A great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is always freshly cooked and interesting. Like a local restaurant you’d find in most French towns. And a fair selection of different dishes to choose from on either the 2 menus of the day and the a la carte menu. We’ve been there about 8 times now and enjoyed it each time. There’s always fish available and despite my initial misgivings it was really tasty, crispy skin and just cooked flesh served with a nice celeriac purée. And the creme brûlée is among the best I’ve ever tasted anywhere. There’s also chicken , roast belly pork, steak and vegetarian options. The wines are ok and not too expensive. 3 course is a bit too much for me but no one else was over faced. There’s a menu at £10.95 for 2 courses and one for £14.95 for 2 courses both with added option of a dessert for an extra £3. So for the quality of food and service, this is very good value.

Stopped the weekend in Chester so booked here for our evening meal on the Saturday. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service we had couldn't be faulted.

Very disappointing. I booked having experienced an excellent meal in Godalming Surrey and expected the same outstanding standard. Staff were badly trained stretching across customers to serve food rather than go round the table. I was told the ice cream was made on site but it turned out to be mass produced centrally in London and was very ordinary. The manager was scruffy. No bread served with the mussels so we ordered bread and received a massive decorative loaf which was not what was expected. Coffee etc was served before our deserts arrived which again was not what we wanted. It was a great shame as my son had come up from London to celebrate his birthday with his family and it certainly was not the memorable meal we had expected.

Excellent as usual, food was very nice and service was good only downside is they apply 12.5% tip to your bill which is uncomfortable if you wanted to leave a tip that you feel comfortable with

Cote is my favourite restaurant chain and Chester does not disappoint. A wonderful family meal, gorgeous food and great service as always. I can highly recommend it.

Breakfast at Cote Chester always a great experience! Good consistently very good and staff always attentive and friendly. Great menu choices from coffee and a crisssnt to a full English and the best boudin noir (black pudding) we’ve ever had. Great for lunch and dinner too.

Loved our meal, great staff really friendly made my husbands biurthday very special. We will definetley try out other Cote Braseries in the future. 5 star

Côte is one of our favourite restaurants; this was our first trip to Chester’s Côte and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Ambiance relaxed and calm, food wonderful, some of the best mussels I’ve had; drinks great. It was a birthday lunch which the staff at Côte made really special. We’ll be back.

Service and food was excellent. Very impressed with the vegetarian menu and also vegetarian drinks menu.In all my years of being vegetarian i have never been offered a separate drinks menu. Will definitely visit again.

My visit on Saturday last was up to the high standard that we have become used to from Cote in Chester. Four of us were warmly welcomed with delicious cocktails provided free after booking online. These are the third cocktails we have enjoyed at Cote and all have been excellent. All the food was well received especially the creme caramel which is the best I have had anywhere in the world. The staff at the end of the meal made us feel as though we were treated as old friends. I usually avoid eating out on Saturday nights as restaurants in my experience are too rushed and lower their standards but not at this establishment.

The food and service was excellent, but the tables are too close together so that you have no privacy and cannot avoid hearing the conversation of fellow diners
