Aamchi Mumbai

We always choose the special and this time it was 'Missile' - I think - and it was extraordinarily good. For me it even beat the green fish tikka which is our absolute favourite starter. Once again, we shared the coconut fish curry and it's rapidly becoming the main course to beat for us. Just love this place.

Totally unique and amazing experience. We asked the server for recommendations and we weren't disappointed. We were seated outside which was lovely. We can't wait to go back again.

I can highly recommend this restaurant. I have eaten here several times and the food is always tasty and cooked to perfection. Superb as ever!

This is now, officially, our favourite local place to eat, as previous reviews attest. Last night we tried the fish curry which was fantastic. Large chunks of white fish in a fragrant, coconut based sauce with a super kick. Nothing like the greasy, battered fish curries of other places. Great service too, as always. This is such a good restaurant.

Top quality food and service. Very different to anything you normally find in your typical Indian restaurant. I'd recommend that you definitely give this place a try.

The staff were so nice and friendly. They were also very knowledgable about which options on the menu were suitable for vegans. The food was deicious! I'm looking forward to returning.

Lovely welcoming and attentive staff..meals were very good, menu not too large as to "baffle" people,sweet menu quite unusual too..all in all a very happy experience for my birthday,will definitely visit again

One of the best curries I've had in a long time. Distinct menu with lots of dishes I had not come across before - I love to try something new. The staff were great and were happy to give extra information on each option. We'll definitely be back (if we can get a table!)

As always, splendid. This is now our favourite local restaurant. We always go for the day's special as this is always interesting and unusual. Last night was a tandoori lamb shank which we shared - softest meat with excellent flavour and none of that awful red food colouring. Just lovely.

Food was great, plenty of vegetarian options and fresh as well..not convinced by the poppadoms though...I prefer the traditional large poppadoms myself but overall a good experience, would recommend

Fabulous food and great service. Menu was explained by staff - tried a mixed platter starter - I had delicious lamb curry - they do some fantastic cocktails too !

This was our fourth visit and, once again, we were delighted at the light hand in the cooking and the excellent service. It's always good when the staff can properly explain the food to you - and even better when they are very happy to do so. I made a green chutney recently and now understand where I went wrong. The smokey aubergine was just crackingly good and, somehow, even the rice becomes a fragrant dish in its own right. They really do try harder here. And succeed.

Staff very helpful and courteous, amazing food.....Traditional Mumbai cuisine, the atmosphere was relaxed, the street courses were Very tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed it will definitely visit again.

Very enjoyable meal. Very attentive service staff with lots of knowledge of the menu. Surroundings were pleasant and very clean. Only criticism is maybe not quite enough food choices but the food we had was excellent. Will definitely be going back!!

Decent food though sambar lacking seasoning. They need a more varied menu if they are going to attract returning customers. Decent service by waitress too.

We visited last night and had a wonderful meal. We went for the mixed sharing starter and chicken lollipops all of which were amazing. Followed by lamb buna which was top quality especially the meat, and a aloo Gobi which again was the best we have ever tasted, massala rice and a chilli nan accompanied the meal. Unusually for us we had a sweet which was Kulfi which again was one of the best we have had. Thank you for a wonderful meal and we will return very soon

compared to our first visit, the second one was a bit disappointing. The Paneer in Paneer Tika was cold and a bit rubbery. Bhaji in Pav Bhaji was full of masala and a bit salty. Dosa wasn't crisp as it should be. The Falooda was excellent, though. Staff are friendly and very nice overall. May be the chef had an off day!!! Happens to us all. Would like to try again sometime.

Good atmosphere and interesting menu. I particularly enjoyed the vegetarian paneer pizza, it's large enough to share and would be great as an accompaniment to another main dish.

Best authentic Indian food in the UK so far . We been many times in india, so it is easy for us to judge. Also , never met such a friendly owner and staff. There should be many more restaurants like that.

Very good meal in a very busy restaurant with tentative staff. Food was very good quality and unusual. . Definitely would recommend the lam Bhuna.

Really nice staff, very helpful, went to celebrate my mum's 60th and they looked after us right from the time of booking to leaving the restaurant. Didn't rush us didn't try to be pushy and very accommodating! Defo 11/10

The starter portions (papads) were very small and poor value for money. Our main courses were ok, but we felt were not as big or as well flavoured as the first visit last year. Overall, not as good an experience.

As usual the meal was delicious and the staff very friendly and welcoming. It is our fourth visit and it never disappoints. On this occasion we were treating our 14 year old grandchild because she enjoyed the food so much on her last visit.

UNFORTUNATELY THE SERVICE WAS A LITTLE SLOW. WE HAD TO WAIT A LONG TIME FOR THE SWEET TO BE ORDERED BUT THE QUALITY OF OF FOOD WAS EXCELLENT.

Indian Indian not Pakistani nor Bangladeshi Indian. Take a look at the Menu online and Google what is what before going. Experiment. Indian customers , always a good sign

This is the 5th time we've been here and there is no better Indian in Stockport if there is we haven't found it & don't intend looking

Food is good considering the quality and service, but it is very expensive and the quantity is too too little. So, always order double dishes. Be prepared to have at least £50 in your valet for a decent dinner for two without having any beverages.

Very impressed with the entire experience on our first visit to Aamchi Mumbai. The food was wonderful and the staff very knowledge about the dishes. The attention to detail was excellent. We will definitely be going back soon.
