always delicious food, excellent service and wonderful surroundings. The ambience is so engaging and the staff so professional. The food is simply the best there is - and great value for the money!
Great dinner, cannot fault the food and the value of the set menu. However for a restaurant of this standard was very surprised we were left to carry our own drinks to the table!
Amazing food, relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff. A great sunday roast deffinatly be returning. The wine was also lovely. Cannot fault the place at all.
We have been a few times, & as always the food was lovely & waiting staff were very efficient. But we were seated adjacent to a table of a group who were slightly rowdy which slightly tarnished the overall experience unfortunately
Great food/great wine and good advise on wide from bar-man. waiting staff a little in-friendly and food pricey. Best oysters and champagne I have tasted for years though. I will return!
Another lovely evening at 1884 Dock Street. Good atmosphere and great food. Its always a pleasure. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for that special meal.
Unbelievable experience. Service was nothing short of incredible and food was nothing short of outstanding. Serious wow factor. Look forward to going again next time I visit Hull.
Amazing food, lovely atmosphere, great service and an excellent wine list offering prices for all budgets. This is my favourite place to eat in Hull.
First class in every department incl service, food, decor and atmosphere. Set menu superb value for money. And it's refreshing to be given a bill with no default service charge added.
Brilliant evening once again. Great taste, presentation and precise service. Very pleasant. Excellent choice of gin and tonics too. Another excellent evening with a southerner visitor helping placing Hull on the map.
Awesome service, incredible food, delicious wine. The atmosphere was excellent. Everytime I go back to Hull I will be booking a table for sure. Perfect.
A great menu at a First Class venue . A relaxing bar area for pre drinks . 1884 is well designed, fine dining experience with Comfortable seating area. The staff are knowledgeable about the food and wine they are serving . This is most definitely a excellent choice for lunch our a evening meal. We have always been delighted with the good and service received.
This is not the first time we have been to 1884, but the experience does not change. The building itself is impressive and the conversion elegantly done. The service is impeccable, and the food really excellent. The quality of the ingredients is high, they are cooked very well and the treatment of the food is imaginative, appealing to the eye as well as the taste. We have only ever had the set menu, which is really all you need. The a la Carte seems very expensive.
The food was excellent but we felt it could have been served with a little more enthusiasm shown for the client experience and the product
The staff were very helpful and professional. The food, as always was excellent and plentiful and the ambience of the restaurant was very relaxing and pleasant.
