I’m not a fan of chains usually but this is comfortably the best.
First Côte I’d ever been to and dine here every year when the Christmas market is on. Superb.
Was a great meal and great service. Well cooked and served with a 😃 very well priced. Would def go back and try something else of the menu.
Had an amazing evening thank you ....staff very attentive as my mum has special needs..were very kind ..the manager was very understanding and so patient
Myself and two friends dined at this establishment on Tuesday 29th August. We ordered from the set menu (three courses for £12.95 weekdays 12-7pm). The restaurant was relatively quiet but this wasn't surprising given the day of the week. There were a few tables occupied but we were given the choice of where to sit. The restaurant was nice and airy. Even thou the menu were opted for was a special deal I felt that there was plenty of choice. We were given a good amount of time to peruse the menu and make our choices. I opted for the cod croquettes for my starter, belly pork on a bed of mash for main and crumble for my dessert. All the food was cooked well and I especially enjoyed my main. My dining experience at Cote was excellent throughout from the service, the food and the ambience. I would most definately dine here again
Amazingly quiet on a Friday evening and although the food was good the service was unbelievably bad. Don't get me wrong the server was friendly and there was more than enough staff for the number of guests it's just they were conspicuous by their absence. Where was the supervision? An example.... olives ordered on arrival to be consumed with wine as we looked at the menu were delivered with the starter even though we had asked for them twice. They were sent back but still charged for and then we have to wait another 15 mins to have them removed from the bill by the manager who only emerged when I stood by the door and personally asked for him. Where was David all night ? Too much light in a large almost empty dining room made it feel like a canteen. Perhaps self service would have been better ! Insult to injury a service charge was automatically added! Cote can and normally does better. Perhaps that's why this was so quiet?
We have used this restaurant dozens of times. There is a monthly specials menu as well as the main one. You can have breakfast daily until 1pm which is great if you're still fancying a full English at lunchtime! For £9.95 you get fresh juice, coffee or tea, toast and full English which is great value. Two course specials menu lunch until 7pm for £10.95 which is good for an early bird menu before going to the theatre or cinema. Staff are friendly and service is good. There is a lovely enclosed decked area outside at the back upstairs which most people don't know about. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!
Booked this restaurant as have been to the peterborough one where staff are lovely and hoped it would be the same in Lincoln. Staff were a bit offish in this restaurant. I asked what flavours for the french fries and I was told 'potato flavour' when I asked if they served Parmesan fries/truffle fries I was told 'no, this is a french restaurant' quite abruptly. I took my husband there for his birthday and we were sat under a noisy air conditioning unit, my husband asked could anything be done as it was giving him a headache, he was told it would mean them turning off heating for whole building quite rudely instead of just offering us at first to move, this was offered as an afterthought. Food was good, service not so good cobsidering they put service charge on bill. If they had not have given my husband a free birthday dessert I would not have paid service charge. Don't know if I would go back
This was our first visit and so we were apprehensive, regardless of numerous good reviews, there was no need. The restaurant had an air of a well run establishment all your staff were well trained, knowledgeable about the procedures, some unique, of serving and looking after your customers. The menu was very balanced between the three courses on offer, we all had different meals and all were voted excellent. The wine list was comprehensive without being offensive and the wine recommended in the 'September Specials' menu was superb, as was the food, a real Duck Confit, rare in this country. Price was right, all in all a very big hit.
Went early in the evening as it was a Friday. There didn't seem to be many staff on but we were shown to a table (we had a reservation but could pick where we wanted to sit) quickly and served quite quickly. We chose from the set price menu, although there was a good choice of food on the A La Carte Menu. The food arrived promptly and was very tasty. We were then left for at least 20 minutes with our empty plates before anyone came to see if we required anything else or the bill. However a pleasant dining experience although as it got busier it felt a bit like being in a canteen, but we would use this restaurant again.
