Lunch time visit. Covid restrictions strictly enforced. Felt safe. Food very good. Staff attentive and friendly. All contributed to a positive experience.

The experience was nice but we were in the the restaurant in the bottom right hand corner table the diner on the table to our left was less than a metre from our table and it made us feel uncomfortable and did not conform to Covid 19 guidelines.

Friendly, professional. Prompt service. The restaurant was busy but the service was still good

Located in the wee village of ponteland the blackbird has the rustic charm of a countryside pub .upon entering a warm greeting was recieved and we were shown to our table in the restaurant with the low curved ceilings again with fabulous rustic charm,the menu was quite difficult to read as the additional info was in yellow ink which disappeared however the food was fabulous I had vegan burger with chunky chips absolutely delicious all in all well worth a visit

Tables were well spaced, food was nice and the staff were efficient.

Seated and served drinks and order taken timely. However 4 starters on menu and at time of ordering there was no soup of the day left. 2 people ordered the terrine to be told some 20 minutes later there was only 1 terrine and the other person was advised to take another starter. Starters came after another 15 minutes. It was not until after 7.45 that the mains came which I can say were okay though my husbands burger and bun did look burnt. During our wait we ordered more drinks which were 4 diet cokes and unbelievably they came to the table in 4 different glasses of which one was clearly smaller. When queried this I was told they couldn't find any glasses and I had to ask for the measure to be made up. We were not offered any desert because our time slot was up. Poor do overall and it wrong to use covid as a reason. It is actually taking too many bookings than they can reasonable cope with.

Good food, good service, under the current situation, it was a good experience.

We’ve been coming to the Blackbird for years, and the food has always been brilliant. But the on last 2 visits, one just before lockdown and the other after, The food just isn’t as good as it used to be. It was lacking flavour yesterday and just a bit basic. Which is a shame, as it’s usually lovely. We’ll still come back, but maybes not for Sunday lunch.
