Mistakes happen, places can have an off night - I understand that, but it was annoying when having asked if it would still be possible to have 2 courses in the time available to us after the long wait we'd had to place our order, and been told 'yes', that we were not served our main meal until the time we needed to leave. A stressful 75 minutes.
Fantastic food, service and value. I eat regularly here and it is faultESS in every respect!
Great value express menu but the mussels were too salty (& like salt). It's also quite hectic and clamorous in the restaurant although that's to be expected pre-theatre.
Very busy Saturday evening - fortunately had booked a table - but despite number of diners staff coped very well indeed. Food good as ever in Cote restaurants. We both had the salmon from the December Christmas menu and it was extremely delicious, although the vegetables a little unexciting. Will definitely use this Cote restaurant again - extremely handy for all South Bank events.
good food, good atmosphere, excellent service, all at a great price. Visited this restaurant pre theatre and took advantage of the pre theatre deal, lovely evening.
It was a nice evening as I could see my special friends. Steak was not their best dish, unfortunately. It was not cooked to my taste and my portion was full of hard pieces, nerves. Service and ambiance, good.
We booked the restaurant for a post theatre dinner and were very glad that we did. The staff were most accommodating and allowed us to changed the time as the show was longer than expected. The meal itself was delicious and the service impeccable. We noticed a whole lot of people being turned away as they had not booked. For us it is a great location being en route to Waterloo for our journey back to Farnham. A perfect end to a great day in town!
Another very satisfying meal at Cote. 2 excellent steaks consumed after a very nice dish of Calimari served as a starter.. As usual, the service was great. Overall, very happy!
Cote is excellent value and I regularly go there. The Festival Hall restaurant is very convenient for the SouthBank and the late night closing time (midnight, Wednesday to Saturday) is particularly useful.
Made to feel very welcome on arrival. Waitress was delightful and ensured we were well looked after with excellent food and wine. Could not fault our pre theatre supper before going to the RFH. Thank you.
We found the staff very helpful and friendly, the service prompt and the food excellent. Will go again, especially if we have a theatre of concert to attend nearby
I very much enjoyed my meal in this buzzing restaurant. Côte Brasserie restaurants always offer an interesting menu with friendly service and a great ambience.
Good varied menu, pleasant decor and reasonable prices. Will come again when visitng the Marlowe Theatre which is only a short walking distance away.Attentive efficient staff provide a good experience.
Cote is always a reliable standby for a meal before a concert. Always staffed enough to process a meal in a predictable time. The food always a good support act for a concert which is the main act of the night.
As always at any branch of Cote we had a great time. The staff were attentive and the meal was great. Looking around I say that everyone was having a good time.
Visited Cote on the South Bank for a pre-concert meal. Cote always delivers great food, and in an amiable atmosphere. Happy with our meal and would recommend.
Another lovely meal of a cold wet and windy night. the warm mulled cider drink on offer was just what I wanted. Food very freshly cooked and delicious. The Light Mains menu is fantastic value for an early evening get together.
Good French restaurant well placed at the Festival Hall. Wide ranging French based menu at good value. Busy at lunchtime visit but service quick, efficient and friendly.. Enjoyable three course meal
cote was very busy as usual, and pretty noisy. We met with two friends prior to attending a conference and enjoyed ourselves although there were a couple of setbacks. My main course was lukewarm bordering on cold - I didn't send it back because there was insufficient time, Also, we told the waiter that the bill was to be split between two of us but somehow my friend found himself paying the full amount, a linguistic problem I think.
Paid our bill in cash. It included a £4. 12.5% gratuity in cash. We waited in vain for our change as our money and bill was passed to 2 other staff and then apparently left at the till. When it became clear that we were not getting it back we alerted another waiter. It was finally given to us without any apology. Not clear whether it was assumed we were giving an additional £4 tip or whether it was an oversight. Whichever an apology would have been appropriate.
Excellent customer service: efficient, friendly and helpful. Superb value for money. Great wine selection. Perfect location. What more could anyone ask for? Côte is simply the best!
Restaurant very busy and warm, but weather was mild so not much you could do about that. Good service and very nice meal from the set menu
Food up to the usual good Cote standard but the service was terrible. They lost our order between our table and kitchen and we had to wait 45 mins before our starter ararived. They forgot our drinks. The staff admitted there was a problemandgave us free bread and drinks. But the meal was a rush and we had to get to the Festival Hall. Not happy.
Frendly and efficient service generally good food served at this restaurant, resonable value for money nice ambience not too noisy would definitely use again when in the area
Avoid the cabbage as a side - it’s really dry! Otherwise the set meal is pretty good value overall and quite tasty. Service is helpful and efficient
Something happened with the food, not the same as before. Also service was a bit slow but their manager recognised it when I raised the issue to her. Might just come back on a different time.
Brilliant pre concert venue. You have to book well in advance otherwise you wont get an early table. Excellent food, excellent service and very good value.
I always go to Côte. It’s my go to restaurant where I don’t need to think and just spend time with friends, eat good food and drink nice wine. We booked for 7.30 and they were a bit frazzled when we arrived as I think they had just had a mass exodus to the southbank centre which wasn’t suprising and they sorted it all out in the end. Just might book for a bit later next time.
Well up to the usual high Cote standard. Despite being very busy service was efficient and timely. Pork tenderloin from the higher-price November set menu was splendid.
Very disapointed Cold Food! And still tried to add service charge. Really unlike any Colt Ive been to before. Would not recomend this one, which os a shame.
The food was very good value for money - ample portions, tasty and well cooked. The service was excellent especially considering how busy the restaurant was.
Fabulous good, service and ambience. The Formule breakfast always hits the mark.
Had the pre-theatre set meal. The starter - autumn salad was delicious and I can highly recommend. My friend enjoyed her pear endive salad too. She had the sea bream as the main and it was delicious. I had the atichoke and goats cheese risotto which was a little disappointing and needed more seasoning. But the wine and the ambience was great and the location on the South Bank easy for the National Theatre. So will be going again!
We were well looked after. They have a gluten free menu which is great. They even have a gluten free menu for the pre-theatre special deal.
Poor table near the washing up. Slow service. I left hungry. Beans undercooked coffee cold. Is that enough and they charged £7 for service!!!!! Normally like cote but not this branch.
Great food as always although service was a little slow . When order was taken food arrived promptly . Otherwise very good . Would certainly recommend .
I love Cote restaurants. Enormous menu, great value, super food and wine - all in all a great experience! I’ve never had a poor meal at any of the London restaurants - always consistent!
Good food and great value set lunchtime menus to choose from. Wheelchair friendly and staff helpful. Only criticism was that the plates used for main course were cold so food did not stay hot for long.
On arrival our booked table was ready despite the restaurant being very busy. Very nice polite service and our meal was perfect. As usual Cote did not disappoint
It took a while to be seated but overall the service was good and attentive afterwards and we found that the food was very tasty.
Took up my birthday offer of complimentary Kirs with friends. A very welcoming drink. Staff on this visit very friendly and helpful especially to one late arrival when we were tight for time.
This was less favourable than previous visits to other Cote Brasserie restaurants. Two of us ordered the Spinach Salad starter, but it fell short of expectations as some ingredients were missing from the dish. In fairness, when this was drawn to the attention of our waitress, we were given a discount on our bill, but the oversight should not have happened.
Extraordinarily busy time for this restaurant pre-theatre, but speed of service faultless. The fast plate option is recommended if you’re in a rush and importantly there is no loss of quality. First-class.
I’ve visited this restaurant several times and it always is a consistent good experience.
Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. Cote is he best of the London affordable eateries.
Average grub pre theatre or just.for a quick no frills supper. Good value for money and conveniently located opposite South Bank. Will go back if viating the vicinities
Fantastic experience thanks great quality food, wonderful service and lovely atmosphere, very cosy restaurant in the centre of London especially the lower ground floor area which is unusual.
Another excellent evening with Cote. The food was very good. The service was immaculate, we had the good fortune to be served by a most charming young Portuguese lady who organised a surprise birthday pudding for an unsuspecting 80 year-old. Full marks all round, Cote!
Friend staff ,good price ,good food ,good location, but as this festival hall branch ,I sitting in the basement, fell a bit airtight..maybe only is myself feel it
Good food and friendly but very slow service. We had a complimentary cocktail thanks to one of Cote's great offers. Very convenient location for the National theatre.
